  1. I bought a brand new Sony TV Model: 55X80K / X80K 2022 series. My problem is that it shows garbage display when using my desktop PC, (R7 5800X, RTX3070, Win10), it displays on the TV fine when I'm on my desktop bios and when I try my Windows 11 laptop. It would be a hassle to reinstall Windows on my main PC just because of that. Any other fix that I can try?
  2. Not really blows away but the difference of their GPU is really significant. I'm trying to watch reviews/testing of the models to have an idea of how they'll feel when being used.
  3. Hi, I just bought the Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X 2 weeks ago and hasn't opened it yet & can return anytime. But I noticed that Zephyrus G14 is on sale. It's $100 more expensive than the Lenovo one though. Here are the breakdown of specs The RTX 3050 should be enough for me but of course a more powerful GPU is more than welcome! What I am most interested with is how they feel if I use them, the ease/convenience of using them & how hot they feel when holding. I'll go to whichever model will give the least headache I guess. The things I like about Lenovo is the professional looks, round edges. The things I like about the Zephyrus is the unique appeal and the better GPU.
  4. Both has a dedicated RTX 3050. And for laptops, they really vary in performance depending on the laptop design, power & cooling.
  5. Looks, clearly Alienware is the favorite. Display, Hands down for Lenovo. CPU, Alienware has a slight edge. Battery, Hands down for Lenovo again due to the Intel Alder Lake issue. Ports, Hands down Alienware though I'm not sure how useful Thunderbolt 4 is? Memory & SSD: Lenovo For the GPU, we'll have to consider how well the laptop is designed. Based on the video reviews I've seen, Alienware did a great job with their design. But I couldn't find any informative info about Lenovo's performance. Any thoughts that could help me decide which laptop to buy?
  6. Is there an available Thin & Light Ryzen 6000 series Laptop in the market that doesn't have a high-end dedicated GPU? I'm looking to buy a laptop that I can use when I am working away from home. I would play some casual games but it really wouldn't require much graphics power. Edit: My budget would be around 1k USD. I can go a little higher if it's worth the extra cost.
  7. I am aware that it wont protect me against malware that doesn't use internet, that's fine. But for the one you mentioned that the malware using another program to use the internet, that program will have to be prompted too before it can access the internet right?
  8. Is it a good idea to purchase Netlimiter as a security against malware? My free trial is almost finished and I am using it as a prompt to either allow or deny any app that tries to access the internet. So I was thinking that if my PC is to be infected by a malware, before it can send out any data or request into its server, it'll be detected by Netlimiter and will prompt me to either allow or deny the connection.
  9. Hi, I'm playing World of Dragon Nest windowed to 1600x900. I want to be able to play with max or high settings at stable 50-60fps. Is that possible? My specs: i7-8700, 16GB DDR4-3000MHz, RX 5700 XT 8GB I am trying Bluestacks and Nox Emulator. I've read that it's better to have a 2nd dedicated GPU. I have a spare GT 1030 2GB that I'm letting someone borrowed for the meantime. Will using that make significant difference? What should I do to be able to play at stable 50-60fps? Thanks a lot.
  10. Hi, I hope someone can help me troubleshoot the issue. My PC freezes for about 3-10 seconds randomly. Sometimes when I'm watching youtube, or watching some local videos, or launching a game. (I haven't tried playing a full game yet). Here's a video I took when I try to launch Euro Truck Simulator: https://drive.google.com/file/d/123890L_Dev_KhMMekF4roXUV9K0En04V/view My specs: i7-8700, Asrock Z390 Steel Legend, RX 5700 XT Nitro+, Seasonic Focus+ Gold 750W I recently changed hardware from: i7-8700, Asrock Z370M Pro4, GTX 1070 EXOC-SNPR, Seasonic Focus+ Gold 750W I dont know if this has any relation to what's happening but my old hardware had problems with the GPU and Motherboard which is why I changed them. Here's the thread for the issue of the old hardware: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1126446-i7-8700-pc-wont-work-without-dedicated-gpu/ I also have a Seasonic SS-520FL 80+ Platinum 520W PSU and I did use this and the Focus+ alternately to see if it's the PSU causing the issue but it's not. I also checked the PCI Express Link State Power Management under Advanced Power Setting to make sure it's set to OFF. Then set the power setting to "High Performance" Please help me troubleshoot the issue.
  11. Is getting the RX 5700 XT Sapphire Nitro+ worth getting over Gigabyte OC for $32 additional price? I can say I cant go wrong with any but I just wanna know if the additional cost is worth it.
  12. I forgot to mention that I checked that on the BIOS after it booted just to make sure, also I did reset the BIOS when troubleshooting.
  13. Hi, my PC has been okay for almost a year and one day it just gives me no signal / black screen on the monitor. i7-8700, Asrock Z370M Pro-4, GTX 1070, Seasonic Focus+ Gold 750W, 16GB DDR4 Did the troubleshooting, removed all components except the motherboard, processor, and RAM. Same issue. Cleared CMOS / BIOS, same issue. Tried to reseat the RAM, tried 1 RAM, tried the 2nd RAM alone, same issue. Tried another PSU (Seasonic Platinum) from a different PC, still same issue Now I'm just left with the RAM, Motherboard and processor to test right? With that probably it's the RAM or Motherboard. I did test the RAM on a different PC and it works fine, so it should probably the motherboard that's faulty. Now I need a PC ASAP since I have work to do so I took one PC from my icafe, specs: i5-4670, Gigabyte H81M, GT 1030, 8GB DDR3 I removed the PSU and GPU and replaced it with my Seasonic and GTX 1070 respectively. And it doesnt work, with the same issue. Now my board doesnt have HDMI so I cant run the iGPU of this i5-4670 PC so I plugged in the GT 1030, to my surprise it worked. Now I have this crazy idea of trying the 1030 to my i7-8700 PC. And it also worked! I am puzzled, maybe it's my GPU that's broken, but why wont my i7-8700 PC work with the iGPU? Is it because the Motherboard it also faulty? So both my GPU and Motherboard got problems? How and why did it happen? Both of them are plugged in to an APC UPS with voltage regulator & surge protector. EDIT: I forgot to mention that I checked BIOS if there's something affecting the iGPU to not boot, none. Also I did reset the BIOS on the troubleshooting steps.
  14. I did that too. The WiFi card has 2 wires connected to them, one wire is taped on the SSD (which is taped to HDD before but I upgraded it to SSD a year ago) then the other is taped on the battery. Maybe the one taped to HDD before boosts its signal because the HDD is metal? But it's weird because when we open our mobile hotspot the laptop has no issues connecting.
  15. I recently sold my laptop to my good friend, Lenovo Y50-70 Touch, i7 4th Gen with GTX 860M and Windows 10. I never had issues with the wifi because the router is just really close to where I use the laptop. Now my friend is having wifi issues at their house as intermittent even when near the router, we uninstalled and reinstalled every version of the drivers but still same issue. We noticed that if we connected the wifi to our mobile data hotspot, the connection is smooth. So first thought is that maybe there's something wrong with the router, but every other device connects to the router without issues, also we used a USB Wifi Adapter on the laptop and had no issues connecting with the router. There must be something going on with the specific connection of the laptop and router.. I hope someone here could help us pin point the problem. One solution we both agreed is for me to just provide a USB Wifi Adapter for him to use, but I wanna know what's causing the problem. I feel bad selling something that has issues to a good friend of mine. Thank you for responding.
  16. Yes, since the button to set it to default is already grayed out. Also it works on discord and twitch.
  17. I have BM800 connected to Behringer U-Phoria UM2. It's working well before, I do discord and also push to talk with my games such as Apex Legends, CS:GO and Overwatch. But after I changed the position of my Mic, it doesnt work with games anymore. It does work when I try to record on twitch and also when I check the audio settings in Windows. It seems to work too with Discord but it no longer works in-game. When I try to activate push to talk, it doesnt show my icon saying anything also when I just leave mic open w/o push to talk still no avail. What happened? I hope someone could help me. Thank you!!

