  1. Budget (including currency): $1,800 / 12.000DKK Country: Denmark Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: City-building, Minecraft, CS:GO, Rocket League, GTA V Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Outlined below Hi LTT Been a long time since I've been here, but you've been helpful before so here I am again So I'm looking to upgrade my PC, this is mainly with regards to the core components but any and all advice are welcome. I'm not religious about team red or green as both have their own values. I have assembled two different lists, which I believe to be about the tier I'd be in at a maximum - with both performance and cost. I'd rather hit a budget of $1500 but if value increases exponentially I don't mind spending upwards of $2000. I just bought the WD Black SN850X and the monitor. So games will be played on the 3440x1440p monitor, so I'm looking for a decent fps in the heavier games on high res. I already have a wifi-adapter, so wifi on the mobo is not essential. But I do see that a lot comes with wifi anyway. My PSU I'm pretty happy with, but clearly it might have to be substituted so recommendations are also welcome. Otherwise I might just pick a trusted provider. If there's a little budget left I'd be happy to go for a Seasonic. With regards to a case, I'm not too fussed about looks. I'd rather it be functional. So after a few GN videos I'm primarily looking at Fractal Design Torrent Compact and the Lian Li LANCOOL 216. It seems they aren't in stock currently, so I might go for a variant of the O11. I'm pretty open to other CPU coolers. I do like Noctua but I don't really have any particular parameters apart from functionality. Nor do I care much about whether it's AIO or air. I curerntly use the set of RAM in my lists, but I might buy another set since I'm looking into doing some server stuff or virtualization. But I can always upgrade at a later date so don't think too much about it. Last time I was properly updated on PC components was when the 10-series came out, so I imagine my needs/wants are in the range of a 3070 Ti or in that tier. Alas I don't know much about the current GPUs or CPUs. Lastly, there's the CPUs. I dont need an insane one, but a strong and robust one. I 3D print a fair bit, and my current one is so slow when I'm slicing so I'm looking forward to a faster one. My choice for Intel thus far is the i7-13700K (probably overkill)(list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RRR778) and for AMD I've thought about the Ryzen 7 5800X3D (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WgZNwc) Thanks in advance! I re-read the pinned thread and I noticed that I haven't explained a reason for upgrading. I luckily don't have any problems with performance or such. I clean it thoroughly a few times a year and change thermal paste on both my 1060 and CPU. It's just about time and I recently came into a few money. Or basically something that should've been paid out to me monthly wasn't, thus it's all coming in a lump and I've been able to make it regardless.
  2. Setup would: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zwfrgL *Chose the wrong cpu cooler in the original link.
  3. Thinking about this one: ASUS PRIME Z270-A And then a white case of some sort. Though the RAM is red, so I gotta think about that. But thanks for reply!
  4. Dear LTT forum I recently fried my mobo - though I haven't found out how. I will be upgrading the case along with the mobo as I'm done with the itx case. Mobo is first priority, but suggestions for cases are welcome. Setup is https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dnhPqk New mobo should just be able to handle a better gpu as that is the next thing to get an upgrade. Regarding case suggestions - I'd love to not have a radiator next to me, so good air flow is top priority. Best Regards
  5. Dear LTT forum I shut down my Win10 yesterday where it updated. I turned on my pc today and it had to configure the update. It went from 0 to 92 pretty fast but it has now been stuck on 92% for almost an hour. Never had the problem before, so any recommendations? It off tells me I shouldn't turn off the pc but I don't see any other option at this moment. Best Regards
  6. I will keep that in mind!
  7. Deer LTT forum! My friend is gonna build his own rig, or to be precise, I'll be doing the assembly as he has no experience. As we're discussing the parts he wants I'm getting a little bit critical of his suggestions. First off, he has a large budget and he wants dual 1080's. So that had me thinking, what is the most value (or simply good value) GPU og GPU's? Everyone likes SLI, so that certainly isn't a restriction. Regarding the budget: If he wants dual 1080, consider that price as the budget for GPU. Regars Norup
  8. In the front I can mount duo fans and from standard there's the 200mm fan. Part of that directs airflow to the lower compartment where all the cables are bundled up. Then there's the PSU sucking up air from below, above the PSU is the GPU sucking in air from below. That means the GPU doesn't get any uninterrupted air... The thing I haven't yet tried is fixing a custom fancurve in BIOS, since I haven't got Speedfan to work. Although I can actually control the GPU fans from speedfan. The GPU does get some directed air and if not a proper fancurve will do the job, I might have to invest in two front-mounted fans and maybe tie the loose cables up, just so they aren't in the way at all. Thing is, the GPU is so damn close to the middle "floor" that I'm actually not sure if the GPU rests on the "floor". I bet it doesn't but it is close. Any suggestions?
