Thanks for the feedback. Would you say for the PSU go down to a bronze plus? I assumed the license on pc part picker was a normal one, assumed that from windows it would be the same price. When you say to get from microsoft do you mean directly from their website? What would be the Nvidia equivalent of the 5700, 2060? -
Hi everyone, I'm currently in the market for a new PC or semi-used for my racing simulator that I am going to be building this winter/fall. I have put some parts together already but am not sure what GPU to use. My use for the pc will literally only be for simulator racing, triple 144hz, 1080p or 1440p, 1ms monitor setup. I also have an HTC which I am planning to use aswell for this build. I'm trying to keep a budget of around 1500$ CAD. I will link the parts I have already chosen If you think I have a certain part that is too much for what I'm gonna be using it to let me know. This is my 3rd pc build now https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/BzYpdX PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 3.7 GHz 8-Core Processor $334.99 @ Newegg Canada CPU Cooler Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM 75 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler $174.99 @ Canada Computers Motherboard Asus ROG STRIX X470-F Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard $235.50 @ Vuugo Memory G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory $144.99 @ Newegg Canada Storage Samsung 970 Evo 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Storage Western Digital Caviar Blue 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $53.50 @ Vuugo Case Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case $119.50 @ Vuugo Power Supply EVGA SuperNOVA G3 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply $128.45 @ Amazon Canada Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM 64-bit $178.50 @ Vuugo Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total (before mail-in rebates) $1400.42 Mail-in rebates -$30.00 Total $1370.42 Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-08-22 13:10 EDT-0400

Which Razer Laptop to buy for school
zconflictz7 replied to zconflictz7's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
good to know about razer i have brought it down to https://www.staples.ca/products/2868615-en-msi-gs65-8rf-074ca-156-gaming-laptop-22-ghz-core-i7-8750h-256-gb-ssd-16-gb-ddr-iv-nvidia-geforce-gtx1070-windows-10-pro VS https://www.staples.ca/products/2948455-en-asus-rog-zephyrus-gu502gu-xb74-156-inch-notebook-26-ghz-intel-core-i7-9750h-512-gb-ssd-16-gb-ddr4-windows-10-professional The only real difference is the MSI have a 1070 with 256gb of ssd while the ASUS has 512gb with a 1660ti. Not to sure which one to choose solely based on performance. -
I was looking at the razer blade 15 with the 1060 and 2060, as well as the razer blade stealth. I'm torn between which one to buy because Id like to buy the cheapest one that suits all of my needs seamlessly. All I would be using it for its general school work, 3d modeling for engineering, 2.7k video editing, and some light gaming. Is there a different laptop you recommend all together? Thanks

https://www.amazon.ca/Cyber-Acoustics-CA-3602FFP-Powered-Speaker/dp/B00BXF5HQ8/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2JUY0MT9TDNS1&keywords=cyber+acoustics&qid=1552175740&s=gateway&sprefix=cyber+ac%2Caps%2C197&sr=8-3 I've had these for around 4 years now. For the 50 bucks, they are awesome. The bass is really good for that price. Sound quality is pretty decent. However, at max volume, you start to lose sound quality. If you're looking for speakers to play games through, watch movies and listen to music these are perfect.

Ohh I know what you're talking about now. Linus did a video on it not that long ago

Like Nvidia shadow play?

Not sure where to post this but I figured that since it was a pc game this would be the best place. Here is what I remember about the game. I'm trying to remember the name of a game I used to play as a kid. the so early 2000s. All I remember about the game is that you start stranded. There are monkeys that throw rocks at you. I think the premise of the game was solving riddles to open a submarine. I remember that the submarine was filled with some weird floating metal things or aliens. I think you needed a four digit code to open the submarine. A couple of other things I remember is that there was an old grain windmill and you had to fix the canvas arms. I also remember this scene from the start where you would walk on a rake on the ground and that it would come up and hit you in the face. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your reply. I'm gonna use what you mentioned to see if that works.

The mic isnt clipping. the static is heard when listening on the computer. I wasn't able to use direct monitor since i don't have headphones to plug into it. is it possible that its most likely interference from my computer?
-
Yea its on. The static happens when its on or off.
-
Is that the 48v setting on the mixer? or is that a program? sorry, its been a while since I set it up.
-
I have an AT 2020 condenser mic with a Behringer UMC22 2x2 mixer. In the background, there is extreme static and computer interference sounds. Sometimes my mic will have like a stroke and start blasting static killing my friend's ears. Any time I bump or touch my mic arm it has a static attack. The only way to stop the static is to unplug the xlr connection on the Mic, sometimes that doesn't even fix it. Im trying to figure out if the problem is my computer, Mic, or mixer. Thanks
-
I would turn off your pc. I turn mine off anytime I work on the components. I do the same for the PSU just in case I bump the power button. If you turn off the PSU switch you don't need to unplug the PSU from the outlet however if you feel more comfortable in doing so id do it. I recommend never working on a powered on pc because if you are using any tools you risk shorting your board. Hope this helps.

Trying to combine two partitions Please Help
zconflictz7 replied to zconflictz7's topic in Troubleshooting
Not sure if something went wrong but I don't see a link to the partition tool. -
I have a 970pro with two partitions I'm trying to combine. When I create a simple volume then try to extend that volume I get a warning that the drive will be converted to dynamic. Once it converts it, an error pops saying not enough space so then it doesn't combine. All I want is one partition for the entire drive.(pictures included)
