  1. Hey guys! i think i may have some problems with my Asus Strix 1070ti Advanced Edition, for all that matters i think it underperforms, my buddy just got an MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X and he has higher frames in games than me and we tested some furmark 1080p preset test and has a better score than me there aswell. Let me give a bit more details: My Rig: Motherboard: Asus Strix B350F-Gaming CPU: Ryzen 7 1700x, running at stock speeds Cooler: Coolermaster Masterliquid 240 RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB, 3000mhz GPU: Asus Strix 1070ti Advanced Edition SSD: Western Digital Green 240gb HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB PSU: Corsair CX750M, 750w My friends rig: Motherboard: Gigabyte AB350 Gaming 3 CPU: Ryzen 5 1600x also running on stock speeds RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB, 3000mhz GPU: MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X HDD: WD Blue 1TB PSU: Seasonic s12II 620w He still has better frames than me and better results in gaming/benchmarks even when i run my CPU at 3.9ghz on all cores and i add another 100mhz on the GPU Boost Clock and 200mhz on the Memory clocks with the power targets slided to max. Any ideeas on what is going on? i cant seem to figure it out!
  2. thanks for the tip my dude! i really appreciate it! i'll be waiting on some other opinions aswell though!
  3. I'm asking now because there might be a possibility to take it on even earlier, somewhere around January of 2018, 6 months would be a worst case scenario, so, which one do you think it's gonna be better for that type of workload?
  4. Hey! Thanks for the quick response! I'm thinking about keeping my current PSU but i'm a bit scheptical, i have a Corsair CX750m, it's more on the budget side, is it ok to pair it with these types of build?
  5. Hello fellow tech enthusiasts! I'm in need of help with a future build that i'm planning to do in about 6 months from now. But first let me tell you what type of user I am. All i am intrested to do with my build is game and stream at the same time using only one rig, i am usually streaming competitive games as Overwatch on my stream so my gameplay performance shouldn't be affected that much and i want a decent stream aswell, somewhere about 1080p 60fps with a 4500-5000 kbps setting ( my internet can actually do more than that, somewhere around ~300mb/s download speeds and ~140-150mb/s upload speed, thank God for Romanian internet ) and my GF is actually gonna use the PC aswell for some Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and maybe some Sony Vegas editing aswell. My budget is around 1800 US dollars tops, and i can't pick the freaking platform!!! On one side Ryzen would be freaking great but i saw that the 8th gen intel 8700k would totally rock aswell, what the heck am i gonna do now? i mean i have no clue on what to choose, that's why i'm making this post here, help a dude out!! I'm gonna link some pcpartpicker builds down below, please let me know what you think! Intel Build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vRbc2R AMD Build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YzsjtJ I know i already said this but please guys! I need help, give me some feedback on the parts lists above! Thank you!
  6. for example, the same parts in Romania: MSI - B350 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard - 124,81$ Ryzen 7 1700 - 390,22$ G.Skill not available in Romania - Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 16GB DDR4 2400MHz CL16 Dual Channel Kit - 148,93$ for a total of 756$ Right now a 4690k is about - 150$ used I'm gonna wait and buy the R7 1700, until then i can't really do much things to my stream (like adding overlays and stuff) because my i5 will totally choke. Thanks alot for the help provided @JDE i apprreciate it!
  7. damn that actually looks really good, but the thing is that in Romania we don't have the same prices and apparently someone will trade me a 4790k for my 4690k + 60$ should i go for it?
  8. That i know, and i would actually really love a CPU like the R7 1700, it would be perfect for me, it does ok in gaming and it does even better in workstation apps for a pretty nice price. But, should i buy a 4790k right now for 220$? or just hold my shit together and put some money aside for a Gigabyte Gaming K5, 16 gigs of DDR4 @ 2400mhz and the R7 1700?