  9. And thank you sir for the help! Although I did fail to mention that some of tight spots was only due to CPU cooler being the bloody size of the motherboard and wasn't due to the mITX case or mobo. If I could redo one thing though, it would be to put in a top-mounted duo radiator and have some watercooling for the CPU, that would look amazing. But I'll change that when I don't want to look at the cooler anymore: And one last thing; the temps are just fine considering the mITX but they are a bit high and the GPU easily reaches 80 C but is atleast it's usually steady at 73 C.
  10. It looks fucking astonishing! The camera doesn't like when the LED's aren't white but it looks amazing in red and most other colours. It was quite fine building in the case; only place where I found it just a little bit tight was when installing the I/O shield. And there were a few cables that weren't easy to get to - but it's manageble when your friends' hand are quite small. The CPU cooler is quite large and we had to move the fan up just a bit for the RAM modules to fit (see pic). Cable mangement was a bloody joy, no strips needed whatsoever due to the two velcro straps in the back and there's easily room to store all the cables out of view. Although do notice that you can get one stuck in the 200mm fan in the front (talking personal experience here). Phanteks uses their own SSD mounts so there wasn't actually any where to put the HUE+ thingy so I removed the SSD mount, and taped the HUE+ thingy there. Where the SSD is mountet now is a ghetto solution too. Originally the mount was on the backsite, but it was just turning around the screws and voila! The LED's are insane and livens up the rig, they're unvaluable! Without them the case just looks boring and the CAM software have a shittonne of awesome presets for the LED's. I'll respond in regards to the monitor suggestions fairly soon! In the meantime, enjoy the pictures!
  11. Dear LTT forum! So, I've build my first proper computer (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/g84RNG). And big thanks to @stconquest for helping me in the planning, it turned out bloody awesome! But I still use my old AOC monitor - it works but that's about it... So I was wondering if I have the budget for a new monitor. The GPU doesn't support G-sync so that'd be an unnecessary feature. I'm thinking QHD or WQHD - that would be epic! I do play CS:GO and a few other fast-pace games. I got my eyes on the ASUS MX27AQ but it's kinda stretching my budget. Any suggestions? //Norup
  12. I'm just gonna go with the badass red Ripjaws And then hope for the best
  13. Yeah I like the H5 Ultimate too but would that fit? You see I'm a bit worried that it isn't gonna fit but well it's not like it's a lot of money to buy another CPU cooler that fits. so the deal is on the H5 then. We'll see about the Win 10, I should be able to figure that out. But I'm going to before I get more of a headache
  14. The Pure Rock doesn't look nearly as cool as the H7, so do you think the Shadow Rock Slim will fit? Maybe a Dark Rock, that sh*t looks absolutely badass So is it just downloading Win 10 to a USB stick? Just selecting the stick when downloading?
  15. @stconquest Is both Hue+ pc illumination and red-sleeved cables too much and should I just stick with one of the two? Also I find that every danish retailer and Amazon is out of stock on the H7... So I might have to wait up to 10 days before I have that, and I can't really do much without And regarding Win 10, do I have to buy it on an USB or can I buy the disk one and move it over to an USB or what should I do there?
  16. Seems fine with me just getting the H7. Though I could try to get some LTT edition Noctua fans Nah, I actually think I'm done thinking more about all the components. Now I just have to convince myself to buy it
  17. I just discussed the aesthetics of having those ugly fans in there, with a friend. He made the same conclusion: why not water cooling. Of course it'll be a little tighter squeeze but it looks stunning and easily gets the job done. I've never tried water cooling but for now I believe the Cryorig H7 actually will be a good choice. Though the case actually quite good supports a top-mounted radiator. But I would like to discuss water cooling a little more. It will need to be an all-in-one or something, so do you have some recommendations? I'll do a little research myself for now to see what others have used in a similiar mini itx build. And for aesthetics, a black CPU cooler would be preferable. The interior of the case is red, mobo is partly red and cables are gonna be red, so I think it's safe to say that red is present in black/red theme - especially if I add illumination And yeah I'll keep the i7 K. EDIT: So the case does fit a top-mounted radiotor but quoting HardWareCanucks: "The top fan configuration can ONLY support 2x 120mm/140mm fans and their respective radiator sizes (240mm/280mm)."
