  1. Just an update. I bought a new DisplayPort cable and that didn't fix it either. Any other solutions that might fix this?
  2. Apex legends, Witcher 3, Alien Isolation, Titianfall 2, Destiny 2 are some of the ones i've seen this happen in. And it's only for 1080p.
  3. I just got this monitor yestderday. I've been trying to run it at 1080p at 144hz with Gsync compatible enabled, but it when ever i open a game, the refreshrate is set to 120hz. I can't change this in Nvidia control panel or even in Windows. When i do, it goes back to 120hz as soon as i enter the game. This doesn't happen with every game, but a large number of them. And it doesn't happen at 1440p or when using HDMI, but i need to use DisplayPort for Gsync compatible. So far i've tried running older Nvidia drivers, Custom Resolutions, removed my second monitor to no avail.
  4. I just bought the Acer Nitro VG270UP yesterday. And I have been having one big issue with it. If I run it at a resolution below 1440p the the refresh rate changes to 120hz. This doesn't happen in every game. But it happens in Apex Legends, Witcher 3, Alien Isolation, Titianfall 2 and Destinty 2. But games like Doom 2016, GTA V Rocket League and Shadow of the Tombraider work fine. I'm using the Display port and I go into the Nvidia control panel and Windows and manually set it to 144hz, but it always goes back to 120hz. I've switched to the HDMI as this allows all games to run at 144hz, but this monitor allows me to use Gsync compatible and it supports it very well, so having to use HDMI is sort of limiting me. I don't know if it's the games, drivers, windows 10 or something else. I don't think it's the cable as its allowing 144hz in plenty of other games and I've even removed my second monitor incase. If anyone has a solution, please let me know. Things I've tried: Reinstalled Nvidia drivers Custom resolution Removed second monitor Run startup configs in launcher to force 144hz I.e Origin -freq 144 Turned every possible monitor setting off (VRB was already disabled) My specs are here: CPU - I5-9600K GPU - RTX 2070 SUPER MB - MSI Z370 GAMING PLUS RAM - HyperX 16GB 2666MHz HDD - 2TB Seagate SSD - Samsung 850 Evo 256 PSU - Corsair CX 650M
  5. Yes, I've tested a different PSU. The issue persisted
  6. I'll run the tests again in an hour or so. Is it possible to downgrade my BIOS version
  7. It just said invalid results. It passed the 30B. I've tried different PCIE slots before, and it didn't change anything, unfortunately. Is it possible to downgrade the BIOS? I'm curious if that's it. Same with the chipset
  8. I've run GPUPI on my 970 currently, and I've run 10B and 20B. 10B failed at pass 19 and 20B failed at pass 4. Are you sure that this is caused by a card being broken, failing? The artifact issues are identical on both cards. Can software cause issues like this or the motherboard chipset and BIOS themselves?
  9. I have run Prime95 for 2 hours all tests passed. So it appears to not be the CPUs fault
  10. As in if the CPU is at fault? I need more detail on what these tests determine
  11. So a while back, one month ago, I bought a Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Gaming Edition and started noticing artifacts in games. I saw flashes, textures in the wrong area, and bright coloured pixels. So I RMA'd it and they couldn't find a problem with it, so I got a refund and bought a MSI RTX 2070 Super Gaming X Trio. And a week later or below, I started getting textures in the wrong area again. This happens in Apex Legends and Destiny 2. Very rarely for Destiny 2, but very common for Apex Legends. I've not noticed any flashing, but that might change. This is now happening on my MSI GTX 970, so I'm pretty sure it's not the GPUs themselves. Heres what I've done so far: Reinstalled GPU driver, including old versions Updated the motherboard BIOS Swapped out the RAM and ran MemTest86 Checked the PSU Cables Checked cooling Ran Unigine Heaven and Furmark: Donut (nothing showed up) Swapped put the PSU Reinstalled Windows 10 Reinstalled the games Switched the PCIE slots Lowered the clock speeds and memory clock speeds Disabled freesync Swapped out monitors and used single monitor [PC Specs] Windows 10 Pro (Version 1903) i5-9600K MSI Z370 Gaming Plus HyperX 2x8GB (16GB) @2666MHz MSI RTX 2070 Super Gaming X Trio MSI GTX 970 Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD Samsung 850 Evo 256GB SSD NZXT H500 Corsair CX650M PSU (New CX versions) BenQ 1080p TN Monitor (Secondary) LG 4K Freesync IPS Monitor (Primary (Runs at 1080p))
  12. Alright. I've tested different monitors. Freesync on and off and none of that fixes it. I've also lowered the Memory Clock from 7000MHz to 6500MHz, the lowest it will allow and that's changed nothing. I believe Windows might be the one at fault, so I'm planning on doing a full clean install of Windows 10. Deleting all data from my SSD and HDD. If that does not solve the issue, then I have an RMA ready, so I can send the GPU back so that they can check it
  13. I switched the PCIE slot and that didn't change a thing. At least I know my motherboard isn't busted. What other solutions or options does anyone know of?
  14. Okay, I'm going to do that now. In terms of cabling, I'm using 1 PCIE cable from the PSU that has 2 6+2 pin connectors. Should I use 2 cables instead of the one? I hope I explaining it right. I can get an image for you
  15. I could move the 2 games, yes. I'm helping my friend build his PC, so I plan to test it on his system. The Freesync setting on the monitor is turned off. I'm thinking of trying the other slots but there's not alot of space that will be left for the fans to get air from, except from the grill below it that leads to the area where all of the cables are and the HDD and PSU
  16. I'm not sure about voltage, but with both 2070 supers, I noticed Rivaturner saying that the core clock in games was at 2GHz This doesn't always happen. I have no idea if it's supposed to, but last time I checked, it also happens when the core clock is at 1800MHz

Because it's happened twice, I'm starting to doubt that it's actually the graphics card causing it. I'm wondering I'd there are other causes or solutions that could help me. (Images of the problem below) They appear for one frame and vanish. Heres what I've done so far: Reinstalled GPU driver Updated the motherboard BIOS Swapped out the RAM and ran MemTest86 Checked the PSU Cables Checked cooling Ran Unigine Heaven and Furmark: Donut (nothing showed up) [PC Specs] Windows 10 Pro (Version 1903) i5-9600K MSI Z370 Gaming Plus HyperX 2x8GB (16GB) @2666MHz MSI RTX 2070 Super Gaming X Trio Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD Samsung 850 Evo 256GB SSD NZXT H500 Corsair CX650M PSU (New CX versions) BenQ 1080p TN Monitor (Secondary) LG 4K Freesync IPS Monitor (Primary (Runs at 1080p))
