Please do not take the RX 480 as reference. It will be replaced by VEGA. My questions is..will the FX 8350 by a bottleneck to any high end GPU at this resolution?

Of course I could wait for ZEN, but I just want to catch some good deals on christmas sale. That is why I am asking for an FX 8350 on detail The question should maybe: How much does it bottleneck? 55-60 FPS should be at least the minimum.

Hey, I was just thinking about building a new LAN / Multimedia / Gaming Rig for my girlfriend. Since the AMD FX 8350 is on sale, I was thinking about picking this one. Of course it will be enough for any LAN Gaming or Multimedia applications or Photoshop. But my girlfriend also likes to play AAA titles at her 3440x1440p monitor (with free sync). Will the FX 8350 be a great bottle neck at this resolution? At the moment it would be paired with an AMD RX 480, which will be swapped out for Vega next year. Reading reviews and watching benchmarks on Youtube are confusing. Some say it will bottleneck. Others say no, cause everything over 1080p is GPU bound anyway, so no more difference in case for the CPU on higher resolutions. What are the experiences of current FX 8350 (or 8320 / 8370) users? Thanks.

This really sucks, because it is really annyoing, because I am hearing it over my speakers at normale volume during gaming. EVGA is a brand, that accepts it. Just as the guy from the support offered me. If burning in the card does not help, I could RMA it. But how long shall I wait? I am mean, I want to install my costum water loop next week. Maybe I should really try a UPS / power conditioner with surge protector, RFI and EMI filters? With my GTX 1070 it was really a slight buzz. Before I had GTX 980 TI, which died after just 8 months. With their power draw I had also nearly the exact same buzzing, but not as bad I think.

I have been stressing out my card for 2 nights in Unigine Heaven and played some intensive games, but the coil whine, or buzzing sound better to say, does not seem to get away by any matter. I think the PSU is not the faulty on here, since it delivered my 1070 well enough. Also I tried different wall sockets, no changes. The EVGA support just says, that I should burn in my card and see if it is getting better. As I already wrote, no. Not until now. If that does not work, I could RMA my card. So should I RMA my card now? But I think the chance of getting another bad 1080 is very high. Really dont know what to do so far?

But that would be strange. With my Palit GTX 1070 SuperJetstream just before, I never had any issues. This card was running for 3 months more than silent, even under full load.

I also already read that the fans are the ones causing it. When I put on my EK water block, I will not have any other problems with the fans. But what if that is not the case? I mean that buzzing sound is even during idle, where the fans are not spinning at all...

Hey guys, I recently bought a new EVGA GTX 1080 SC ACX 3.0. It displays everything very well without any issues, but it does this really annoying humming or buzzing sound. Even when idling at the desktop. Under load it is even getting worse and audible over the cards fans. What can I do here? Is there any possible solution? I already contacted the EVGA support, but still no reply. The power supply in my rig is a "Be quiet Dark power pro 11 650W". It has 25A on the PCI E rails. Still enough for a 1080, which requires at least 22 A. Motherboard is an ASUS Maximus VIII Impact. I also tested this card in a second rig with identical hardware, but with a MSI Z170a Gaming Pro Carbon. Same effect still there. So motherboard does not seem to be the faulty one here. Also I do not believe it is a matter of my PSU. I am going to plan on water cooling next week in my holidays, but not with this card as it is now. What suggestions or solutions do you have for me?^^ Thanks.

Your using your Acer XR341CK with your pair of Titan X or your pair of R9 290X? Because at the moment my GTX 1070 will not be able to maintain frame rates above 75 on ultra settings for games like Witcher 3, The Forest and Battlefield 1 on Ultra Settings. So at least, I would need a GTX 1080, which is not a good deal at all, when it comes to price to performance point. And AMD has unfortunately no real option for 55+ FPS gaming at 3440x1440p at Ultra settings right now.

Hey guys, I am planning to upgrade my monitor to an 3440x1440p 21:9 ultrawide. At the moment the LG 34UC88-B should be one of the best bang for buck monitors for around 700€ here in Germany. Mainly usage will it be for gaming, some productivity and working stuff, watching movies. But there also a view downsides I am struggling with: - Will be smooth gameplay and productivity possible at a 75 Hz refresh rate? (Because I would come from a 144 Hz monitor) - Should I put some hope in the new "Vega" graphics cards from AMD to get propper us of Free Sync at High to Ultra settings? Because I use a Nvidia graphics card and do not know if I should give AMD another try...had already bad experiences with drivers, the Fury X (pump and coil whine on 3 models) and Fury from Sapphire (also strong coil whine) The other thing is, there a not many G-Sync (Acer and ASUS) alternatives for just incredible 1.299€ around, which lack of quality at this price point. So should I maybe wait for better 100 Hz Gsync monitors? Or even 100Hz Freesync monitors like the Samsung CF791, which has its own VA-Panel. I really can't decide what to do. Hope you have guess for me. Thanks.

