  1. Greetings! I've recently bought an RTX 4060 Ti to replace my broken RTX 3060 Ti. I was wondering if it would bottleneck in a B450 PCIE 3.0 motherboard paired with an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU overclocked to 4.6 ghz and if it would be worth upgrading to a B550 PCIE 4.0 motherboard? I'd appreciate your comments and responses. Thanks in advance
  2. I have an AMD RX 5600XT graphics card whose HDMI port does not work on my Intel i5 9400 gaming pc. Everything works fine, I can just use Intel HD graphics and it will just use the dedicated GPU "RX 5600XT" when gaming. Sadly, when I put the RX 5600XT GPU on my Ryzen 5 3600 (no igpu) rig I had to pair it with my Gefore 210 since the 210's HDMI port is working so I can have display output, but when I play games it still selects/uses the Geforce 210. How do you enable the RX 5600 XT for gaming in this case? Thanks very much in advance, a reply would be appreciated
  3. @R3ep3r I tried to look for an Intel Core i5 PC in my mother's office, all they have left are all Intel Core i3 4th - 6th gen PC's.
  4. Linus Sebastian inspired me to do scrapyard wars. So I got this Intel Core i3 530 PC for free from my mother's office. It comes with 8GB of RAM and a Nvidia GT210 GPU. After a month I managed to save $130 and bought myself an Asus Phoenix GTX 1050 GPU. Now I'm able to play my favorite games such as Need For Speed Most Wanted 2012, Need For Speed Rivals, Titanic Honor and Glory and Assetto Corsa over 60 FPS, ultra settings with 100% GPU usage at 1366x768p resolution. The problem is there are such games like GTA V, GTA IV, Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Simulator that yield to 50% or less GPU usage resulting to unplayable gameplay below 30 FPS. I suspect this is a CPU bottleneck. I plan to upgrade my Intel Core i3 530 to something newer that is available for free in the office, an Intel Core i3 4170 PC. Is it worth the upgrade? Will the newer CPU alleviate or put an end to the bottleneck? I need your comments, replies and suggestions from the Linus Tech Tips community. Thank you very much to all in advance!
  5. I just got a bargain system unit with a Intel core i3 530 CPU and a MSI H55 GD65 motherboard. I overclocked the CPU to 3.8 ghz with the Intel stock cooler installed and 4 system fans. In a CPU stress test I got over 90 degrees celsius. What's the maximum safe temperature for it? Thanks for the reply guys in advance
  6. I have an old Ultrabook where my old files and data are stored in a Toshiba 500GB 5400RPM HDD. It's been a very long time since the last time I used my Ultrabook so I decided to have it a go. I used HD Tune Pro to check if my transfer rates are normal because I want to make sure if the hard drive is still fine and not dying. But when I realised that it achieved a 112 mb/s (maximum) 0.5 mb/s (minimum) -which made me worry. and 85 mb/s (average). Is this something to worry about? Because if that's the case I would back-up my files immediately in order not to lose them. Thanks for the replies in advance, appreciate it.
  7. I ain't mad. lol. I even feel thankful and I appreciate all of your answers. Ultrabook Specs: Intel i7 6700HQ 16GB DDR4L RAM Nvidia GTX 970M 6GB 3TB 5400 RPM 2.5 HDD
  8. So you're saying it's the Nvidia GTX 970M's fault?
  9. My Ultrabook has refresh rate of 60 hertz. Playing at 30 FPS? no way.
  10. Well I have a Kingston HyperX Savage 128GB USB 3.1 Flash Drive and a SanDisk Extreme 480GB Portable SSD USB 3.1 lying around the office. Which one should I use for portability and speeds?
  11. I've been experiencing texture pop ups and glitching in GTA V due to the fact i'm using a 5400 RPM HDD. So, will running GTA V in a USB 3.0/3.1 be better/faster than in a HDD in order to get a better gaming experience? Will it run fine? Thanks in advance.
  12. I'm getting a new Ultrabook for work since I need to upgrade for my work and gaming needs. I came across with 3 ultrabooks with same specs 16GB Ram, Nvidia GTX 970m, 512 PCI-E SSD in RAID 0 but with different CPU, the Intel Core i3 4100u, Intel i5 4200u, and the Intel i7 4500u. Considering they are different CPU's i3's, i5's, and i7's but still they have 2 cores and 4 threads which is same on what i3's have nowadays. Question is, Is there a performance difference between these 3 CPU's? Among the 3 CPU's what should I buy for gaming performance (game use) and battery life (work use)?
  13. I already have an MSI GT72 gaming laptop. Problem is I can't bring that to work because it's an inconvenience due to it's size. Plus the battery life and portability sucks. That's why I have to bring the Acer V5 Ultrabook since it is suitable for work for it has great battery life and portability. I'll give it a day and wait for more feedback/replies from the forums.
  14. As a CEO, I played a couple of times with my staff when things don't get too serious or busy. But when it does I only play during my vacant or free time during office hours.
  15. Thanks for the response guys, The page file is around 7GB+ and ram usage is around 5.5GB below when playing GTA V. So shall I upgrade or not?
