  1. I currently have a GTX 1060 so I should be fine. Guess I'm getting the QR, thank you for your help!
  2. So why is the QR cheaper? Also I'm going to be using display port to achieve 144hz.
  3. Gotcha. So you're saying I should get the QR version as it's cheaper and they're the same spec wise?
  4. So black friday is coming around, and I'm looking for a 144hz, 1080p 1ms monitor with a decent panel. I know most monitors at around $250~ and below have TN panels, but I found these two. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16824236413 https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16824236722 I found the MG248QR for $200 at a microcenter near me, but I cannot for the love of god find the difference between these two monitors. Can someone help me find out what sets them apart? I found MG248Q for $230 so I don't know what's the better buy. I like them because they have thin bezels and plus what I want out of a monitor (other than the TN panel) This samsung monitor: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16824022485 Uses a VA panel, better than TN, is 144hz, 1080p, and has a 1ms response time. but is more expensive and a bit out of my price range. Dunno what to get, please assist me. Ty in advance to anyone who answers.
  5. Just found this: https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1541 Similar Blue switches, RGB, and TKL for $10 cheaper. Thoughts?
  6. Hey. Title is self explanatory. Thinking of picking up a new keyboard. Right now I have a full size with membrane switches, and I am thinking of getting this. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D8ETGJ0/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Is it worth it? $120, TKL (i like very much yes), RGB, removable USB, and blue switches. Any feedback or new suggestions? It's the perfect keyboard for me but imo $120 seems a bit too steep.
  7. Hi guys. I'm currently thinking about upgrading my 950. It's a single fan and clocked at around a little bit more than 1000mhz. I'm trying to save money where I can as I'm buying a new power supply too. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487294&cm_re=gtx_1050_ti_ftw-_-14-487-294-_-Product (GTX 1050 TI FTW) https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125906&cm_re=gtx_1060-_-14-125-906-_-Product (GTX 1060) Just wondering if the extra $40 is really worth it/necessary. The 1050 TI FTW has 4GB of VRAM opposed to the 3 on the 1060, but I know the 1060 has a somewhat higher clock speed. Just wanting to know what'll get me the best bang for my buck and again, I'm trying to save money and that extra $40 could go towards a new PSU. Thanks for any advice.
  8. Hello! My current headset has been running into some issues. The audio and mic jack have to have a paintbrush stuck between them so I can get sound out of both speakers inside my headphones. The microphone is also pretty low now so I think it's time for a replacement. I rely on surround or stereo sound for games like Rainbow Six Siege while needing a decent microphone for communication. I also consume my fair share of media. My two choices are HyperX Cloud Stinger: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L2ZRYVE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 And the Razer Kraken Pro: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/razer-kraken-pro-esports-gaming-wired-stereo-headset-for-mac-windows-black/5202713.p?skuId=5202713 I've tried the Kraken USB which I'm pretty sure is almost the same thing as the Pro but I'm still torn. My budget is around $50 and I'm not an expert with headphones. Any feedback is appreciated, thank you.
  9. Yesterday I was playing a game for several hours. After restarting the game I was getting around 2 frames on the start menu and I knew something was wrong. Shortly after I was prompted a message by EVGA's precision software that there wasn't any supported hardware detected. I decided to restart my computer and I couldn't get anything to show up on the display which scared me shitless. I attempted to troubleshoot this by: Re-seating the GPU Taking out RAM, leaving one stick in, vice versa with the other stick Changing where the SATA cable is connected Checking if the PSU is receiving power (it was) Unplugging my 6 pin connector to my GPU Moving the HDMI cable from the GPU port to the motherboard one Nothing seemed to work until I checked the back of my monitor to realize the end of the HDMI cable was bent...I bent it back into place and everything started working again. I booted up and was prompted with the same message by EVGA's precision software and Geforce Experience wouldn't work. I ran dxdiag, at this point I thought that either my GPU was dead, my PCI-E port was dead, or something was going on with my PSU, because the GPU wasn't being detected and integrated graphics showed up. And it's strange because the display was working and the HDMI cable was moved over to the GPU and the monitor was displaying fine. What's weird is that I had integrated graphics disabled in bios meaning it couldn't have used that (I think) to display on my monitor. I was really stressed and was ready to just cash out $300+ on a new GPU, motherboard, and PSU. Later I run dxidag again and the GPU is detected. I just need someone's opinion on what to do at this stage because I honestly don't know what's wrong with my computer and don't want this issue to pop up again.
  10. Heyo. So I was promised that I could buy myself a headset for around $60-70. I can't find many in that range that fit my preferences. Has to ship to North America Comfortable with glasses WIRED Good Microphone If anyone could help me that'd be great, a lot of the headsets I see have like 3 star reviews which isn't good enough for me.
  11. I'd recommend the 1060 solely because of the software and that's it's decent too. If you upgrade the CPU make sure it's compatible with your motherboard. Honestly before doing any of them you should check if your PSU has enough power to handle them. But as Abyss said above you should probably get a new CPU first.
  12. First, create a simple text document on your PC, since you want it for shutdown only, just name it something like "Shutdown". Now, open the freshly created document and copy and paste what's below. @echo off shutdown -s -t 3 Now click "File" on the top left of the window Rename it to whatever, but make sure there's a .bat at the end. e.g "Shutdown.bat" Make sure it's saved as "ALL FILES" Save the file. Double click its icon and it will run the command instantly and shut down your computer. I'd recommend you move it in like a corner on your desktop, something you won't click by accident. Hope this helps.
