  1. Hey, here's the screenie and also some of the GPUZ logs from crashes incase they're helpful. GPU-Z Sensor Log2.txt GPUZ_160723_crash_160530.txt
  2. Hey guys, I'm in need of some trouble shooting help. Tldr; upgraded from 980ti to RTX 3070. Initially worked amazing, after a couple of months however, started having this recurring intermittent issue. Games crash to black screen and PC needs hard restart. First noticed in star Citizen, game would randomly black screen with sound still going for a couple seconds before PC became unresponsive. Sometimes when it happens, I can sleep the computer and wake it and the game has just crashed. Other times I wake it and the display is clearly miss-scaled or at the wrong resolution then a couple seconds into trying to log in hard crashes. And other times it's a hard crash from the start. I tried other games and get the same issue. In SC I tried some of their GPU debug options as the crash reports had nothing other than non-descript GPU error. with the GPU sync option enabled game runs like a potato but doesn't crash until I turn off the sync and then it's almost immediate. Other games I've tried include KSP(1 and 2), cyberpunk, portal RTX, witcher 3. All used to work, both with the 980ti and after I first upgraded to the 3070. I tried trouble shooting to check for thermal limits, utilisation maxing out, even power draw through both MSI afterburner and the diagnostic tools with furmark - all inconclusive, no identifiable pattern. I've tried changing from my 3440x1440 to a 1080p monitor and things seemed to run again, all be it with below expected performance. So i tried running furmark on the 1440 ultrawide to see if I could get a repeatable failure, but it just ran perfectly smoothly without issue for multiple hours while also running CPU stress test. Games however still crash out on the ultrawide any time I try and play them. So I'm at a loss as to what could be causing this issue. Any help would be hugely appreciated.
  3. ok i updated the bios and it appears to have fixed the problem, turns out the bios version that was pre-loaded had no support for nvme, thanks all for help and recommending bios update. even in retrospect i feel kinda dumb for not trying that first
  4. np thanks for helping, do you know if asus has any setting for enabling or disabling the nvme controller/ports the only storage settings i can find are sata but the drive with issue is nvme

  7. ok so just built a new system with asus h370 mobo and all is working except for my NVME ssd isn't showing up at all in the bios, it's an ADATA/XPG sx8200 pro 1tb model any advice on what this could be (other than a broken drive) would be hugely appreciated cheers
  8. Not sure what setting in particular you mean but ive been through and set everything to auto. also tried changing the speed to 1600mhz and wierdly task manager still picks it up as 933mhz not the 800mhz I was expecting
  9. HELP PLEASE!! OK so my system 16gb ddr3 kingston hyperX 2133 RAM, however windows crashes at 2133 but is stable at 1866. Today however I was going to watch Netflix and my whole computer was being a bit jumpy and laggy so I opened task manager and had a look, chrome was using 3.5gb RAM, OK I closed all my tabs, computer was still jumpy, I looked at the graph page of the RAM to see what was up and noticed that it says it's running at 933, half the normal speed so I powered off checked the RAM seating, booted into BIOS checked RAM speeed, it was 1866, booted to Windows re-opened task manager and it still says 933 which isn't even a speed option on the MOBO. Anybody had anything similar, or got any ideas of a fix. Cheers

  14. Hi, am looking at a gtx 1080 on amazon by zotac awesome price comes pre installed with waterblock. however i've heard a lot of bad things about mixing metals in your watercooling loop. the card is a ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 ArcticStorm 8GB GDDR5X Liquid Cooling Waterblock can someone tell me if the copper and aluminium mix is going to destroy it or if i were to connect it to a loop with a premade CPU watercooler would it damage that?? thanks
