  1. One (of the two) gpu fan does not work properly, as in it cannot hold a certain rpm at all, so it just fluctuates a lot, and is much louder than usual alongside that. The other fan seems to be fine, however, is there a way to completely shut off the one fan without cutting its wires? (Going to watercool it to keep temps and single fan rpm low). Gpu is an Asus gtx 980 poseidon.
  2. Old cpu dead and this one just arrived new, i dont have other mobos on me to test rn. Psu is fine and mobo is new
  3. If 20 minutes after powering on and it wont post then im unsure when it will
  4. I bought a tester psu, same situation and all other hardware seem fine and are connected properly. I do not have the old mobo for testing since ive sent that to msi to be replaced to have a tester mobo. Unsure if this will affect posting, however I have a SATA M.2 ssd in it (it's compatible).
  5. I had replaced my old motherboard which was a bit damaged with a new one from Asrock. However i cannot seem to get it to post, debug indicator is unpowered. Originally I had an MSI X99A Sli Plus mobo, then ordered an EVGA X99 FTW K however that one was DOA. Now I have an Asrock X99 Taichi. I had also replaced the CPU (i7 5820k) since somehow it died. Now with a new CPU (still the 5820k) it will not post. Gpu was working throughout this (gtx 980) Have tried (in order): -One stick of ram in each slot -Clear cmos -Different PCIe slots for the gpu Also CHA_Fan 1 does not power the fan plugged in for some reason.
  6. Best Buy is the only one near. Do they offer that?
  7. Then i'll have to come to the conclusion of the cpu died.
  8. well aside from that. issue being i do not have another x99 cpu on hand, the only available in-store ones cost $1,000. It would be preferred to not spend more until definitely confirmed.
  9. i bought the 850 watt psu for testing about a week ago. it is new. Would there be any other way of making sure it is the cpu?
  10. Was replacing a broken mobo with a new one, but now it is having issues powering on. Cpu was recently working with the old motherboard. However now that mobo is having the same issues with this new one. Old mobo: MSI X99A SLI PLUS New mobo (it was DOA): EVGA X99 FTW K Newer mobo (Received it today): ASRock X99 Taichi i7 5820k GTX 980 2 x 8gb G. Skill Trident Z (2133) WD Blue m.2 SATA SSD EVGA 750G NEX EVGA 850BQ (Extra PSU) Have tried: -Clear cmos -Reseat cpu -Tried different ram slots with one stick -Tried different PSU -Switched to bios 2 It does not power on long enough for the debug codes to come on, (Will power on for a split second then turns off)
  11. Amazon says it is 1 year, though MSI says it is 3 year. Contacting MSI about it.
  12. I will look into making sure that warrenty is not a typo though. It did not seem right being only one yr.
  13. Had the mobo and other hardware for two years. Warrenty was one year as stated from the site bought it from (amazon) though I feel like that is a typo. Usually they are 3 yrs or so, and my friends don't have any x99 systems, (they were too expensive for them, nearest friends with closest specs uses z170, other friend still uses AM3+), so i've bought a new mobo from EVGA (X99 FTW K) but that turned out to be DOA sadly. RMA'ing that board right now and can confirm it is painfully slow. I live in Rohnert Park, and Best Buy is the only store that would be able to help, though ive already contacted them about the issue and they were unable to solve it.
  14. Same situation with the gpu out. I do not have another working mobo just incase it is the cpu's fault or not, so im having to assume the cpu is working along with its ram controller. Doubt it would be the cpu, but so far everything points at the mobo being the issue. Hopefully it is only the motherboard and not other components that are dead. All capacitors look fine though.
  15. Socket's pins are perfectly fine. All the pins are where they should be.
