  1. Thought I might add something out of topic. In my coutry our hospitals, fire departments and police stations still use XP as primary OS, because the workers are too incompetent to use newer OS's.
  2. Well maybe that's how it is with old drives today they work tomorrow they don't
  3. Thanks for the tip I'm going to try it on my other PC some day this week.
  4. Hahah thanks for the advice
  5. Mostly school work and a lttle bit of retro gaming.
  6. As I said the laptop is old. I mean 2009 old. Although it is capable of running win 7 (because it is over the minimum requirement of 1 ghz CPU speed) I much prefer runing xp on it. I haven't tried pluging the HDD in another PC yet.
  7. Also, if needed, I can post pictures of the partitionning stage.
  8. I have an old netbook Acer Aspire One KAV60 runing windows XP which doesn't want to start/boot. When turning it on it displays that windows didn't start successfully, because of a recent hardware/softwade change. Under that it shows a few options (none of which work): Safe Mode Safe Mode with Networking Safe Mode with Command Promt Start Windows Normally Selecting option 4.(Start Windows Normally) goes to the windows xp loading screen and after a few moments it bluescreens and restarts. Selecting options 1-3 shows this "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\windows\system32\drivers..." after which it bluescreens and restarts, repeating the cycle. I thought that maybe windows got corrupted or something like that so I decided to reinstall windows. Anyways I burned an .iso on a memorystick using Win To Flash (since it is a netbook the only way to install windows is to use a memorystick because there is no DVD Drive) and pluged it in the laptop. I had no problems until I got to the formating/partitioning stage when my HDD partition wasn't present. Only my flash drive was recognised as a partitionable space.*I'm shure that I'm doing everything right because this is not my first time doing it.* So my question is has the HDD somehow stopped working and it needs replacement or is the problem something else. Ohhh and also I disassembled the laptop to unplug and plug the HDD, thought I should say that, although it didn't do anything hah.
  9. Guys do you know any news about the new nVidia Pascal architecture and series of GPUs?
  10. That's what i thought. I really don't know why i asked maybe it was just so I'm sure. Thanks though! Do you know what does the letter after the Z170 chipset mean? (Example: Z170A, Z170X.)
  11. But wait doesn't like the whole Z170 chipset, no matter if it is gaming or not, can overclock?
  12. Guys what's the difference between a gaming motherboard and a basic motherboard with a Z170 chipset? Particularly between these two: Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3 and MSI Z170A GAMING M3. (it's and Intel 6700K build) And also what does the letter after the Z170 chipset mean? (Example: Z170A, Z170X.) I'd also like to hear any recommendation for another motherboard. Thanks!
  13. Thanks for replying! The budget is about 1500$-1700$. I'd be glad for your help.
  14. So guys I'm new to PC building so I want to learn some more about motherboard chipsets. Soon I'm going to be building a new PC and I don't understand what's the difference between all of those different chipsets: B150, H110, H170, Z170 (It is an Intel Skylake 6700k build). Do I need a Z170 to be able to overclock my CPU? What's the best chipset for a high-end build? Right now I can't choose between this two motherboards the Gigabyte GA-Z170-D3H and the MSI H170 Gaming M3. I need help. And also I'd like to hear any recommendation for another motherboard if you have any. Thanks!
