I don't want to use adaptive voltage since it sometimes uses more juice than it should. On the other hand im not so familiar with offset still learning about it
-
What do you guys think about the static VID should I be worried is this normal?
-
Actually I went with 1.225 4,6ghz stable but i don't really want to push it, I just wanted to know why my VID stays static and doesn't change but my cpu Vcore changes
-
Okay you are scaring me xD.... I tested XTU 10 hours , Aida64 4-5 hours, prime95. intel burning test. What do you mean blowing up ;D

Hello guys so I overclocked my i5 4690k to 4,5ghz with 1.205v and its stable. I have enabled all power saving features that intel offers like C-state, EIST etc. But I noticed that my VID voltage stays constant but the Voltage Core is constantly changing which is what I wanted, the only thing that bothers me is that my VID is static. I've OCed with manual mode since i didn't like offset or adaptive so much. My question is did I do this right or did I miss something or that is normal? Sorry for the noob questions first time overclocking CPU... cheers

Hmmm I played Witcher 3 a bit on 4,5ghz oced and temps going between 65~73 with longer gameplay, should I be worried? -

i5 - 4690k Overclock

To be honest I know I could, but 4,5ghz is more than I hoped for and I'm happy with it at this point. I heard that some people couldn't get their i5 4690k to work with 1,250 passed 4,3 ghz. I just wanted to hear from other peoples opinion if 1,205 was safe. really big thanks for response ! -
Hello guys, It has been a year since my pc was build and I wanted to try some overclocking. Now I managed to go to 4,5 ghz stable with 1.205v on Vcore but I'm a bit scared if that is too high or its actually decent. I've read a lot of forums and people saying that 1.205 is kinda low and as long as I watch my temps everything should be fine. I ran aida64 for couple of hours max temps were like 78~81 running the FPU stress test, on prime95 v 26.6 I got 78~79. Later on I was still not so sure and ran the Intel XTU stress test for 6 hours and everything was fine it passed. I realize that aida64 and prime95 are synthetic tests and not real world performance and that will never happen, for example while palying witcher 3 I got max 50~55c. My question is , Is 1,205v safe at 4,5ghz I mean could I fry anything as long as my temps are good and what about the lifespan am I decreasing much?I want my pc to be alive at least for 5-6 years ;D. CPU: i5 - 4690k @4,5ghz GPU: MSI GTX 1070 GAMING X MOBO: MSI GAMING 5 Z97 RAM: CORSAIR VENGENCE 8GB COOLER: Be quiet! Dark Rock TF PSU : Be quiet! Straight power 10 modular 80+ gold SSD: Samsung EVO 850 Sry for the long post and noob questions

Well I live in germany and i got mine from otto.de , i mean it's not so bad its only during gaming. And when i say gaming i mean intensive gpu applications such as witcher 3 etc. but in cs go for example if i don't go over 160 fps the card doesn't whine, however if i go more than 350+ it starts whining from 1 to 10 i would say 4-5. I'm still in a dilemma , I don't know if I should exchange the 2nd time feel kinda tired of that maybe ill live with it not sure yet..

Well to be honest i got my 2nd 1070 g1 now and it still has some buzzing not as much as before but in games like witcher 3 u can hear it even with case closed but because of the fans working at 50% i don't hear the buzzing only in intensive gpu games. I really don't know if i should return it a second time, maybe i'll swap the pcie cable i heard it also can cause some problems. I got some bitfenix sleeved

I will do the test, I think i have some cheap 500w PSU somewhere that I used for 2 weeks in 2015. I also wanted to say that the card ONLY WHINES ingame, when i switch back to the desktop it immediately disappears, that's what causing my to think that im unlucky with gpu's and it may very be the gpu itself
-
The thing is my PSU Never whines not even the slightest , I can't even hear the fans spinning. I remember that my 750 ti didn't make coil whine and im starting to consider that im just too unlucky with the gpu lottery...
