  1. Thanks for your help, this solved the problem!
  2. I hadn't thought of that, but what theme would it switch to? When it's on the other monitor it looks just like that (The 2nd image) but when it's on the main monitor it looks like the first image (Unless i do the aforementioned trick). Why would windows use two different themes for the same computer? Edit: With that, these color changes affect other applications too, so I don't think it can be just the theme. I think that was just my accent color not loading in properly, which is something I'll look into.
  3. For a long time, my secondary monitor (Gateway FFD17775W, 720p LCD) has had what I consider to be superior colors to my main monitor (Acer KA240H, 1080p LCD). When I went into windows settings and select "Duplicate these displays" and then select revert, the colors are actually transferred over from the secondary display to the main display. I really prefer these colors, and would like to find a way to keep them on the main monitor, but whenever I reboot the colors go back to the way they were. Would anyone know how to keep them? Many of you are going to immediately tell me to calibrate my monitor. I have! Many times! I can't seem to get the colors even near the same. Whenever I think that I've gotten close to the colors I'm looking for, I look around and see that I've ruined something else (For example, the settings menu is supposed to be black. If I manage to find that I've gotten my settings panel to look as I want after calibrating, I find that somewhere else many colors are overexposed). I've attached some pictures, it seems as if the back-light is making a major difference between the two. Sorry that they're blurry, the details shouldn't really matter though. I promise, all I've done between these two pictures is change the colors by clicking "Duplicate these displays", then clicking revert. The image that has a strong back-light is how it normally looks, the darker one is what I would prefer. Please let me know if you know how to fix this.
  4. The monitor appears to be assembled in such a way that it is impossible to take apart, unless I want to crack the plastic casing. There aren't any screws or anything that could be used to disassemble it.
  5. So I just got a new monitor from goodwill (Which is likely why I am having this problem) and it seemed promising. It was 1080p, and large, and only cost 15$. About 3 hours later I now see why it cost so little. About every 15 minutes of consistent use, the screen turns white starting at the right edge and spreads across the entire screen, and then spazes out before freezing. Turning off the screen fixes it, but only a few minutes later it happens all over again. I did some research and heard that this could be due to overheating, but I'm not sure how to fix that. I tried using both DVI and VGA and neither helped. After using DVI, the VGA cable refused to work, and now the monitor only works with DVI. I was able to capture it on film (It wasn't hard, it occurred multiple times during the time it took me to write this post) and it can be seen in the attached file. I have the receipt, so I could return this monitor, but I would really like to get it working if I could. Thank you for any help. HDV_0486.MP4
  6. I've had GeForce Experience for about 7 months now. It was working fine up until about a month or two ago when the settings stop saving. Now I can't use shadowplay (Sorry, share) without re-enabling it every time I start up my computer. I've found that in the task manager an app called "Nvidia settings" starts on startup but has an exclamation mark next to it, as if it's not functioning properly. I've also found "Nvidia share" in the task manager after I've enabled it in the GeForce experience. I've been wanting to start up a YouTube channel, so it'd be great if I could get gameplay footage instead of pressing Alt+F10 only to discover I forgot to enable share. I've tried uninstalling GeForce a few times and it hasn't worked... Thanks for any help.
  7. So I just got Cyanogenmod 13 only to find that it comes with numerous pre-installed apps. I knew I was going to use googles apps, so I just uninstalled them with titanium backup. I must've screwed up somewhere along the line, because now my contacts are gone. They're synced with my google account, and they are still there (I can veiw them on my computer). But they don't show up in the Google contacts app and they aren't there for my text conversations. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the app, logging out and then back in (Of my google account) and restoring things via titanium backup, all with no avail. There has to be a solution to this, as google does still have my contacts. A second problem, I can't seem to get rid of CM's contacts app. Titanium backup and a few other uninstallers I've tried haven't worked. Help please Edit: I just found out that if you bring the CM contacts app to the app info tab it asks if you want to replace it with the stock app. If you say yes, it automatically uninstalls. Genius. I wish I found this sooner. Edit: I just found that I have no sync abilities for contacts at all. When I check my account for things I can sync contacts isn't an option. I need to find a way to get contacts sync-able again. Edit: Solved. I downloaded the google contact sync APK and enabled it to work by giving it permission, now it's fine.
  8. Yea, the case is super cheap. It's my biggest regret in my build.
  9. Alright. I'm assuming I'll need an external card to have access to them in the front of the case yes?
  10. Alright, I built a PC back in January and it's been great save a few exceptions. Chief among them: the 3.5mm audio jack is totally broken. Originally it just wouldn't work with my headphones. I'd plug them in and some audio would come through, but not all. I would have to bend my headphones where they were plugged in to get them to work. Now my computer has started registering audio devices that don't exist. It sends me notifications at random times saying I've plugged in headphones, when I haven't. Help please.
  11. So I got a brand new pair of Bluetooth headphones and they're already skipping audio constantly. I'm standing right next to the source, and I'm not playing it loud. Is there a way to fix this?
  12. Thanks! That one sounds great. I think I'll use it. Thanks for your help!
  13. Soooo, what do I do? I'm really wanting to use the 212 EVO, but it won't fit without modification. Is there anything I can do to make it fit?
  14. I have a standard tower PC with an AMD Athlon X4 860K. I want to overclock it to 4.4 to 4.5 gigahertz. I was going to get a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO, but I found my case (Sentey GS-6008 Plus) only supports coolers of up to 150mm, where the CoolerMaster is 159mm. I measured, and if the CoolerMaster is actually 159mm, it won't fit. Is it actually 159mm? If so, do you have any suggestions for good compact coolers that could meet the overclocking requirements and cost about 30-40$?
  15. NM I fixed it. Thanks for your help!
  16. I figured out it's tied to my google account. I think something might have happened, and maybe someone denied the site I want to use access to the mic on my account (As I used to share a computer) Is there any way to change this?
  17. I've heard of that, but I can't find the media tab. Thanks for the help
  18. I've checked there. I've tried the mic settings several times. Any other ideas?
  19. I'm trying to use a device that hooks in through a mic port on chrome. I got it to work in Microsoft Edge, but when I plug it into chrome, I don't get any drop down asking for permission. And when I try to use it, it doesn't work, meaning it's likely being denied permission. How can I fix this?
  20. See, I don't understand much of that. I'll look into it before I install, and if you could give me some of your time to explain it that would be great, but right now I'm trying to figure out which distro to get so I can look into anything I need to know about that in particular one. Or does the distro I use not matter? I just don't know. I am nub. I'm planning to get Linux Mint and dual boot it with Windows. Anything extra important I should know? (I've heard a lot about these package managers, and they sound important.)