So after some more research and first reviews for the GTX 1070 are out, benchmarks for the RX 480 are getting proofed by different sources and I think the RX 480 can not match the performance of the R9 Fury and GTX 1070 anyway. So the decision should be made between the R9 Fury or the GTX 1070. I have both of them at my hands and do not know with which one I should go with, when I am going to build my rig next week. Also it is even harder, because I own a free sync monitor. But unfortunately the R9 Fury is lacking 5-20% of performance against the GTX 1070. Or may I throw FreeSync against the performance loss? Because, when I go with the 1070, I will sell my BenQ XL 2730Z and buy a Dell S2716DG. But thinking into future is also part of my decision...no one knows how Vega is going to perform, that I could stick with my current monitor. Will it be much faster than the next Nvidia GPUs (honestly I do not think so). I hate being influenced by so many means and I also hate the fact that we always must decide between G-Sync and Free-Sync. You always need another monitor for AMD or Nvidia. So guys after complaining that much and giving my confusion to you...how would you decide and why? Sapphire R9 Fury Nitro OC or Palit GTX 1070 Super Jetstream Thanks a lot.

I think you are right, NVME is not going to give me any performance gain. So I will decide between den 250GB 850EVO or 256 GB 850 Pro. Thanks for your help.

Why should the 500GB 850 EVO be better than there little fellows? The reasosn is simple...I do not want the scratching noise of a HDD in my computer! I am aksing for SSD choice on purpose!

I am not going to downgrade. As I wrote, I will keep my 500GB 850 Evo for games and music. I want to have a separate additional SSD just OS and apps. And therefor I asked advice, which SSD to take...

I just do not need more than that for my OS and apps. The SSD s I listet are not slowly at all, even if they have just little capacity. My question was, which one of the listet I should get? Or what exact SSD would you recommend?

Hey guys, Unfortunetly I have to set up a new rig with windows 10. Till now I was using a Samsung 850 EVO with 500GB for OS, Games, Liberies, music and so on. So now I want to separate things a bit. I was planning to use the existing one for games and music only. So.I need a SSD for Windows 10 and applications. Should I go with the 120GB 850 EVO, the 128GB 850 Pro or even to a 950 Pro Nvme? What would you recommend for fast boots, office working and multiple task browsing? Thanks.

Hey Ryan, I just forgot to leave a message last week. It has been the graphics card for sure. I test it with an old GTX 570, which I borrowed from a friend. At the moment I am stuck with Intels integrated graphics In the meanwhile, I had also sent back the graphics card and it is just trouble as predicted. They sad so me, that they could not find the serial number for identification. Of course not, because they are on the PCB under cooler (which as to mounted by costumers care), since it is a kit. So I did this for them at the weekend and hope everything will be fine now. Not that they are telling me, I just broke the card by disassembling the cooler. Then I will run crazy. Nevertheless, I had another issue. I do not know, If my PSU (Corsair H750i) caused this defect on the graphics card memory. Normally it is a high end PSU with a good 12 V rail and voltage output. But it has some slight buzzing, even not under load. May this be also a reason, that the MSI GTX 980, KFA GTX 980 TI and the old Gainward GTX 570 had weird buzzing sounds under load. On a Sapphire R9 Fury Nitro, which I bought for 375€ this weekend, it was extremely loud. So I may be pretty sure, that my PSU is causing some trouble here. Or am I just unlucky and getting 4 graphics card, which all have buzzing noise??? Thanks.

After 6 months of using the card (I was using it for 8 months) you only get a credit note for the current price of the card back, which is around 700€. Of course I could almost buy a GTX 1080 for that, but I wanted to have a fair performance to price comparison for the new card. And a GTX 1080 is out of the line, since it sits at the top end from 700 to 800 € and is outperforming anything.

Hey guys, last Sunday died my GTX 980 Ti and I had take it out of my loop and went for RMA. But It can not be replaced, since it is not more available in Germany (Europe). So I am looking for and alternative now. To go on equal perfomance level a ASUS Strix GTX 1070 for 529€ shall be fine. But on the other hand I am looking into the red corner after years now. The Sapphire R9 Fury Nitro dropped significant in price the last weeks and I could get one for 375€. But of course it is around 10-20% slower in 1440p. Also I am not sure about the new crimson drivers, how they perform and so on. Or is it worth to wait for RX 480, which should perform again 10% slower than a R9 Fury, but has only a pricepoint of around 250-300€. Anyway I got a 1440p free sync monitor, which was my last years christmas gift. But it is not a must have for me to use free sync. So Nvidia cards will be fine, since I can push high framerates. What do you guys think and suggest, what would be the best solution? Thanks a lot.

That is a pretty good idea as well, but I am lacking time to do that. Tomorrow after work, I will take out the 980 Ti of the system and it will go RMA. I will close the loop just for the CPU and put in an old 570 I have found. Then I will be sure that hopefully PCI Slot and PSU are alright and not causing the trouble...

Hey, so I did some testing (without reinstalling the OS) and I am pretty sure it is the GPU. I did Windows RAM test without any failure, did Mem Test twice also without any failure. Then I just wanted to watch temperatures with HW Monitor. And I couldnt find my graphics card. I opened GPU-Z. There it has been detected, but just with 2990 MB instead 6144 MB of memory. So I am pretty sure it is the GPU and not the PCI-Slot or power supply. What do you think?

Yes that makes sense Hopefully there are not going to be any problems (since it was a 900€ card that time). Could we also exclude other components like the motherboard and a broken PCI slot or something like that?

This would be the worst case, since I have to open my complete loop. I bought the card at the end of September 2015, so RMA should not be any problem. In Germany is also a 2 year warranty minimum. But I am a bit afraid of that they will deny the RMA. Because for this version of the KFA2 980 Ti, the cooling block is delivered seperatly and you have to mount it yourself...