    Hearing like Shroud

Video 1 of 2 seems like most of the sound are coming from behind Video 2 of 2 seems like most of the sound are coming in front, though some sound seems to be behind due to the passing bullets going behind. Am I right? Btw, thank you for confirming that surround audio reveals more directions, that is my question by asking stuff about vertical and horizontal. It's like using surround software makes my audio shitty but at the same time improves audiolocation, which if playing games is advantageous. Still, I feel like I'm better at audiolocating with Stereo but maybe I just got used to it, I'll give Sonic or Atmos a chance and try them with some games.

    Hearing like Shroud

Hi, I was wondering if my audio set-up is already decent or if I need a major upgrade to hear game sounds like shroud. I got an Audio Technica ATH-AD700X Open Back Headphones connected to Behringer U-Phoria UM2 USB Audio Interface. I think I'm getting a good audio location but watching streamers play makes me wonder how they seem like having a spider sense with audio. Maybe my set-up is good enough but my ears are just bad, I just need a confirmation if that's the case. Also I've watched from one of Linus' videos that it's mostly software driven to improve audio location. I tried Overwatch with 3 settings. First just using the default (stereo), second using Windows Sonic, third using Dolby that comes within the Overwatch Audio settings. I found out that for my ears I think just the default (stereo) seems better. But when I try to research everyone says Dolby should be better. Maybe stereo is good with horizontal sound tracking while the other Spatial Sound software like Sonic & Dolby is better with more directional sounds including vertical? Or maybe again, I really just have a bad pair of ears. Hehe. I dont know for sure, I hope someone can enlighten me.
  20. Thanks for the time, I think I got my answer now. I searched for Windows Movie Maker alternative and got VSDC. Or if you want an open source one you can check Shotcut. Thanks again.
  21. But I dont think it's easy to use for moms like some other software that is specifically designed for those stuff I mentioned.
  22. Hi, my mom wants to create an audio-video presentation composed of pictures, music and texts. Any program (paid or free) that I can use? I heard movie maker does all of those. I hope I can get suggestions that is easy for moms to use. Thank you!!
  23. Is there a way for me to create a macro to switch playback devices instantly with just using Corsair iCue software? Or is the iCue software only limited to doing recorded keystrokes macro? I am aware there are a lot of other programs that I can download but I was hoping to utilize the macro software of the keyboard.. I hope someone could help me. Thank you!
