  1. I'm hoping to create a livestream multicam rig using either the new ATEM Television Studio HD or a series of decklink recorders. Can someone recommend the best budget options for camcorders which can give Clean HDMI (or SDI) output while being plugged in to AC Power? If there are DSLR or Mirrorless (or even POS) cameras that will do this effectively, I'm willing to consider this, too. 4k unnecessary as most of our livestreams will be broadcast in 720p and our post-produced content will be 1080p. Thanks in advance.
  2. I'm getting consistent High-CPU usage errors with a 4790 build now, so I'm looking for something a bit more. Also looking to switch to capture cards and camcorders within the year.
  3. So a few months back there was a craze on YouTube channels to take advantage of the price of the Xeon E5-2670, which goes for about $75 each on eBay. The problem is that motherboards for this platform are fairly rare and the dual cpu motherboards are even more rare. I finally found an ASRock MB-2C602 for about $333, and 64 GB of DDR3 ECC memory for about $110. So here is what I'm trying to decide between: i7 5820k - $320 ASRock Extreme4 x99 -$170 EVGA 2x8 DDR4-2400 RAM - $60 Dual Xeon E5-2670 $75 x2 -$150 ASRock MB 2C602 - $335 Samsung 8x8 DDR3-1333 RAM -$112 The system is used for live video production, 3 webcams with at least 720p @ 30 FPS.
  4. So the idea here (which I hope LMG sees and makes into a video) is fairly straight-forward: I stream live events using XSplit right now. In order to upgrade equipment, the next step is to buy a Professional Video Switcher. The top brand in Small Broadcasting systems is NewTek's Tricaster line, but their current base model, the TriCaster 40, starts out at nearly $5,000 USD MSRP. This is extremely out of budget, so I'd like to build a system that matches a TriCaster in quality but at a fraction of the price. So here's what I'm thinking so far: Standard PC stuff: 4u Rack Chassis (I already have a Logisys 4u case) i7 Processor (Already have a 4790 non k, will upgrade if someone feels it is necessary) 8 GB RAM (have 2 sticks of Samsung DDR3-1600, but will add/change if the build calls for it) ATX Motherboard (Have mATX board right now from a previous 2u build but not sure which way I should go with this cost-wise) 430W Power supply 120GB SSD Boot Drive 2TB Hard Drive Video card (currently ZOTAC GTX 750 from a 2u build) Windows 10 Video-specific: Blackmagic Decklink Quad SDI - The reason for Quad over anything else is that I hope to run 4 camera inputs. While it might be slightly cheaper to buy 3-4 blackmagic intensity pros, That is a lot of PCIe slots necessary. Live Stream Software Xsplit software.
  5. So I just put this together less than a month ago, so I'm really confused on where I'm going wrong, considering my numbers aren't even meeting up with the Scrapyard Wars numbers from Season 1 and my hardware should be much better than anything they had. i7-4790 ASRock Fatal1ty z97 Killer Mobo 8 Gig (2x4) Kingston DDR3-1600 RAM MSI Radeon R9 380 Armor 2x Solid Gear 750 Watt Power Supply Sandisk SSD Plus 120 GB I've already ran AVG PC Tuneup, and I don't know what else I can do. GPU was ran at stock speed with the latest Crimson Drivers.
