Well, we're almost a month in now with no shipping notification. Big sad but oh well.

So did I just order at the worst possible time? I ordered a couple of screwdrivers and some bits on the 20th. Am I just not going to see those for weeks?

Should I upgrade my i5 4670K?
Astrotek replied to twoheadedboy's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
You might be able to get away with picking up a used i7 4790k, reuse almost all of your hardware, get hyperthreading, better base and boost clocks. I'm pretty sure your current board will take the chip since they are both 4th gen chips. -
Having trouble installing my h100i V2

I guess I'm not following. are you saying with the standoffs screwed into the back plate, the back plate is still loose? -

I think it is hard to plan that far ahead. You cannot predict the future of where tech is going or even how fast it will get there. I have an 8700k and a GTX 1070, I hope this lasts me a good 5 years or so at my current 1080p gameplay. That 1070 might not always carry 1080p though. One day new particle rendering or texture resolution increases might make it not good enough to power my gaming needs.

My take on Intel refuse to patch the bug.
Astrotek replied to DeadlyTitan's topic in General Discussion
You've got nothing to apologize for. I'm a little bored at work and pointed some of it at you. -
Workshop DLC is not included with GOTY. You'll get all the expansions/DLC, but most of the workshop stuff is free anyway. Also, on PC you can just mod the game yourself with the Nexus being the best go to for Fallout Mods.

NZXT Hue or similar, Corsair has an RGB Controller too.

Has anyone tried changing the fans on H115i?
Astrotek replied to demooon's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
I have a H115I, I swapped the fans out for some Noctuas at one point, the noise difference was huge. The stock fans are horrendous and swapping them out is a major upgrade in the noise department.- 9 replies

H100i v2 freezing temperature
Astrotek replied to Ryujin2003's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
I wouldn't worry about it much. Last year I bought my 2nd hand Corsair H115I from a friend. He had it in his truck for a couple of nights that were well below 0 Fahrenheit. The hoses still flexed and I could hear the liquid inside the unit even in below 0 temps. So I went home and plugged it in. No issues still to this day. "If" somehow the unit did freeze, the rubber is extremely resilient and shouldn't have any issues. It wouldn't circulate fluid but it 'shouldn't' leak. -
Yeah. Similar problem. I submitted my order Tuesday morning and got my money drawn from my account in no time flat. Order said Pending for around 48 hours so I shot them a tweet. I got a reply via email. Which I will post below. I decided I’d return them an email and shoot them a little advice. Maybe you agree, maybe you don’t.

I use an NZXT Fan Hub. One sata and/or Molex in and I think 8 three pin fan headers out. A guy can run multiple fans off a single header, but I don't know how many before you run out of current to power them. I would think that three off a single mobo header would be okay, that'd let you control rpm still. What you run into on using sata or molex is they run full speed all the time. A fan speed adjustable hub(like one that goes into a drive bay for example) might be a better option if noise is an issue for you. For me personally I just let them run full speed and only use silent static pressure fans.