  18. If I'm going to overclock it's not gonna be much. I'm actually fairly split on that matter. I don't believe I'm going to use the overclock but the i7 is so good that I could easily oc it a bit and still have stable performance. Maybe I should consider getting an i7-6700 and not oc? And the D15 is quiet and cools quite good so I wouldn't mind having it. I could even wait before I might oc. And the D15 should fit in the case but I'm a little more concerned about the RAM-modules, although partpicker doesn't see a problem. I might just double check that on manufactorer's websites.
  19. @stconquest So yeah, I'm gonna get the 500GB SSD and have the external HHD. Even though you don't speak danish I'm quite impressed with you noticing that the Corsair Red Sleeved cables doesn't fit - to me a cable is a cable and should fit So I found Linus' trusted friends - CableMod. They do have an EU store and red-sleeved cables: https://eustore.cablemod.com/product/cablemod-b-series-dpp-cable-kit-red/ And I even checked that they're compatible with EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W PSU I don't like colours on the Noctua NH-D15 but boy does it have good reviews. Do you think I could swap it for the Cryorig H7? I mostly mean; does it fit - especially concercing RAM and the fact that it's a large dual grill? And yes it's a bit more expensive that I like but it's a darn good build. And because of your help, I'm not even doubting I'm gonna buy it
  20. I see your points. I mainly play fast-paced games and I don't edit video. The GPU will most probably be a Sapphire Radeon R9 390 8GB Nitro. Also I'll be having a full hd secondary monitor. I just basically don't want to use too much money, so an ASUS VG248QE (as @Zetsu suggested) could probably do the work. Although I might consider something better.
  21. Hi I play on my old and trusted full hd monitor but it's old, colours seem to be fading etc. And I might just upgrade my computer so I'm looking for an upgrade for the monitor aswell. The monitor has to have DVI though. Other preferences might be that it's better resolution and it's larger than 22". I'll look forward to what you'll come up with! Regards Norup
  22. Final plan! This I believe to be my final plan! Any pros/cons or any thing you want to say before I buy it? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/TNpY6h Note: I have an extern 2 TB hard disk so 500 GB SSD should do just fine for me since anything that takes up space will just get moved to the external device. And thanks for all the great replies!
  23. Oh, and @stconquest I noticed the PSU being a fully modular, so I can even get these red-sleeved cables to match the black/red theme https://www.proshop.dk/Stroemkabel-intern/Sleeved-Cable-Kit-Red/2404874?s=Corsair+Sleeved+Cable+Kit
  24. @stconquest So there's only two components I currently find unavailable in Denmark, that is the PSU and and second storage thingy. As for the PSU I can find three called 'EVGA SuperNOVA 650W' but the difference is the name. One is called 'P2', next is called 'G2' and last is called 'G1'. Most expensive is P2, cheapest is G1. I just need some help to know exactly which one to get as I don't want it not to fit Links to the danish site is: https://www.proshop.dk/Stroemforsyning/SuperNOVA-650-P2-650W-PSU/2536386 https://www.proshop.dk/Stroemforsyning/SuperNOVA-650-G2-650W-PSU/2517202 https://www.proshop.dk/Stroemforsyning/SuperNOVA-650-G1-650W-PSU/2471412 And while you're on the website, would you mind finding a replacement for the Caviar Blue? I did find the rest, so it should fit
  25. I'll probably keep the i7, it's not thaaaaat much more than an i5 and it sure is the best thing. My friend tells he can setup a PC without a problem, so I'll be looking into where I'd be able to get the stuff. Unfortunately I live in Denmark and there's mostly just the shady places to buy from but I expect I'll be able to get all the parts. And @stconquest I'll try and go with the R9, I've watched a few reviews and it looks beasty and I'd probably be able to play any game I like in decent res, fps, etc. And damn I appreciate your help, you've made me more comfortable I'll keep you updated on this thread if need be And yes I'll be posting a lot more questions <3
