  1. I believe there's supposed to be an option where you can always view the file extensions and such, so you'd pretty much never be fooled. I doubt a virus actually disguised itself as any of these...uncommon file types. Like i mentioned, i'm super paranoid about super new and super expensive stuff, so when a virus scan goes like "Nah, we good, ain't no virus here dawg" then i'm like "Fuck, they good, they hid that shit well". So i was just tryna find out if these file extentions somehow share the same thing with mp3s whereas there's really no way it can fuck up your shit, cus it's just a fucking mp3 file and it can't do nothing else except for playing fire mixtapes
  2. So basically, you run an .exe file (The DAW) and then you open a saved project which is basically like...a modified folder? Idnno, it just says it's a folder, and then it opens your project, and what i listed are all the actual file extentions that are in the folder
  3. ...Is this how i reply? I didn't actually see a literal "reply" button, so i jus' kinda pressed "quote". Uh so anyways. I just listed all the files that are in the folders of the shit i need. Basically they're files for DAWs (Digital Audio Workstation), and those are apparently the file types inside of a uhm...saved project, so i figured if they have the kind of immunity mp3s have, which i've heard can't contain anything like, malicious or can't do anything to your computer because it doesn't have any like codes and shit, then you know, we good...
  4. So I've got this new laptop and i wanted to transfer some very specific files from my old computer to the new one. The main type of files would be .asl (Ableton Live Set) .asd (No Idea) ini. (No idea but i bet 99% of you guys know what it is) and cfg. (I'll just let you figure them out...) and well ofcourse stuff like mp3 and wav files. I'm usually super paranoid about stuff like this when i get new stuff...at least for the first 24 hours, so i usually don't transfer anything at all from my old computers because of...just straight up all the messed up shit i jack off to. SO yea, hopefully the file extensions i listed are like...just information stuffs for the exe file that actually uses themAndIHaveNoIdeaOfWhatI'mTalkingAboutPlsHelpMe.
  5. EVERYTHING is overpriced here in Norway though. I literally just looked for a motherboard that was somewhat of a white-ish color scheme and while holding the correct amount of socket for the cpu. But basically, all of this is compatible? Like if i bought it, and somehow magically possesed the abilites to assemble it, it would all be cool and working?
  6. Wait...so the GPU i listed says it uses like 600W or something...and i wanted to go like SLI and shit...so you know...do you not just go full additive and be like "Oh, so i need a power supply that at least supports 1200W"?
  7. I'm not sure of what you mean by "Follow your topics!" :I And i did mention it on the bottom what i'll mainly be using it for, and yes, it involves HEAVY video editing
  8. Just a little "Please don't torch me for probably listing something ridiculously stupid", i don't know jackshit about computers...at all. I basically posted about getting a really expensive laptop, and got gunned down on the forums here earlier (not as helpful as i thought you guys would be, but hopefully the fact that i'm building a pc should lighten up the mood a bit). I basically just went on a website, and started picking, while TRYING to make sure all of the parts were compatible So yes, there's probably going to be a bunch of parts here that aren't like, compatible with each others, but i tried my best to make them all like...match in DDR and CPU sockets and all that good stuff, but...there's a lot of numbers and stuff, so i probably missed something or maybe even got the entire compatibility thing wrong. I mainly wanted to go for a Red + White build, without needing to do any actual painting. So yes, i literally sacrificed like...some specs just to get the color scheme right. I'll try and make this as tidy and understandable as possible, while listing the cheapest price i could find for said component in my country's website (the links provided may not ultimately be the link i'm purchasing from, it's mainly just for you to read the specs in an understandable manner) MOBO: ASUS X99-PRO/USB 3.1 [$425] CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K [$450] RAM: 4x Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2666MHz 8GB [$300] (Couldn't find a link for an english website, but the specs are listed if you scroll further down in a hopefully understandable manner) SSD: HyperX Fury SSD 240GB 2,5" [$100] HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB [$60] GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980Ti 6GB G1 GAMING SLI [$1650] Power Supply: Corsair AX 1500i, 1500W PSU [$515] CPU Fan: NZXT Kraken X61 [$170] Case: CM Storm Stryker Gaming Big Tower [$200] (Not the case i actually wanted, but i'm not sure if i can fit stuff like SLI and stuff into a Midi Tower? If possible, i originally wanted to go for NZXT NH440W) Monitor: Asus 28" 4k LED PB287Q [$550] Total: $4420 I think that was pretty much it. As i mentioned earlier, i know NOTHING about pc building and specs and whatsoever, so for all i know, this might look like herecy for you guys. As for the GTX 980Ti 6GB SLI...i feel like i'm doing something that people would consider herecy or something, considering that i actually had to go for one of the most expensive power supplies i could find, just to power those things. As if you'd be considered an idiot for trying to go SLI with them or something.... Also, i'm not sure if i need more than 1 fan? Am i supposed to buy more fans? What i'll be using the pc for is mainly for music production/sound design, video editing, porn, and gaming. Idnno, i feel like i'm about to spend a shitton of money and that gaming at ultra in 4k should be possible
  9. I live in Norway, so most likely not anyone you'd know of, but here's the link to the website anyways http://www.multicom.no/multicom-kunshan-p775-173-4k/cat-p/c100560/p10632895
  10. I did mention it though..several times now :I And mac's aren't really an option, seeing as i mentioned i'm a normal human being who enjoys playing games. Besides, there's a bunch of stuff i'd lose if i'd go to IOS, seeing as most of the stuff i mainly use for my music is windows exclusive
  11. Yes, i see that it's the one with the desktop gpu's, but as mentioned, i cannot find it anywhere in Norway
  12. Sorta looks like it, with the exception og Ghz. The one i listed is at 4Ghz - 4.2Ghz for some weird reason. And they kinda look exactly the same too
  13. Which i mentioned in my ridiculously long post. But i can't seem to find the model that has desktop gpu's, the only one i can find are the ones with mobile gpu's
  14. Well the MSI one comes with a backpack, so you know...that's sorta convenient. The only thing that's annoying me is that i went to an american website, and i could get a much better specced model of the same laptop for the same price, and then i went back to my shitty norwegian website, and the price is literally, exactly the same, except it's 980M, and to my understanding, desktop gpu's dominate mobile gpu's
  15. I just googled that thing and like, i'm not carrying a brick with me dude. Yea, it's fairly portable to be honest, but uh, i'll be using this thing in public, i don't want to look like a weirdo with a powerbrick plugged in next to me, and it also seems like you'd need a monitor so ya. I think laptop would be the only way to go
