  1. It seems to acknowledge the i7 3770k in the BIOS. Does that mean it's not fried? The board is pretty outdated, so a BIOS update might be what it needs, but I don't have a spare USB off hand tbh Might go get one at Walmart. The main thing I want to determine is if the processor works. Would only a successful boot let me know this?
  2. Yeah it's not booting into Safe Mode when I hit F8. It either freezes on start up, or blue screens, resets, and freezes on "Preparing Automatic Repair"
  3. Now I'm getting a Windows error that says "Inacessable Boot Device" then it resets. When it tries to open Automatic Repair, it freezes and stays like that.
  4. Basically, what does a dead processor behave like?
  5. I recently had some water damage done on my PC, and it was a major ordeal. Had to swap the MOBO and PSU in order to get things posting. Issue is, I got a CHEAP MOBO to see if my old i7 3770k worked after everything. Upon installing the processor into the cheap micro ATX MOBO, it booted and tried to get into Windows 10 off my SSD. But it freezes before Windows can exit the splash screen. Is this a sign of a BIOS incompatibility of the board (Certified Windows 8 compatible on the box) or that the processor is dead? I was going to proceed and purchase a new ATX board and another i7, but don't want to do this if only the board is the problem. Any help would be appreciated!
  6. I did that on the last rig. I'm bad at remembering random details like that, so I spent the 6 bucks lol I got it booted. Had to remove the clip once it was on since the PSU fan started rapidly smacking against the and of the clip. Not dead! So this is good lol
  7. I actually got that idea from Linus on an old Fast As Possible video -__- Everyone seems to have their own answer...
  8. I'm assembling a new rig, and I'm curious. I have the alligator clip end of my wristband attached to the PSU while it's off. But when I decide to switch it on and short the power switch pins, do I need to remove the wristband? Will I be safe wearing the wristband while it's connected to an active PSU booting a rig? When do I remove it? Thanks!
  9. How do I enter the BIOS if the computer won't fully boot up? Also, it doesn't have a built in DVI port, so I'd be using my graphics card, which makes things seem a little more complex than a direct connection off the board itself,
  10. Is BIOS version 0807 the first version of the BIOS? I can't see anything lower tbhEDIT: I mean 0804!
  11. The board is brand new How can I perform the BIOS update if the rig won't boot?
  12. I've been going crazy making sure everything is in right and such, and no luck
  13. CPU: i7 3770k MOBO: ASUS P8P67 (New One) PSU: Corsair CS 550W (New One) GPU: GTX 970 MEM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2X)
  14. Hey guys! Recently posted about a spill I had happen on my PC, and I've replaced all parts that I can test given my current supplies. Running a new power supply, and a new motherboard, Upon atempted boot up, it started up for like 5 seconds before promptly shutting down. Now it loops these quick turn ons and turn offs until I kill the power on the PSU. It doesn't do 5 second start ups now, only quick one second ones. I disconnected basically everything and have my rig barebones on the motherboard box with a single ram dim inserted, CPU in (with heat sink) and the power supply powering the CPU and board. Still does this. I did ALL the troubleshooting online, but can't find anyone mentioning how a computer behaves when the Motherboard shorts, but is replaced. Everyone says it's the PSU or the MOBA, but I've replaced both. So is it the processor? Thanks in advance for any help. This has been an absolute living hell.
