  1. I've been playing around with wireshark but cannot seem to record anything realted to WoL
  2. thanks for the quote tip, and also the darkmode tip (damn) First off thanks a lot for trying! As for the WoL monitor... how do i use it? I'm running on another pc on the network, started it, but nothing. do I have to change the UDP port or something?
  3. Exactly, if i put it to sleep, and unplug the LAN, it stays asleep, turns on immediatelly when i plug it in again. I've already experimented with wireshark, do you think you could point me to some tutorial on checking magic packets with wireshark?
  4. I need to use WoL so that i can remote into the pc whenever I want but also want it to be able to sleep to save power when im not using it. The problem is that something does not let the pc sleep. Even when i manually set it to sleep it wakes up almost instantly. Tried to unplug everything USB but those do not seem to cause the problem. Also tried the System Power Report, but it wasnt much of a help. Tried System Sleep Diagnostics, In the power requests part i've seen some exes in red and yellow tried to disable those with powercfg /requestsoverride process [something].exe execution Did that with RuntimeBroker, chrome, spotify, svchost, MoUsoCoreWorker, but none of them solved the problem. Shoould these work and am I just doing something wrong or should I look elsewhere. What would be great is to find some diagnostic software that shows what programs are allowed to WoL the pc. (Tried WinSleep but it still didnt help) Any help and tips are much appreciated in advance.
  5. *bump* Same here with my FI27Q and 1070, any solution?
  6. I have a bunch of "scrap" 2.5inch and 3.5inch drives laying around from super slow ones to properly working ones, 120GB to 1TB ones. Is there a quick and dirty way of setting up a "smart" NAS PC using some old harware and a bunch of these drives? Here's what im thinking: I have an old mobo with an Athlon II X4, and 4GB RAM in it. It has 6 sata ports. Could I install a NAS OS on it that could use the disks in a "smart" way? Like put in a 120GB SSD as a cache drive and plop in a few of these random HDDs that would be used in a redundant way? Thanks in advance for any help, tips and ideas. (reviving this old thread)

What I mean is saving any data on 2 different disks and if any of the drives fail or gets too slow i'd see it on a WEB UI? I have a feeling that something like this already exists, i just dont know much about the topic. Thanks in advance for any help, tips and ideas
  8. Hey Everyone, I'm trying to archive some GoPro (Hero5 Black) footage (1080p 29,97fps) and compress it using handbrake. (something that Steve does in his video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFVwteuGC8I ) The problem is that i always lose color. A little artifacting is something i dont really care about but the noticeable color difference makes me think twice if i wana do this whole process. Tried to encode on 5k, 10k, and 20k mbps bitrate the result is almost the same (less and less artifacting) but always the same amount of color and contrast reduction. Any ideas what i should do to preserve color? Any tips and ideas would be much apreciated. Sample images and HandBrake setting here: https://imgur.com/a/LiTRDFZ
  9. 4 answers in 1 min. Damn I love this community. Thank you guys for your help!
  10. Planning to build a Ryzen 5 1600 video editing workstation system for a friend of mine. I got a few questions, I'd be pleased if you could help me out a little. It's my first time going to AMD territory, is there anything special I have to do or look for over building an Intel system? Also should I buy a video card for video editing in Adobe Premiere? If yes, what's the lowest I could go? Does the R5 1600 even have an igpu? Do any of the Ryzen CPUs have an igpu? I thank you for any little piece of help!
  11. Yeah I plan that. Probably gona rebuild it with a touchscreen monitor in our shop. It'll be great for basic tasks
  12. Btw, I don't really know anything about these old AMD sockets and CPUs, if someone feels like it, I'd appreciate some basic education on those
  13. I'm planning to get a new gaming system for one of my friends. I was planning on building a new G4560+B250+GTX1050 for him, but he brought me his old system and it seems like it has some usable stuff in it. Do you guys think that I sould keep the 880GMA-E55, or get a new mobo with the G4560? (There was a AMD Athlon II X2 250e in the mobo, i don't think I'll ever use that.) If i should keep it, what AMD CPU would you recomend to pair with the mobo and a GTX 1050?
  14. Planning to clean up an old 1TB drive of mine filled with bunch of different data. Can you recomend some nice free software that could help me out with it? (Sorting by folder size, last used feature would be nice) Thanks for any tips!
  15. I'm using android Remote Remote desktop on my phone with a OTG mouse and keyboard. Anyone know a way to use the windows modifier keys on the keyboars so i can use things like ctrl-c ctrl-v and other things like ps shortcuts? Thanks for any help/ideas!
