  1. So, cause I have been away from this deployment of gWifi points, I have had no reason to check it until recently, but just got back to take a look at it, and now if you want to check what devices are connected to your Google Wifi, you need to agree to send the data to the cloud under their nest privacy settings in google home. Anyone else know when this behavior started, and find it absolutely stupid that you need to agree to share your data to see what devices are connected to your network, a basic thing that any router should be able to show with no problems, even on an older, non-mesh unit? On a completely unrelated subject, anyone know of a relatively cheap mesh wifi network that does do port forwarding, custom DNS settings (fuck you Shaw), and doesn't lock you out of seeing what devices are on your network? Asking for a friend and not because I now want to toss these nodes out. Screenshots
  2. I got an 850 Evo recently, and a SATA to USB adapter. I also got the lower end of the T580 ThinkPad and wanted to upgrade the 500GB HDD to a 1TB SSD. So, I get a new 850 Evo, plug it in, and the system refuses to boot. OS is installed on a separate SSD in the WWAN slot, so I know it's not a lack of the SSD. Symptoms include unable to boot the system, as in stuck on the preboot diagnostics screen if SSD is connected internally, trouble connecting the drive to the adapter, though I think it's more likely a bad plug on the SSD, as the HDD it replaces boots fine. There is no warranty on the drive, so I tried opening it, thus probably voiding any warranty it could have had. The curious thing is, if I plug and replug it in an external adapter, it eventually catches on and realises, thus allowing to access the contents of the drive. So, I'm fairly certain that the connection points of the SSD are not 100%. But since I basically have no warranty on it, and that Samsung completely cannot find my S/N on their warranty page before I attempted the disassembly... Are there any solutions you guys can suggest? Maybe if I send it in for repairs somehow somewhere? I don't have a good soldering kit so dead 850 Evos to replace the plug myself is out of the question. If you guys can think of any other tests or scenarios I have not mentioned above, please ask, I'll try to respond ASAP to them.
  3. Most likely the IP requested by your system is not allowed by your router. Go to Control Panel, Network and Internet, Network and Sharing Center, Change Adapter Settings, Right click the adapter, click on properties select the IPV4, properties, then "Use the following IP address", then configure the IP address to use a valid IP address. DNS should be 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. These are the pubilc DNS servers of Google.
  4. just got it working,it's highlighted in green,so i'll say that it works!
  5. ok,just tried,i cannot get into the steam server,my internet seems to absolutely hate steam allowing me to access it. and yes,i have checked my firewall,it's not blocked.
  6. uh..that's the 4570 also,i realise i answered once, just realised that you want to be quoted to know that i answered,so there's that. not trying to spam this. don't block me plz!
  7. I probably should...well derp.
  8. I know that i need at least a 4590 to run vr,but could i get away with running a 4570? Since technically, there is only a 100 mhz difference...in both base and boost. thats all,it's because i don't want to upgrade my cpu from the prebuilt one i have,i recently just upgraded it to a gtx 970,from that unknown, only three search string matching my question gt 625 non m gpu. 4570=3.2-3.6 Ghz 4790=3.3-3.7 Ghz
  9. well,just saying,i have a pentium 4...wonder what i can do to get it to convert into a i7 6700k?
  10. 3,16,34,56,78,64. don't forget to tip your waiter, yell at your useless attorney and get a new life at our new store for only 19.99 but really,i'd like to know.
  11. I'd like to know what the expected price of a am4 6/8 core processor would be,and if itx will be a thing, with onboard gpu/apu style.
  12. okay,i hope i don't unleash hell, but if i accidentally open a gateway, then hell hath thy soul, and thy...body? Thanks! I do have a win 10 machine which has not randomly crashed/rebooted,which i could use to test new updates before updating the pc,although i think that even if i did that, your meaning is that software could potentially crash because of an update, which i'll just have to be careful about. well, time for me to try this experiment out,if i have more questions,i'll ask here, but for now, thanks!
  13. Ok,one question, why would windows reboot for no reason, and sudden power loss,i can deal with. There has only been one case of power loss at my home, and that was because of the maintenance guy fooling around.
  14. Please,i just now need to know, should i get a 8core,cause all the 8cores that i find have horrible performance in comparison to the 4core cpu. Also i'm just going to confirm using win 10 as base os
