PC Gaming Audio Issues (Cracking & Popping)
Zoid13erg replied to Zoid13erg's topic in Troubleshooting
I was just testing components to see what the issue is, Im not keeping the i3 in my system. I just noticed that the issue resolved when I pulled out the i7. Power Supply shouldnt be an issue tho, I have a 600w. I even undervolted the i7 to reduce power consumption and that still didnt help.- 5 replies

PC Gaming Audio Issues (Cracking & Popping)
Zoid13erg replied to Zoid13erg's topic in Troubleshooting
I've kinda figured it out...or at least narrowed it down. I took my wifes i3 and replaced my i7 and the sounds went away. no issue... thats wild, I dont know what to make of it but why would a CPU make a difference- 5 replies

PC Gaming Audio Issues (Cracking & Popping)
Zoid13erg replied to Zoid13erg's topic in Troubleshooting
Thought that was gonna be it but did not resolve the issue, just tested the same copy of Portal 2 on my wifes PC i built for her, updated drivers to match mine and no issues. Wonder if its a mobo or CPU issue.- 5 replies

PC Gaming Audio Issues (Cracking & Popping)
Zoid13erg replied to Zoid13erg's topic in Troubleshooting
PC case, but the audio output doesnt seem to be the culprit. I've tried using a USB audio converter, audio through my monitor & TV and it still ends up with the same issue- 5 replies

Recently, I've run into an issue where some of my PC games have experienced audio cracking and popping during music and dialog and its driving me up the wall! It only happens while playing games, no issues in windows or watching Youtube videos.. just gaming. Video for sauce https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v08QUWdyqYg Here's a list of attempted troubleshooting steps I have taken: DDU Uninstalled audio & video drivers Checked Different Audio Outputs..(Headphones, Monitor, TV, etc..) Clean wipe of Windows ( personal files removed) + DDU uninstaller of Audio & Video Drivers. Disabled all Sound Control Panel Sound Effects Options Computer Specs: Asus Z370G Mobo i7 7700k (removed OC for troubleshooting) GTX 1080ti 1tb m.2ssd + Several SATA ssds

CPU Gold Pin Contacts Scratched Off (Should I worry)
Zoid13erg replied to Zoid13erg's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I have taken some isopropyl alcohol and cotton wipes to it to no avail. I think they are burn marks from over voltage or scratches. the CPU itself works and turns on. Im just worried more about the corrosion affect it may have on my other components. because from what I understand. the purpose of those gold contacts are to prevent corrosion from oxidation of metals -
I have recently picked out my CPU to clean and re apply some thermal paste. When looking at the bottom of my CPU to check that the Thermal paste has not touched the contacts I noticed that they were scratched and the gold plating had come off ( Pics of Scratched CPU Contacts ). After some research I am fairly confident that it is a Pin to a VSS (ground) but I am worried that it may cause galvanization and affect other pc parts such as my mobo or GPU. should I continue to use the CPU or be concerned?

I have a 1080 and my fan curve is set to 40% @ 40c and 100% at 85c. Should I dial it back? My case airflow is okay, got a Nzxt manta itx case with 2 front fans and 2 top fans.

I know this is a dumb question but bare with me ?. I currently have an Asus strix air cooler card and I am looking for options to make my computer less noisey and cooler. If I were to move to an 1080 ti hybrid would it make enough difference to be worth it? Right now my computer is fairly loud and ramps up whenever playing a graphically intense game. And my room turns into a sauna too

So I've just completed my first build ever and I installed windows 10 and I am starting to run into some BSOD errors. The first was ATTEMPTED WRITE TO READONLY MEMORY. the second which I have got twice now is memory management BSOD. any ideas on what it could be? I'm running prime 95 but it appears that if I have too many applications open ( especially YouTube) it crashes I have a new i5 6500 with DDR4 16GB RAM. Is this too much memory, is the voltage not good, is my new memory back? Or is my software bad

So I just completed my first rig build and I am hoping someone could share some software that recognizes and downloads the drivers I need for my computer

Thanks for the tips! I've been really cautious about static, touching something grounded every couple minutes. So hopefully I'm good

Also I think I connected the Power switch and restart switch correctly but it's not going to effect the mobo if they are not will it?

I haven't connected the PCIe cables to the motherboard but the gigabyte gtx970 has 2 power adapters one is a 8 and othe other a 6. So I am currently using both my PCIe power cables on my gpu. The PCIE cables have a 6pin with a 2 pin hanging next to it
