  1. I have the same issue, but i don't really see it as an issue. There are still 2 monitors to perform any BIOS changes
  2. A VDSL modem, going into a Ubuquiti edgerouter x
  3. I am planning on moving my router elsewhere in my house, but the modem has to remain in another room. Will it work if i send the output of the modem signal down powerline to the router? Thanks,
  4. In my opinion the easiest method of virtualisation is to install Vmware ESXi. It can be easily controlled from a windows application and new servers can be deployed quickly and easily.
  5. Thanks, i will try. I have used the adapter previously to send the signal out and it worked. After many hours of studying the Acceptable Use Policy of my schools network, it is only states you cannot attempt to access Pornography or Illegal download sites... I am not attempting to access either of those, merely use FB, IG, SC etc in lessons, plus my idea includes a web filter blocking those
  6. As part of my extremely complex but somehow permitted school web filter bypassing system, i have a raspberry pi connected to a VPN. That part works fine, although i have now hit an issue beyond my knowledge. I need to output the connection over a USB ethernet adapter to the access point. When plugging it in, it appears as eth1 under 'ifconfig', so i know it works. I'm just not sure how to set it as an output of the connection instead of the default input. Any help would be greatly appreciated! P.S Running Full Raspbian image
  7. I sleep less than 2 metres away from a Ubiquiti Unifi AP... and have yet to experience any problems (although my family/friends would probably beg to differ :P)
  8. One of my scripts starts a Proxy server, which i guess would continually run, and the other just starts a daemon, so i am guessing they could both be executed with cron?
  9. If i get a shell script to execute on startup via crontab.. will the script continue running until the next reboot? I am used to running a script for a java application in screen, which is starting to get annoying to have to re-open every restart. Thanks
  10. I personally use no-ip.. and you just login with your account and it does it automatically.
  11. It is most likely the lubricant in the fan that is drying out, the cheapest and easiest option is probably to replace it.
  12. As an example.. imagine your current IP is 43.64.26.75. A Dynamic DNS service will update example.com to 43.64.26.75. Anyone that connects to example.com will be forwarded to 43.64.26.75. If your IP changes to 34.35.26.35, the software changes example.com to 34.35.26.35.
