  1. This is completely random and I know that they have there own membership to support the channel. I was wondering though if Linus Tech Tips would consider doing a patreon account to be supported that way.
  2. so here is my question i have a lenovo n586 with a A6 4400m running that can run at 2.7 ghz with two cores. I want to upgrade it to a A8 i was looking at a A8 3510mx 1.8 ghz with 4 cores, but im not sure if i should because although it has more cores it has a lower ghz. my question is will i actually see an improvement? If i do can you verse me on ghz vs amount of cores please? Thank you
  3. Okay so im still not sure what processor to by for my 1155 socket mobo, i was thinking either xeon or i5 like the title states but i wasnt sure which. i know that ghz dont matter but i wasnt sure if hyper threading would help with preformance, because i know many games dont take advantage of like quad or six core cpus. my theory is that the more hyper threading the quicker it is. the ghz is the same of the xeon i was looking at compared to the i5 i was going to buy which was a 3570k. i know that xeon doesnt have on board graphics like the i5 does but that is why i was going to buy a 660ti any way. But looking for some thoughts, ideas, or suggestions thank you :)
  4. im just glad a started in a private school that actually taught me it before i started going to public schools
  5. And honestly even if it did get to the point to buy more ram its only 80 dollars for 8gb RAM any way, not unless you have a laptop but even then you can upgrade the sticks.
  6. Linux mint could be another good distro of linux, if you go to distro watch you can see all available ones you would like. Also to answer your question Linux is just like Windows and OS X. Of course if you do start to use linux you would now have to find programs similar to the ones on your Windows machine. Wine is a program you can use to install Windows .exe programs. I hope this helps I have only really scratched the surface of linux. Oh! Also it is open source and there are plenty of forums to help you if you get stuck or want to do more advanced things with linux. Hope this helps
