  1. Is it why the PC has been randomly freezing up?
  2. Did a clean install of Windows 7 x64. I only have 3GB of RAM, but it spikes up randomly, even teh disk activity, even though most of the time I'm just sitting on two tabs in Chrome. I did another post here and someone said that it was a dying hard drive. Downloaded an app called CrystalDiskInfo and these were the results. Is it dying? Is it the cause for the random RAM and Disk Activity spikes?
  3. It is 64-bit compatible, but I'll just go with 7. Never liked 10's design anyway. 7 felt much more "PC-like" if you know what I mean. P.S. 32-bit or 64-bit?

  5. 32-bit or 64-bit? 2GB RAM C2D E7400 NVIDIA 9400GT
  6. MSE, just installed it like an hour ago. But before that, it was already acting like this.
  7. Nope. No Linux. Here's another situation. Only 3 Chrome tabs, nothing else, but look at this. What is wrong with this? Just a few moments ago everything was brutal and it never went beyond 2GB RAM usage, now this?!
  8. Re-did the whole scenario, but made it more brutal. 15 Chrome tabs, 5 Office Windows, A bunch of other apps running, surprised the RAM never got to 2GB. What the? Could it be the HDD's fault?
  9. Should I go Windows 7 or Windows 10 32-bit? This is an extremely old family PC. My parents don't want to upgrade it because "it does what it's supposed to do".
  10. It ws a clean install, but sometimes I would find the RAM usage passing 90% in the Resource Manager. When I used 32-bit Win7, this rarely occured. I had just 5 Chrome tabs Chrome and Word running. C2D E7400 OC 9400GT 3GB RAM Also, would Windows 10 32 or 64-bit be better for my system?
  11. It did work. Should keeping both of them offer better performance, or should I just ditch the 1GB one?
  12. Is it okay to mix a 2GB Kingston PC2-6400 DDR2-800 with a 1GB Samsung PC2-5300 DDR2-667?
  13. Thanks to all of you! Will go Windows 7 64-bit.

  15. The mobo's max RAM limit is 4GB. Also, Windows 7 or Windows 10?
  16. And if I plug back the 160 to transfer my files to the 250, what drive letter would be assigned to it?
  17. And if I plug back the 160 to transfer my files to the 250, what drive letter would be assigned to it?
  18. If I unplug the 160GB and install the OS on the 250GB drive and plug it back in, what drive letter would be assigned to it?
  19. What would happen to the original drive C with the OS and backup files (148GB)?
  20. I currently have two hard drives. My OS is in drive C (hard drive 1) and my backup drive is D (hard drive 2). I want to do a clean install of Windows 7 and swap them, making my backup drive (250 GB) be the drive with the OS. Since it is currently drive D, I want to change it to drive C, and the previous drive C with the OS to drive D. Unfortunately, I can't change the drive letter of the active partition. It says that the parameter is invalid. Can you guys help me out?
