  1. How would you go about checking the PSU?
  2. yes, i have tried all of those steps
  3. CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 GPU: EVGA 1060 6GB MB: MSI b350 Mortar Arctic PSU: Corsar CX550M RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2400 2x8GB I built this computer last spring and served me well for most of the year. I was out of town one weekend, and came back to a PC that would not boot. I didn't have many extra components, or friends with PC's to test for broken component. Based off of what I know, I believed it to be a motherboard error, so I RMA'd the board. I got it back last week, and my PC will still not boot. When powering on my system fans and leds turn on, but no post. The board has easy debug leds. On power up, the cpu and dram leds turn on, then off. Then the VGA light turns on, then off. The boot then turns on stays on. I have tried my GPU in another system and had it work. Another GPU in my system still will not post (I have tried in both slots). I have tried using one stick of ram in all 4 slots with both of my sticks. I have reseated my cpu, cooler and a power connectors. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem may be, or any other steps to be taken. I may try to RMA the cpu next week
  4. I was able to test my GPU in a buddy's system, and it worked fine. I would try removing it but ryzen doesn't have igpu. What do you mean by psu power
  5. no post codes, there are only leds for cpu, dram, vga, and boot errors. another note, my case lighting turns on and is powered by external usb
  6. Specs: Mobo msi b350 mortar Arctic CPU ryzen 5 1600 Ram 16 gb Corsair lpx 2400 GPU evga 1060 6 gb Psu Corsair cx550m My PC has been working fine for the last 5 months. Over Thanksgiving, I left my PC on so that I could remote into it using TeamViewer. When I tried to use it, the resolution was way lower than it was supposed to be, so I rebooted, but it never came back online. When I got back the boot error light was on. I have tried reseating the GPU and ram, as well as resetting cmos. Still getting same error. Any thoughts as to what could have happened
  7. I have a Netgear WNDR4500 router that i believe has corrupted firmware. I am trying to update the firmware, but everywhere online i can find about firmware first has you login to the router, which i cannot do in its current state. If anyone has experience with this, or knows how to update the firmware over usb let me know.
  8. is there something bad about the msi board?
  9. there is no post code, my mobo only has 4 leds for cpu, ram, vga, or boot errors
  10. I have assembled a new rig and am currently trying to install windows. Whenever i try to boot off of the usb, i will get about two frames of a loading screen, then it freezes. I considered trying to flash the bios, but i am hesitant to do this because the CPU on RAM error LED's turn on during startup. I am afraid that it will freeze up while it is updating the bios, and then i will have a very expensive paper weight. Any suggestions on what to do? 11. thanks, i got side tracked last night and got back to it today. I reset the cmos and am now able to boot
  12. I recently bought the parts for my first build: R5 1600 MSI B350 Mortar Arctic 8gb Vengence LPX 3000 EVGA 1060 6 GB CX550M PSU Sandisk 240GB ssd the parts came in three seperate shipments. Everything but the case and ssd came yesterday. I assembled what i had, a did a test boot. I got into the BIOS, no problem. I took out the GPU, because it didn't have any support, and called it a night. Today my ssd came and i wanted to make sure it was working, so i hooked it all up again and turned it on. I now am getting no post and my CPU error LED is on. In the manual it says, "CPU is not detected or fail". I did not take out the cooler or cpu, so i have no clue what the problem could be. Please help!
  13. Ill look into that once i get my pc up and running
