  1. how hot does it get? it could be thermal-throttling?
  2. yeah the plan is just to have some effects running on it, like ibuypower has on ces and stuff! but i did this with other monitors and they powered on using only 5v but that was with a different board so i guess this board is different in its wiring
  3. i've got the "power board" but the cables are cut but i guess i could re-solder them. getting a raspberry pi for vga and such seem unnecessary since the screen would need to be powered using the controlboard? which has vga into it?
  4. Hi! im currently working on a diy "snowblind" project. a LCD-panel attached to the case-window. I've got the panel but i can't seem to get the electronics working. the screen is an old DELL E193FPp. The lcd requires 5v to be powered, im connecting the 5v on a molex connector and according to the schematics i could find it should be pin 12 and 13 for 5v. but when i connect my molex the whole thing shortens. The molex output roughly 5.15v and should be fine? any suggestions on why it shortens? (pic is blurry but i can't find any with higher res) Dell schematics.pdf
  5. i don't really know what you mean by that? not sure if there is any resistance or not.. on the board there is only 2 wires that how voltage when i put my voltmeter pins on them.
  6. i think it goes to ground yes, i tried putting the 5v on both pins that say 5v over it but i shortens on both
  7. The voltmeter says 5.16V i dont know how exakt that is but thats what i got. on the board its marked 5v over these wires but the schematics says otherwise.
  8. i guess i'll be getting a voltmeter then..
  9. im not sure if im screwing up the connector or not. All i could find online was the picture in the first post. its blurry but pin 12 and 13 is 5v so i assumed that was the right way, maybe im wrong..
  10. so a molex connector can send out a different voltage even though it says 5v on the pin?
  11. do you mean the 5v on the molex? i have the other pin (12v) connected to a led light strip so i thought the other would be 5v
  12. Hi! Im trying to connect a lcd-panel using a molex connector for the 5v. i found a schematic online that shows where the 5v is supposed to go but when i but the 5v there the thing shorts? The LCD-panel is from a Dell E193FPp monitor and what i can see the 5v should be connected to 13 in the picture.. (blurry pic can't find high res)
  13. i have no clue on why it is like that but ah well it works ? just weird that it wont go 100%
  14. UPDATE: changed the outlet and the fan started spinning. its not spinning 100% of the speed but its spinning
  15. it's just weird that the 60mA charger worked fine earlier and the second one has never been used for this. shitty luck i guess ?
  16. i took another fan to test and the same thing happens... no spinning with any of the chargers
  17. i can't really check that, i stripped the fan wire..
  18. i can't check the voltage no.. but the thing is that using the 60mA charger i could use the fan with no issues just a couple of months earlier.
  19. yeah i tried both chargers but the fan wont spin.. it will try to start up but fail.. works sometimes when i push it to get it started but otherwise it stands still... why?
  20. Hi! im trying to make a diy table fan out of my pc fan, i figured i could use an old charger to power the fan. the fan is a corsair ml 140mm fan. it should work just by connecting the 2 fan wires to the 2 on the charger right? these are the chargers i've got:
  21. alrighty! but based on what i could gather the block i linked in the first post should work with the card! so i might be getting one depending on the warranty and how their policy is!
  22. Sorry for not mentioning but the system already has a custom cpu loop so adding a gpu block would not be that difficult
  23. my system is already watercooled so adding a gpu block can't bee that hard. and i dont think that the paste is so bad since the card is only 2 years old?
  24. Hello! My GTX 1080 is running very hot, too hot for my liking and im thinking about getting a waterblock for it. Any suggestions on what to get? is EKWB the way to go or should i look elsewhere? https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc1080-gtx-tf6-nickel would this work?
