  1. Thank you very much for your reply. I've ordered that router. I looked at a few reviews, it suites all that I need.
  2. Hi all, I'm looking for a new all in one modem/router for my house. I'm really intrigued with Asus' router line-up. Especially the 'game utilization', easy 'QoS' and 'Live Bandwidth Graphs'. (I really would like a DSL router with Bandwidth graphs) However, the Asus routers do not have a modem, it's just the router. Is there any £150-300 all in one routers, that work with VDSL (DSL line/BT). I cannot seem to find any good ones that actually have DSL support. My ISP is EE (They use BT lines) pay for 80Mb/s and get 75Mb/s. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Amos.
  3. Thanks for your input guys, however I just want to note you guys are working out the speed per person. This is 10Mb/s uncapped for each user, so if the network is idle, someone will be able to use 10Mb/s. Again, I know it isn't great but 10Mb/s up, 10Mb/s down, when all they are doing is really sending emails, viewing pages, etc is perfectly capable. If we can resolve this .PST issue causing all the bandwidth problems, we'd have no issue what so ever. All files get synced as they get edited. A typical word document is around 30-100KB. Thank you for pointing out that buying bandwidth isn't the solution. We got in contact with HP, and they've since added a function to read the PST's and upload the marginally small edit. This has since solved our problems. We sit at around ~30% Utilized network per site. A lot better than around 96%. Thank you all who have contributed.
  4. That HDD and compression analogy is very good. Thank you for your input I will look into this, it's just as it stands right now bandwidth for 30Mb/s asynchronous is already expensive. We had a idea of buying using OneDrive Business as apparently it syncs .PST's as they get edited.
  5. Medium sized business 2000 people. Connected HP Backup is used to backup people’s data in HP’s Datacentre. We have 3 sites, 30Mb split across 3 sites, 10Mb each. 700 people per site (not exactly), our bandwidth is all used because of Connected HP Backup. We’re using QoS but due to the amount of people backing up, modifying files it’s just all backup traffic. The most problematic files are .PST’s (Outlook Archive Files) but this is a critical file we need to backup, we cannot exempt it. Connected HP Backup does not know how to read .PST files so if the file was modified by 1KB it would still upload let’s say the whole 1.5GB’s. That’s not efficient at all. We also do not want to back up on file shares locally in case the user wants to access the backups from home, as It would use our upload bandwidth. We have Office 365 however Office becomes slow and unresponsive when the .OST file reaches around 3.5GB, and if the mail box breaks for some reason you'd have to download potentially 30GB's of data over a 10Mb/s shared network. Which isn't ideal. Question is; what would be a better way of backing up a lot of user’s data without taking all of the bandwidth? Is there a program that can read the small amount of modifications and instead of re-uploading a whole 1.5GB’s it’d just upload the 1KB edit?
