Here's the initial situation: I owned a decent gaming pc until just recently when my graphics card took a trip to melt town via some dangerous overclocking. It's been time for an upgrade anyway so I'm looking for suggestions and whether or not any of the old parts are useable. The original rig: Intel processor i5 (quad) @ 3.4GHz 2 x 4.0GB sticks of ram Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. H87-D3H-CF 500W thermaltake power supply case is nothing special, a cheap thermaltake i picked up with the rig. Current budget is $1700 AUD, or about $1210 USD I run two monitors usually, and have my own mouse/keyboard. The goal is to maximize gaming performance and FPS. Had a look around and comparison etc, but getting seriously mixed reviews etc. So I suppose the ultimate question is: What would be the best build for money, and are any of these parts useable in said build? Thanks in advance!
