  1. I'm having major issues with connecting my PC to my monitor via HDMI. Right now i'm connected with a VGA cord and a DVI adapter and everything looks perfect and there are no issues. I found a spare HDMI cord so I decided I wanted to connect my PC with that. When I did that, my screen had a massive amount of green pixels and the display would constantly shut on and off. Like every 2 seconds. Either that or it wouldn't turn on at all. I've tried 3 different HDMI cords, even a brand new one and still the issues persist. I've even tried connecting the HDMI via the on-board graphics and it still wouldn't work. My monitor is an HP 24uh and my GPU is a EVGA GTX 970 and my motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-Z97MX Gaming 5. Anyone know whats wrong? Not sure if its 3 faulty HDMI cables, a faulty monitor port, or i'm just missing a monitor/NVIDIA setting.
  2. So I recently got an h100i v2. I was wondering, should I use the two included fans for exhaust or intake? I have a corsair air 240 and currently I have negative air pressure (I believe) with both radiator fans set to exhaust and another top mounted fan set to exhaust. This is my first dive into water cooling so i'm somewhat clueless. Also, I currently have my fans placed so it goes Fans-> Radiator. Should the fans go on the back of the radiator or in the front? Any help is appreciated
  3. So, i've found something my PC does that is really weird and i've never seen it before ever. This really only happens playing League Of Legends. My PC will lose sound completely. In-game, and even after exiting the game I cannot get my sound to function again at all. Not on Youtube, iTunes, nothing. Also, my frames in-game will start to dip tremendously. I have an i5 3570k with an R9 290 so obviously you can tell I can easily max the f#%k out of League of Legends. But a few minutes after I lose my sound, I consistently dip below 60 and even 30 when generally i'll easily maintain 150+. Anyone have any explanation for this? Like I said, I only notice this playing League of Legends. I didn't see any signs of overheating (checking HWMonitor) and nothing in task manager is being pushed to it's limit. I'm just perplexed.
  4. What a ridiculous and untrue statement. Yes some games these days require a quad core but it's literally like, GTA 5, Far Cry 4, and The Witcher 3. All games that came out (GTA came out in April for the PC) in the last year.
  5. I'd go on ebay to try to find a used LGA 1155 CPU. You can find i5s and i7s for some good prices there. Unless you want to get a newer generation of processors, of course. Your current amount of RAM is fine, but of course adding more never really hurts. As for your GPU, it's not awful, but thats depending on what kind of games you want to play. I suggest searching your GPU on YouTube to find benchmarks on various games so you can get an idea of performance.

  9. I'm not a big fan of Austin Evans, but this video is fairy straight to the point. Also, tell me what games besides new AAA titles that don't run at all on a dual-core. And also, the Corsair CX series is not recommended for high end systems. This is not a high end system. Hell even my friend has an i7 4790k with a GTX 780 and he's been running his Corsair CX600 for years now, no issues. Even Linus has included this unit in his budget builds.
  10. Are you serious? You obviously haven't watched Linus' video on the G3258 vs the 5960x. A decently OC'd G3258 can hold it's own against more expensive chips. Quad cores for games are becoming a thing, yes, but it's not like every single game out there (or even a significant percentage of them) require a quad core. Only newer AAA titles and quite frankly if you're building a budget system you shouldn't expect AAA titles to run like a dream. It would absolutely not bottleneck something like a 950 in any game that doesn't require a quad core. 11. Not sure if this is the right place on the forums but its worth a shot. Recently, my computer has, for some reason, been losing all audio feed. This happens usually only when i'm playing a game. I'll be playing the game, and all of the sudden, my audio shuts off. And even after leaving the game, no other sound will play on my computer. Youtube, iTunes, etc. The only way i've been able to fix this is disabling my speakers, taking out my headset jacks and then plugging them into the opposite set of jacks (front and back). Then re-enabling my speakers. Sometimes I have to do this several times in order to get audio back. Or just plain restart my PC. Anybody know what this is? I have Windows 10, and i'm using an Etekcity H5GX headset. Could I possibly need to update my audio drivers? I have an Asrock H77M motherboard with a Realtek ALC892 chip.
  12. I've been looking at a lot of mATX cases. I want your guys' opinions on what you think is the best one in terms of; aesthetics, cable management (I have a semi modular PSU), airflow, and overall build quality. I've been looking at the Xigmatek Aquila, the Corsair Air 240, and the Fractal Design Node 804. Tell me what you guys think.

  14. I'm stuck deciding between these two cases. I love some aspects about the Aquila and some about the Corsair but I can't really seem to narrow it down. So i'd like some feedback from you guys on which case you feel is superior in terms of aesthetics, cable management, airflow, and overall build quality and how my current system will fit in it. I have; A microATX motherboard (Obviously the exact model doesn't matter) An r9 290 Vapor-X edition (So a fairly large card) 1 Hard Drive A Cooler Master Hyper TX3 A standard semi modular PSU. I think those are all the elements that really matter when it comes to putting parts in a smaller case. Anything else you need to know just ask.