  9. i don't really have the money right now for the Mobo, ram and cpu change, but will that provide a better price/performance in streaming than just buying the 4790k? i already have 16gb of ram and a asrock z97 anniversary board. i would come way cheaper that way, but any ideeas on how good the 4790k is for streaming? since i really want to put up some quality streams so that people watching won't just see boxes everywhere
  10. Hey guys! i'm the happy owner of an i5 4690k, my first system ever built actually. i'm getting into streaming at the moment and i find myself really left behind with some fps on my stream, i cannot sustain a full 60 fps in overwatch(on the twitch stream), the game runs perfectly fine 90+ fps actually (GTX 970) but the stream is dipping and loosing frames and i hate that. The question is, should i buy a used 4790k, overclock it and hallelujah it will be better. Or should i just start saving up some money and go for that shiny new ryzen or wait until the 8th generation of i7's come out and change mobo, ram and cpu?? Please help me, i have no budget for a new system right now and i was wondering if i can cut some corners using that 4790k that i could get fairly cheap from a trusted source. any ideas?
  11. Any opinions on the Gigabyte G1 Gaming R9 390? It has a good price tag, but i'm open to any suggestions! And also i would like to know from which card i could get the most eye-candy from, that's where the nvidia things come in, are those worth paying more? or i should get away really fine with it? just for the record i have an cx750m power supply, i was just pushed to buy this PSU because, i work as a game tester at EA, and my work pc has a GTX 980, intel i7 - 4790, 32 gigs of ram, and almost every one of them have installed this particular PSU, they are running day and night, rarely beeing turned off (just think of the games we are testing. they are not that good optimised in alpha stages) and they work excellent! So my question is, will a CX750M handle a R9 390, intel i5-4690k and 16gb of ddr3 1866mhz memory? Or should i go with the gtx970 just to have some head room on consumption? Since alot of you are saying this, electricity doesn't cost that much where i live, so having a R9 390 wouldn't be a problem to pay it's electricity costs. Thanks so much for the replies! I guess Linus is right in all his videos, this is a really helpfull comunity, really love it here! So what do you guys think? i'm waiting for more responses!
  12. Hello guys! I've been working for a full 3 months just to save up some money and make my gaming pc, but now i have a huge problem! I just want to max out all the present and maybe future games at 1080p, i have the money for a Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970, but will i get the most bang for my buck? I have seen alot of videos and reviews on the radeon r9 390, people say it's an awesome card for alot of tasks and gaming, I'm kind of at a decision problem here, don't know what to do! Please help!
  13. Thanks alot for the help guys! I will take a much closer look at PSU's, for now the CX series will be out of the way, i'll try and get something better. By the way, i'm from Romania, and some PC parts are not available here or they are kind of hard to find. I've been searching on 3 different sites, and only one site has a EVGA PSU. The only PSU i found and was kind of good in terms of price is a Seasonic M12II Evo, 620W PSU What do you guys think? is it good enough? My budget is around 1100 US dollars, but as i mentioned, prices are different in Romania than in other countries. For the PSU, i'm willing to spend somewhere around 95$ - 100$. And the seasonic PSU i talked about earlier is somewhere around 105$. Is it a good choice?
  14. Hello everyone! It's my first time posting here! I trust this forum more than i trust google or other sources of information mainly because of the YouTube channel Linus has. To cut it straight. I've got a huge question. What power supply do you guys think i should get? I'm building my first gaming rig! it was a childhood dream for me and now that i'm employed i started to put money aside for some months and i've come up with these parts! Motherboard: Gigabyte H97-HD3 CPU: Intel Core i5 - 4690k GPU: Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 16gb (2x8gb), DDR3, 1600mhz CPU Cooler: Cooler Master 212 Evo HDD: Western Digital Blue, 1TB Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24F1MT Monitor: Benq LED GW2270H Case: Deepcool Tesseract SW This is as much as my buget goes. I'm planning on overclocking in the future, somewhere around 4.3ghz for the CPU. With all this info, the real question is: Will a Corsair CX600M be enough? Or should i get the CX750M? I'm opting for these power supplies because that's how much my budget will go, and i don't want to go wrong with the PSU. I should mention that i'll be using this rig mostly for gaming and possible in-game recording and video editing (although i'm not sure about this because i'm lazy, LOL) Please help!
