  1. Just double checked everything from the mic, to the wall, to the i/o on my pc and took another recording: Recording (2).m4a
  2. I can only assume that this is some kind of electrical noise being produced by my PC. All windows in the room were closed, chasis fans as low as they could go, ceiling fan off. I did a second run with the GPU fans screaming at 100% but it didn't sound like the mic was picking that up as there was no change in the audio. Audio Setup: Mic: Audio Technica AT2020 Interface: Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 Power: Furman SS6B Power Conditioner (advertised as having "EMI/RFI noise attentuation") PC: Motherboard: Asus PRIME Z-390-A GPU: 2x SLI MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Armor CPU: i7 8700k OC to 4.9 GHz PSU: EVGA Supernova 1000G 80+ Gold RAM: Corsiar Vengeance LPX 4x4gb DDR4 3000 CAS15 CPU Cooling: CoolerMaster ML240L RGB Recording.m4a
  3. UPDATE 2: Took some time to calm down and use my head a little bit more. Tried moving a GPU to the second PCIe slot and everything's working fine now. Next step is to take everything out and use the motherboard box as a test bench to see if something may be causing a short in one of the cases with how it's mounted in the case. If the top slot works then I'm going to have to try to figure out what might be causing the short. If anyone has an idea then let me know. If the slot continues to not function then I'm going to have to take it in and replace it.
  4. UPDATE: Looked at my GPU's and realized the card in the top slot didn't appear to be receiving any power (fans weren't spinning). Decided to swap them to see if the GPU I was using had just shit the bed or if there was something up with the PCIe slot. Well low and behold after I swapped them, the now top card, previously bottom, was spinning... for about 2 minutes. Now BOTH cards aren't spinning. I'm hesitant to say they're fried since as I type this I'm looking at my monitor which is currently plugged into my laptop. Driver reinstalls don't seem to be doing anything except wasting time and I'm completely at a loss as to how the fuck I'm supposed to fix this or what the problem even is. I've checked all the cables going from the power supply to the GPU's. I tried reducing the system to only the card that SEEMED to be working but the only accomplishment there was geforce drivers and control nvidia control panel disappeared again. Still can't change my monitor refresh. Diplay adapter properties said device requires further installation so i tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers but SHOCKER that didn't do shit. I'm at the end of my knowledge rope here, If I don't find a solution I'm going back to the store I bought everything from and raising hell if GPU's just died from this piece of shit gigabyte mobo
  5. So I decided to upgrade my CPU and motherboard today, system posted immediately and I thought all was well and good until I realized my mouse looked significantly less smooth than it normally does (I'm on a 240Hz monitor) so I decided to check my display settings and it was at 64Hz with no other options. I went to Open NVIDIA Control Panel but it had disappeared, so I reinstalled it. Upon attempting to open it, I was greeted with the message "You are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU." I proceeded to go into my display adapter settings and both my 1080's were showing up, but I went ahead and uninstalled and reinstalled anyway just to be safe. Same result. Then I rebooted the system but this time watched the motherboard, I'm getting the VGA error light, but I'm still getting a display? YES I made sure to double and triple check that my monitor is connected to my GPU. YES my BIOS is registering 2 devices in PCIe slots, NO there's no other PCIe devices it could be. I'm seriously stumped on what the hell the issue could be here. I just want my damn PC to work.
  6. Thanks for all the advice my doods. Like I said, I want the tubing to only have vertical and horizontal runs so more than likely I'll end up with angled fittings and such. I guess I'll have to get all the other equipmemt first to find out the tubing length
  7. Definitely going hardline...can't believe I forgot to mention that. Should I ONLY get compression fittings and tube bending or should I go for some other kinds, like 45s 90s and swivels?
  8. So I'm going to start working on my first (and possibly only) custom loop here pretty soon so I'm going for my own idea of gold. My idea is to use 2 EK 360 Slim rads in a Fractal Design S, I've researched it and they WILL fit with fans. As for a pump I'm going with the EK-XRES 140 DDC 3.2 PWM Elite. The rest of my system is as follows: CPU: i7 6850k MoBo: Asus Sabertooth X99 GPU: MSI GTX 1080 Armor OC 2-Way SLI RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3000 PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G1 So my question to any water cooling veterans is what fittings do I need and how many of each fitting shpuld I get? I will only use water on my CPU and GPUs. I'm going for only vertical and horizontal runes, no angles or curves...or at least minimal.
  9. Looks like there's a few different knobs on the base of the needle arm, could you explain to me what those are?
  10. Title pretty much explains it all. I'm about to get a set of vinyls for the first time and need something to play them on, looking for good quality but doesn't have to be top of the line. Please list a few options from various price ranges as well as some advice for a decent "bang for buck" ratio.
  11. Even if it doesn't have a 1060, I'm ok with turning the settings down to get those high fps. I already have a desktop and haven't been able to go backsince getting my 1440p 144hz monitor. 1440p isn't worth it when we're talking about a 15.6 or 17.3 inch display.
  12. I only see Sager boasting about high refresh dispays on their 1440p models. Not looking to spend $3k on a laptop right now. Might end up going for the MSI model
  13. I'm looking for reccomendations on a laptop that has preferably a GTX 1060 and 1920x1080 120Hz display. The problem is, most laptop manufacturers don't seem to like to specify the refresh rate on the display, and when they do, it's on the insanely high end models that have a GTX 1080 and 1440p display i.e. Sager.
  14. Awesome. You've been a huge help man. Thank you!
  15. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GRMF4RS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3QDQQZGFBPIAD So I was looking at this for a good budget combo. Although it looks like it forces the mic to point downwards, or is that adjustable?
  16. When using the dynamic mic should I have it point directly towards me?
  17. I'd rather have to be stupid close to my mic than being kick from groups or muted because people can hear the sound of me blinking.
  18. Also I don't think the shure mics would be a good option for me, I'm only looking at mics that connect via USB or 3.55mm if I had decided on the ModMic. I could get an XLR to USB adapter with the shure mics but it costs an extra S100.
  19. No big deal man. I appreciate the help, wanted to make sure I was looking in the right direction. And of course I'm getting an arm. What would you recommend for a good shout mount? I'm honestly not shure if I would need one seeing as I'm just using it for chatting over skype/discord/etc. What would be the benefit to having a shock mount?
  20. It says in the description that it's a dynamic, literally the first bullet point on Amazon.
  21. That's exactly what the Audio Technica mic is, just wondering if there's better options at that price range, or if it'd even make that huge of a difference.
  22. More specifically, the solutions I've had in mind are either the Uni-Directional Version of the ModMic or an Audio Technica AT2005USB.
  23. I have been browsing around for a mic that's good at filtering out background noise. I have a few that I've had in mind but wanted to get some other suggestions. The mic on my Astro A50's is just way too sensitive, it picks up every keystroke, mouse click, breath, and the small and quiet AC unit a few feet away that doesn't even actually blow towards me, as well as people across the room, or little sniffles that i can't even hear myself make when there's no sound coming through the headset.
  24. I believe Sennheiser has something like what you're looking for in their gaming lineup.
  25. Nevermind, I managed to shake it out after took the board out. Thanks for the advice.
