  1. I have two Asus Founders Edition 1080ti 11gig, and I just got a nvidia gsync monitor. Before and after the monitor I swear I can visually see (even without a fps counter) my frames drop in Destiny 2. I have tried SLI off and on, I am not sure if there is something easy that I am missing, I don't feel that those 2 cards should ever go so slow that I can notice it. Any suggestions?
  2. I am pretty sure that the fan is pulling air though heatsink into the case, not at home right now to confirm, but the hub is on the inside as you can see from pic, so I am pretty sure that is the case. My question is should I just flip fan around in it's current location or move the fan to the other side of the heatsink? The airflow will be the same either way, I am just curious as to which one is better. On the Hyper 212 EVO pics I see in google they all seem to have it on the side I have it one but what if I had RGB ram i I Wanted to show off, is it okay to move the fan to the other side of Heatsink or will the two fans be too close to each other? Oh just noticed that you can't see the hub in that pic sorry
  3. Okay so should I keep the fan on the current side of the heatsink or move it to the other?
  4. I was talking to a friend about some Rosewill fans that I got to put in my case, and as we got to talking about airflow I realized that the fan on my Hyper 212 EVO was pulling air through the heatsink ( I think that is the direction of the flow) and the case fan on the other side of that heatsink was pulling as well and they have been fighting each other. I know they should both flow the same way, my question is should I leave the fan on the side of the heatsink it is currently on and reverse airflow or should I put it on the opposite side of the heatsink? Actually I just realized that the clips are only on one side of fan so I can't do that. NEW question, I see a lot of pics with the fan on the side of the ram, covering it up. Isn't the air pulled through the heatsink by the fan and pushed into the case? If that is so and my case fan on the back is exhaust aren't they fighting each other? I am not at home or I would be investigating this stuff, I am at work entertaining myself on Linus' forums! Any help is greatly appreciated.
  5. I was having a problem with my wireless keyboard with my new gaming rig, Logitech said that it was usb 3.0 devices interfering with the 2.4 ghz wireless band or some such thing so I decided I need a new keyboard because the plugin one I had was a tiny HP keyboard that I hated. I wanted to try a mechanical keyboard after messing with a blue switch one in store. So I did some research and found out that I wanted to go with Cherry MX Brown switches. Well I wanted an introduction into the mechanical keyboard community so I didn't want to spend too much. I found a couple of keyboards on sale for under 80 bucks during all these Black Friday sales. One which fit the color scheme of my rig and was cheaper but it didn't specify what color switch, it was basically you get what you get. The other was 20 dollars more but I was able to choose Brown switches so I went with the Tesoro Excalibur G7NL Brown Mechanical Switch I guess I didn't do enough research because I didn't know that Cherry's patent ran out and that there were other kinds of switches, mine are Kailh (or is it Kalih?) switches. The only complaints I have so far are that the link to the software on their site is broken so I am operating without it right now, and I wish that they would have used a switched that required more pressure for the spacebar because I bottom it out easily but I have only had it for one day, I am sure that it will take some getting used to. Otherwise, I love it.
  6. Phanteks support was great and they are already sending me a new panel.
  7. I will try the foam thing if they won't RMA it.
  8. Pretty sure it's NOT since I don't have a HDD
  9. Just built a rig very similar to this yesterday!
  10. So I kept hearing this ticking noise coming from my brand new rig. Every component is new so I was a bit concerned. At first I noticed it when I was gaming and I assumed that is was the vid card because it was under load. Then later I noticed it was happening when the computer wasn't under load. I ignored it for a little while and it settled down and I thought it was good. Then it started happening again. I did a search on the forums and a lot of ticking/clicking noises came up for PSUs so I figured I better take the side panel off and pinpoint the noise so I can take care of it. When I put the side panel down by the balcony door (it is nice and cool outside) I realized that it wasn't the computer, the ticking noise was now coming from down by the floor! I have a Phanteks Enthoo Pro so it has the windows in the panel and I guess they aren't set right or something. I am going to try to RMA just the panel. I just thought I would post my experience to see if anyone has ever seen it happen. My gpu blows heat right on the panel so temp changes might be causing it.
  11. Thanks guys, I will post pics of my build after I get everything up and running.
  12. I need some help, I haven't built a computer in about 15 years and I recently bought the gear for a new rig. I am almost done with the installation of everything and ready to install the OS but I have never built a computer with pci-e or installed a pci-e card and I need help with the power connections. I have a MSI R9 390 that has power connections for 8 pin and 6 pin. my power supply is modular and the cable has 2x 6 pin with a 2pin next to each that looks optional. How many do I plug into the card? If I fill all the connections in the card that leaves me with a 2 pin connector dangling free, is this okay? Thanks for the help.
  13. I think that it might be unethical, but it is done by many, even Linus said on the WAN show the other day that he was going to do it with his Microsoft Surface. When you enter into a buying agreement with a seller the seller sells you the product in good faith with the return policy in place to help the consumer with any problem with the device or in some cases because you are not pleased with the product. When you go in with the intention of returning after reviewing it gets a little shady. I wouldn't do it but I understand why someone would want to, not everyone can get free hardware sent to them to review and sometimes when hardware is sent to reviewers it is on a loan basis anyways. Tough to break into reviewing, good luck.
  14. Thank you for the in-depth answer
  15. That is in store pickup only and they don't have a store in my city, but I could get my sister to buy it and ship it for a 50 dollar savings, I will have to give her a call.
