  1. Amazing incite. The res is the 2.0 version, had to check that to be sure. The case is kind of a bonus throw into the package, It doesn't took amazing (its a box) but is aluminum and comes apart 100% which i thing could benefit me if i were going to attempt some mods. I do have some experience with aluminum and know a guy with a shop that can help me out as well. With the rads, since their so large would low rpm fans still not provide adequate cooling the fins don't seem to be very high density?
  2. I have the 256gb Pro and love it, i cant see the need to raid two 128gb, costs more, more overhead and if one fails you will lose that data.
  3. My plan was to use the pumps redundantly, in serial most likely. What do you think about the case, there not a lot of info about it our there.
  4. I have the R4, its quite a nice case but fitting a lot of gear in there can get a little tight.
  5. Sorry i should have mentioned that these are Canadian prices. Thanks for your input, I welcome more.
  6. Evening, I am working towards my first water cooling build in about 5 years and a lot has changed. I am saving a bit of money by buying some things used. Radiator: 2 x Hardware Labs The Black Ice® GTX480 http://www.hwlabs.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=15&Itemid=12 Reservoir: Koolance rp-452x2 http://koolance.com/rp-452x2-dual-5-25in-reservoir-for-1-2-pmp-450-s-pumps Pumps: 2 x Swiftech MCP655 http://www.swiftech.com/mcp655.aspx This is not 100% directly related to water cooling but i love the modularity of this case for modding. Case: XSPC H2 - 100% anodized aluminum http://www.xs-pc.com/cases/h2-tower-case-10pci Everything is 1 year or less old and is all working and relatively clean. I have worked the bundle of these down to $525 which i feel is amazing. What do you think?
  7. I am fairly sure that this 680 is going to be a good buy. Any tests to run before i but it, i have never picked up a used card before. He has the receipt the the card, it is still under warranty until March 2014.
  8. Is 1440 actually worth the extra time and cost? (any used 4gb gpus are about $100 more, plus the cost of the monitor). By the way i think its worth noting that i am just cheap, thus the used card.
  9. Currently i am gaming at 1080p, i was looking into gettings a 2560x1440 monitor but didn't thing my current gpu would handle it very well. i am a bit concerned about the 2gb of vram for 1440, would that be a big problem? I had looked at getting a used 7950 for 250 with 3gb of vram but i have hear horrible things about the drivers. also with a 680 i can always sli them in the future if i need to, until mid July with the new driver release i would never consider crossfire.
  10. Yes i have looked at the 770's but their 420 ish + tax where i live, which come out to around 490, so the 680 is still ~140 cheaper. From the benchmarks i have seen for the 770 are not that much better than the 680 and uses the same architecture.
  11. THANKS Hi all, With the release of the 700 series of Nvidia cards a lot of people are selling their 680. (Who knows why...) I see this as an opportunity to upgrade from my GTX 460 2gb. I found someone selling a 1 year old Asus DirectCu 680 2gb for 350 (Canadian) Is this worth the upgrade? Or should i look for a 4gb card model of the 680 for about $425/450? If it is worth it what should i look for before buying, I wan planning an running afterburner and playing a game or 2 to make sure everything is running fine. Thanks Edit I am fairly sure that this 680 is going to be a good buy. Any tests to run before i but it, i have never picked up a used card before. He has the receipt the the card, it is still under warranty until March 2014. Final Edit I did find a new GTX 680 4 gb that i worked down to $400 however it is 4 hours of driving away. that will probably cost me $30/40 in gas and ofc 9 hours of driving. Final thoughts?
