  1. Sure I will try that and get back to this forum! Btw the HDD doesn't make any noises and I defragmented it and ran a diagnostic tool but did not report any error!
  2. First of all, when I first bought the system, they only had 6500 Processors and I bought what is available. For the FPS drops, they are like glitches. Sometimes, it takes so much time to load, and draw distance is limited on GTA V. Like it draws the objects on a slow pace. I have no idea whether it's the GPU or the game is struggling to get assets from the HDD. BTW all my games are in the secondary drive. Will this be a performance hit?
  3. Thank you for your reply. I got all the USB drivers from the manufacturer and updated them! The USB issue persists for any USB device I plug in! either it's a USB pen drive or an external device. I have updated the GPU to the latest drivers but still coudn't figure out what's going on.
  4. Hi all, I build my gaming pc last october and following is my build details. Processor - Intel Core i5 - 6500 M/B - ASUS z170 Pro Gaming Ram - 16GB G-SKill Ripjaws-x 2400 GPU - Palit Geforce GTX 970 4GB Primary HDD - Intel 530 Series 120GB SSD Secondary HDD - WD Caviar Blue 1TB PSU - Silverstone 600W CPU Cooler - Cooler Master seidon 120v plus OS - Windows 10 64bit Education version Recently, I've noticed a good deed of performance decrease. I' currently playing GTA V, Witcher 3, SIMS 4 and Metal Gear Solid. Sometimes, the fps of the games, what ever I play drops. Furthermore, I couldn't attach any USB drives after I play a game. I simply have to restart the system in order to get the USBs to recognize. I don't see any changes in the device manager as well. I re installed my OS couple of times but, didn't help at all. Is there any bottle neck in the system or, what should I do to get rid of these issues? all of the games are played in 1080p display and the 970 is more than adequate GPU to handle 1080p gaming. Am I missing any thing over here? please help. Glad to provide any other information you need.
  5. What about silverstone strider 600W PSU. I already have one so I could use that!
  6. Well the first thing I did was that! actually went to several stores and tried to find a motherboard and all were out of sandy bridge boards. Even is some had boards they refused to give me the default warranty such as 3 years. They would only give me around 6 months for boards from manufacturers like AsRock.
  7. Is there any reason for changing the PSU. I read some reviews and they were pretty good actually.
  8. What about Silverstone? I've got a silverstone strider 600W non modular one in my current build so I could use that!
  9. I'm in Sri Lanka and my budget is around $1200 for the build without the GPU since I have a GTX 960. I'm upgrading since the system I'm using is now almost 5 yrs old and the motherboard has some issues such as the hard disc activity is not shown.
  10. Hi All, I'm planning on building a skylake build! I have researched and found out the parts I need for the PC I'm going to build. The GPU is the only one I would take from my current SandyBridge build which is a MSI GTX 960. So I would like if you guys can point me out whether the parts I've selected are good enough or if there are better products for similar price range, please suggest me what they are. Processor : Intel Core I5-6600K Motherboard : ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING Memory : Corsair Vengeance Lpx 16GB 2X8GB Soild State Drive : Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB SSD Hard Disk Drive : Western Digital Blue 1TB 7200RPM Power Supply : Corsair CX Series CX600M 600W Chassis : Cooler Master CM Storm Scout 2 Cooler : Corsair H60 Hydro Front Base : ASUS ROG Front Base Fans : Corsair Air Series SP120 LED White 4 Fans Please let me know what can be improved and what shouldn't be bought. This is my first build so please help me on this.
  11. @SkilledRebuilds : the current tasks I do involves gaming, movies and development. They go OKAY with the current build! The other thing is there are minor hickups in this pc such as, the harddisk signal is not working and I'm using a PCI-e 3Gen card on a 2nd GEN M/B. Those are some facts that I thought of renewing the Build. I get that it depends on me whether I should upgrade or not. @KemoKa : I went through some stores who have Skylake in my country currently ( not every store has skylake atm ) and I could find the following spec. WIll it be a better build? Processor : Intel Core i5 6600K M/B : Gigabyte Z170X-Gaming 3 RAM : Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4 2666Mhz GPU : MSI GTX 960 2GB HDD : 1.5TB SSD : Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB PSU : FSP Aurum CM 650W 80+ Gold Modular CASE : COOLER MASTER CM Storm Scout 2 CPU Cooler : CORSAIR H55 Will the above spec be a good performer? is there any bottlenecks or things I should change?
  12. Hi all, I currently have a pc with the following specification. Processor : Intel SandyBridge 2500 M/B : Intel DH67BL RAM : 8GB Gskill Ripjaws X GPU : MSI GTX 960 2GB HDD : 1.5TB PSU : Silverstone Strider 600W 80% Bronze The system works fine and the games run smooth but it's getting a bit old since I bought it in around 2011. I was doing some research on the internet and with the skylake currently being release I was thinking of upgrading the system to skylake. Is it a worthy option to upgrade the entire system to a new one? I'm keeping the GTX 960 as the GPU even if I buy a new system. Can any one please explain me the pros and cons of upgrading my current setup to a skylake setup. Thank you.
