  1. Oh thank you, I didn't think I needed to do that with a dedicated gpu. Will get it done now.
  2. Oh it isn't, just built a new. Running a R9 7950X3D on an Asrock Taichi X670E
  3. Any way of fixing this? I've tried DDU, uninstalling it from device manager, updating chipset drivers. Seems to keep reappearing?
  4. Any idea what the ideal idle temps for the R9 7950X3D is?
  5. Around mid 60s when gaming. It starts out at low 40's when first turned on, then it'll settle into 45-49, usually lower end.
  6. Hi all, Just wanted to check, what are the expected idle temps of a 7950x3d with a 360 LT720 Deepcool aio? At the moment I hover between 44-48. I'm probably just being a bit paranoid, this is the most expensive PC i've built and it's only my second one, so wanted to check everything was okay.
  7. Just wanted to check if this is seated correctly? I believe it is as I cannot push it in any further as it's up against the pci tabs on the back of the case and screwed in, just thought it looked a little odd when putting the side back on. Not seeing any graphical issues or any posting issues, so probably just being too cautious and a wonky sticker probably making it look worse.
  8. Oh my days, you're right! I never knew that and I swear it doesn't tell you that in the manual. Thank you!!
  9. Hi all, Just built my new PC, using the Asrock Taichi X670E and the debug led is constantly cycling through debug codes and never settling on one. The PC boots, works and I'm not having any issues with it. Any idea what this could be?
  10. Hey guys, Picking up the items for my next build, 4090, R9 7950X3D. I've got a Samsung 980 Pro 500GB for my boot drive, but looking for the fastest gen 4 storage drive that doesn't require it's own cooling and I've narrowed it down to the 990 Pro and Platinum P41. Any opinions on which to get? Both seem extremely close in performance, but from what I understand, the 990 Pro just edges it?
  11. Hi, Not sure if anyone can help, but for some reason, sometimes when I plug my ROG Pugio 2 in via USB, it won't work at all? Bit frustrating as if it runs out of battery mid gaming session, I have to restart the PC to get the mouse to work plugged in. I've checked device manager, it does recognise the mouse when it's plugged in, but it just won't work? Thanks
  12. In the process of picking up a new monitor… when I can get one in stock!! anyway, I’ve got an i9 9900k and RTX 3080, would you say it’s worth getting a 4K hdr monitor? Or look at 1440p hdr? I can max most games on 1440p and get over 100 FPS, but 4K is a bit up and down, so might need to lower some graphics settings to maintain that 60+.
  13. Awesome. Thanks for the detailed responses! Much appreciated!
  14. Wondering if someone can help me. This isn't really an issue, more of an observation that I'm just curious about. I'm playing Rise of the Tomb Raider, I've capped my fps to 60 at 1440p max settings and I'm hitting it, I can even get over that, but don't see the point putting the stress on the gpu. How come occasionally the fps counter drops to 59, despite being able to get 100+ if I were to uncap fps? Is this just normal for displays to do this? Thanks for any help!
  15. That's good to know, thank you!!
  16. Just tried reseating it before you replied, yeah it's sat in so I guess that's just how this card sits in the slot!
  17. I did hear the lock snap into place, but then it looked like this. Maybe take it out and reseat it?
  18. Just got my TUF OC 3080, installed and started using it. However, it looks as though it isn't sat correctly? I've had no issues with it, no issues with booting the system, so not sure if this is just the way this specific GPU sits?
  19. Thanks all. I assumed that was the case, but nice to get some reassurance. Have a great weekend!
  20. HI all, I've got a 3080 coming tomorrow, so getting my cables ready. I've got 2 PCIe cables that are 8 pin on one side, and 2x 6+2 on the other side with . Is it okay to use 2 of these to power the 3080? I wouldn't feel comfortable using one PCIe cable and then using both the 6+2 ends on the same cable powering the 3080. Eventually I will get the premium sleeved ones from cablemod, but getting this 3080 came as a surprise so wasn't prepared! xD
  21. Technology moves so fast, sometimes 2018 seems outdated but it isn't. I use my i9 9900k for gaming and it's fine, probably being let down a bit by my GTX 1080, but impossible to get a 3080 at the moment.
  22. Got an i9 9900k OC to 5Ghz and just realised it released in 2018! That flew by! Wondered what everyone else considered "old" and worthy of upgrading? I'm guessing it all depends on what your doing with that CPU?
  23. Thank you guys for the help, I appreciate it! What loadline would you recommend? Should I just drop it to auto?
  24. I believe it's stable at 1.34, it's passed all the tests and that. Just worried that the VID cores are so much higher at 1.42. EDIT. Upon running Cinebench R20, it seems those VID voltages drop down to around the same as my vcore voltage, so this post might have been pointless!
  25. So I've got my i9 9900k OC to 5Ghz, and it seems anything below 1.34v on the vcore causes my PC to get the BSOD Watchdog clock error. However, I've noticed the VID voltages are much much higher. I'm new to this OC and I followed a guide from Gigabyte in order to get my OC to where it is, so not sure if I should be worried about these VID voltages? I believe I have my LLC set to Extreme, is this why these voltages are high? I've seen some people saying I should leave LLC at Auto? Thanks for the help.
