  1. Hi, I need a laptop for work and was wondering if you guys had any recommendations. I'm currently looking at the Dell XPS 13 since it seems like it's held in pretty high regard by the tech community. Does anyone have other suggestions? There is no price limit as my company is footing the bill on this one, so just throw out the fastest laptops you can think of which will boost my productivity :)
  2. Thanks guys!!!!!! He started to behave more socially and we just caught a movie along with a bunch of our friends today. He still games but it's nowhere near as extreme as it used to be.
  3. The fact that I live in an asian country doesn't make it better i suppose. Our adults and teachers do have very high expectations of us and they wouldn't think about the harshness and consequences of an action.
  4. Well I guess we agree on one thing at least. The issue was that i didn't want to appear to nosey into their family affairs, so i let them handle the situation.
  5. Fair enough, probably wasn't the best thing to do but it was his parents who did it, so it's not like they consult me over every move to make. I assumed they would know best on how to help their kid
  6. Thank you, yes i do notice he relents a little when we talk about games, so i guess that's a start.
  7. i was kidding about the sabotage bit. And i am not forcing him into submission, unless that's what you call caring about friends.
  8. Thanks for the suggestion, but yeah he doesn't want to go for these things.
  9. I doubt i will be able to sabotage his computer, but yes i have talked to his parents about it and while they are worried as well they don't know how to help. Earlier in this thread i mentioned that he skipped school. That was because his parents took his router away, he straight up refused to attend school till they returned it.
  10. You did say that people have different ways of dealing with things. I know my friend, alright, he will approach the people he trusts when he has difficulties.
  11. Well, I'm sorry you had to go through what you did, but I'm fairly certain this is stems directly from too much gaming. I'm not talking nights even, the minute school ends he's dashing back home to play games. I'm one of his closest friends and he used to tell me everything, too. I doubt he would resort to something else without at least talking it out first.
  12. Talking is the hard part since we barely see him outside of school these days. In fact, there was a point he skipped classes, but that stopped for now.
  13. Well, I would still want to help. Yes you are right i might damage our friendship but I don't think you could call this current state friendship? He refuses to communicate with me or our group or friends and just stays home all day!!!
  14. Hey guys, I suspect a buddy of mine has a gaming/pc addiction and i really want to break him out. He's become a zombie, refuses to hang out or go out, and just becomes more antisocial by the day. He is getting more snappy too, and his grades are suffering. This isn't the fun friend i got to know before...does anyone have similar experiences or ideas to get him free of this? Your help is appreciated, thanks!!!
