  1. I have looked at the pulse. It seems to be a great card, but the design clashes with my build and is unfortunately the reason I am not considering it. The updated Evoke OC just went on sale for $379 + a $30 mail in rebate so I am considering this card now as well.
  2. In terms of temps according to Hardware Unboxed the two trade blows in his 1 hour stress test with the Red Devil being 1-2 degree cooler in overall GPU/GDDR6 temp and the Red Dragon being 5 degrees cooler when it comes to VRM temp
  3. Hello LTT! I am looking to purchase a 5700 XT this week and am having a hard time deciding between two. I'm looking at the Powercolor Red Dragon 5700 xt and Red Devil 5700 xt. The card is going in my Evolv Shift and after measuring it out both should fit. I know the Red Devil is the better overall card, but I am wondering if it is worth the $40 difference in price to performance. There are only one or two reviews of the Red Dragon, but it seems to only come 1-2 FPS behind which is not too significant. I was curious if anyone had these cards and could give some real world experience with them. As of now I'm leaning towards the Red Dragon, but am willing to buy the Red Devil if the performance difference is worth it. Thank you in advance for the help!
  4. Unfortunately bypassing the power limit on the Vega 64 is not do able for me. I wouldn’t be able to keep it cool as I am sticking with the stock cooler and the power consumption would be incredibly high on my SFX power supply.
  5. Hello LTT! Currently I'm in the process of my new build and was wanting to get some opinions. I am between the Vega 64 and MSI 2070 Aero. My case of choice is the Phanteks Evolv Shift which is why I am going with a blower card. I like the Vega 64 as it is currently on sale for $399.99 and my main monitor is a Freesync 34in Ultrawide, but the downside is it is more power hungry and tends to run slightly hotter. The 2070 is $499.99 and from benchmarks I have seen it tends to have the upper hand depending on the game. I was wondering if people who had real world experience with both cards or one of them to weigh in and help me come to a decision on this...it be greatly appreciated!
  6. I was recently in the same place as you with a similar budget. I researched just about every laptop possible and tested out everything from the 2018 Macbook Pro to the Dell XPS 13. I loved the Dell and was fairly set on it, but after more research I found that many people were having issues with it. I attempted to contact dell support about the issues many people were having and received a response 2 weeks later, which turned me off from it. The Macbook is very well built, but the price to performance is outrageously high. I ended up trying out the Lenovo C930 and fell in love with it. I bought it on sale for under $1200 with an 8th gen i7 and 12GB of DDR4 RAM. It has a phenomenal keyboard and offers a much better typing experience than other laptops I tested. I wasn't wanting a 2-1 laptop originally, but was swayed after using it. If a store local to you has one I'd definitely suggest going and testing it out. Another great option as mentioned above is the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon. I planned to purchase that until I found the C930 on sale.
  7. Hello everyone! I am currently in the process of picking up the parts for my new build. This is my first time building a mini-itx pc and my case of choice is the Phanteks Evolv Shift. My previous cards have all been in custom loops and I am looking to change it up. I was wondering what style cooler everyone would recommend for the lowest temps in this case? Every build I’ve watched in this case has been with an open air cooler, yet I’ve always been told a blower is the way to go in a small case as it will push out the hot air. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.
  8. Okay! Thank you very much. Im fairly set on the XPS 13 as of now but, I’m going to look through and compare the models to see what the best value is.
  9. It has the new 8th gen processor! That’s awesome to hear though. I think I am going to buy an XPS!
  10. On Dell’s website I am able to get a XPS 13 with the i7 and 16GB of RAM for just under $1300 with the 1080p display. That’s the route I am leaning towards currently. I appreciate your input! How do you like your XPS and how long have you had it for?
  11. I appreciate your feedback. I think you are right and the 4K display would be a waste of money. As for 16gb of RAM, I don’t need it for my daily tasks, but it would be nice just to have for the occasion of me having a video to edit or running programs for school.
  12. After going and testing out a few laptops yesterday I decided I definitely want a 13 inch ultrabook of some sort. My only dilemma now is 1080p enough or will I regret not spending a few hundred more for 16gb of ram and a 4K display down the road. I’m currently scouting the internet for deals haha.
  13. I won’t be doing any gaming on the laptop as I have a desktop. So an ultrabook would suit me fine!
  14. Haha no not much preference on weight! I just do not want to carry around a brick. As for battery life I’d prefer it to last me at least a day of classes which is normally 5+ hours for me plus homework!
  15. After looking at it I was more so considering the XPS 13 over the XPS 15. I had considered the Razer Blade Stealth but am not much of a fan of it after using my buddies. Currently I am between the Lenovo Yoga, Spectre and XPS 13.
