  1. Hi I've run out on space on my 250 GB ssd boot drive. So naturally an upgrade is in order. I've got my eyes set on the Samsung 950 Pro 512 Gb m.2. But I also have 4 HDD + 1 ssd plugged in using sata, and I can't go on without them. The motherboard have 6 sata ports. When looking in the manual for my motherboard (Asus Z170S Sabertooth) it says: The m.2 socket shares sata ports with Sata Express_1 port. Adjust Bios settings to use an m.2 device. I can't completely figure this out. I have 0 sata express devices plugged in, but will all 6 of my sata ports remain active when using an m.2, or will some of my sata ports be deactivated along with sata express_1 when using an m.2? 2. Thanks for the input in solving my audio problem. I appreciate it:)

    1. runit3

      runit3

NP. I had audio crackle and weird shit going on with an old AMD build I did a while back. Piece of masking tape fixed it xD

Next step would have been the drivers, Realtek is always a bucket of fun, figured tape would be the faster test of the two.

      glad everything worked out

  3. I have other headphones, but when i plug my ah d600 into my macbook or iphone there isn't any problems.
  4. Double post because i wasn't able to write anything besides doing a quote.. I seem to have solved my issue. I bought a Dragonfly v 1.2 from audioquest, which at first did it's job. but then it started doing the same. Then i tried removing the realtek drivers, and now there are no problems. So in the end it was a driver issue..
  5. I just borrowed an external usb sound card (creative xmod), and there are zero issues when connected to that. I checked, and there isn't any metal contact, only between the mini jack and mother plug.
  6. I can only describe the front io as an insult to every sound ever made. It's way worse than the back.
  7. Hello Over the last couple of days, audio have started being distorted, and there er crackling noises, pops etc whether I'm using itunes, or watching a movie. My headphones are plugged into the rear io. I have the latest audio driver installed, and when I plug my headphones into my phone there are no problems. So the problem is the pc. Edit: Problem solved - The issue was the realtek audio driver. When uninstalled and the registry cleared of all traces, the problem vanished. After some googling and reading up on asus's ROG forum, it shows that it's a known issue on asus motherboards. Not all have the problem, but som (including me) do. My problem got solved by: Uninstalling the realtek audio driver, and using windows 10s default audio driver. Blocking windows update from automatically updating and installing drivers. As it would just download realtek's driver again.
  8. Hello I thought i might share my results as well, and as 1Revenger1 said, there aren't a lot of skylake results yet:) I overclocked my 6600K to 4.7 Ghz with 1.312 volts with a maximum temperature of 58 degrees Celsius Ran it for 4 hours in Realbench with no problems. Average core temperatures around 52 degrees celsius, with max of 58 degrees celsius. http://postimg.org/image/nb8h2ivnn/ Ran it in Aida64 for 13 hours (stopped it because i had to use my computer). Average core temperatures around 48 degrees celsius, with max of 55 degrees celsius. http://s18.postimg.org/5n759fr2h/Sk_rmbillede_26.png I did also have it at 4.8 Ghz with 1.375 Volts, which did 4 hours of realbench without any issues, but only did 3,5 hours in aida before coming with an error. It didn't crash, but it wasn't stable either. So i decided on 4.7 Ghz with lower volts, as to prolong my cpus good health Overall I'm very pleased, especially since it's my first time overclocking. I also tried Asus auto overclocking, but that froze the computer at 4.5 Ghz, so i decided to do it manually. Good thing there are some good guides out on the good ol web
