  1. Mine worked fine out of the box. Second day I had it, the 2nd gpu was being detected off and on. That kind of lead me down the paths described. Then I got a new monitor with my new rig a month later and started having the problems with SLI not enabling in the nvidia control panel.
  2. I had this exact same problem as you (except I kept my 2nd monitor). Here is a slew of options I went through that was caused by different things: I replaced a 6+2 pin VGA cable that was faulty (this fixed the SLI option for me). This was the problem when my 2nd card wasn't detected in BIOS. Set the refresh rate for both monitors under the Windows Display Settings>Advanced Display Settings>Display Adapter Properties>Monitor>Screen Refresh Rate. This fixed it for me when I got a new monitor and Nvidia control panel wouldn't let me enable SLI. I also replaced my displayport cable and SLI bridge. Hope one of these will help.
  3. Awesome! Glad to hear you were able to keep it. I absolutely love it. My brother-in-law is going to pick one up after seeing how amazing it was over the holidays.
  4. What does the Z35 have to do with the discussion? It wasn't mentioned in here at all.
  5. Again, I fall back to, as someone who ACTUALLY owns an X34, I can't recommend it enough.
  6. As Metro said, the x34 does have issues, but as someone that actually owns an x34, it's well worth it. The monitor is gorgeous and the performance is amazing. I had to return the first one I got as it had the wake from sleep issue. I waited for the 2nd Gen and picked one up. It was perfect out of the box. Over clocked to 100hz, no coil whine, no wake from sleep issue, no backlight bleed, and next to no glow. I highly recommend it. There is currently no current monitor better than it. Asus has their version coming out soon as well.
  7. Ah, I'm sorry to hear that man. Hope everything is okay.
  8. Awesome! Let me know how it goes for you. I went local as well since the people at Micro Center are easier to deal with and it's a lot easier to return or exchange if there are problems. So far no issues on my end.
  9. Haha I hear ya. Well, let us know what you end up going with. Took me awhile and going through a few different monitors to get what I really wanted. Always an exciting time.
  10. Sorry Anomaly. My intention wasn't to hijack the thread with conversation not related to what you were asking. I tried responding to your thread truthfully and hopefully my answers helped in your search. Either monitor would be great. I currently have the X34 and it's perfect. I've also had the previous model of the XB271HU, the 270 and it was a great monitor as well. As also mentioned, coming up soon you have the ASUS version of the X34. With any of these choices I don't think you can go wrong. Just all depends on your needs and availability.
  11. Metro, I don't care if you do not have any ASUS products. I'm quite aware of the "issues" with the monitor as I own one. I, much like everyone else spending this amount of money on equipment will have done the proper research about the product. You are correct that this was Acers bad quality control that screwed up with the X34. The issues with the ASUS monitors, are a result of ASUS' poor quality control. One thing I do agree with you on is that there's no point in continuing an intelligent conversation with you as you're obviously ill-equipped. I have first hand knowledge of how distribution and quality control actually works in the real world and not in Metro land. Plus with your "nah uhh, you are" retort, there's obviously nothing left to talk about. Other people have explained this to you as well and you're clearly lacking in the ability to admit you were wrong or in the fact that you clearly have no idea how business actually works.
  12. Again, you seem to lack the point and even a very basic understanding of business. So I'll say it slowly. ASUS. Is. Responsible. For. Their. Quality. Control. Despite what vendor they get their parts from to assemble THEIR monitors. They assemble the monitor, put their name on it, and THEY are responsible for testing their products. Several people have explained this to you and you keep running back to "waaah it's Acers fault." It's up to Asus to take the issue with bad panels to AU since it's their vendor for the panel. So yes, you are correct that this was brought up in another discussion, but since you so ignorantly just hop into every thread about an Acer product spouting nonsense, I'm going to post to prove your illogical thinking to be incorrect. Even in your own example, Corsair would be held accountable for the bad keyboards Metro. I think you need to go learn a bit about how business, manufacturing, and distribution works. The reason I know this is because I'm an IT Systems Administrator for a distribution company. So please, feel free to continue to argue your illogical points and speak without knowing.
  13. I can see what you're saying with Netflix but Honestly, I just open a Netflix window and scale it to what I feel is comfortable and it doesn't bother me at all. The jump from 100-144 was nowhere near noticeable for me honestly. I had a 144hz panel before the X34 and I can visually see no difference as I had them side by side. On that note though, I may not be that sensitive to that change. Now the jump from 60-100, yeah buddy, that's a huge change.
  14. Metro, you are literally one of the most daft people I've ever encountered. The panel is created by AU optronics, but again as many people have already told you and proven, every company is responsible for their own quality control. Asus is responsible for their OWN qc. If Ford makes a car and it has an engine problem or something wrong with another part nobody goes freaking out at the company that made the part, they go back to Ford. So quit with your ridiculous witch hunt hard on for Acer and deal with it. Asus is just as responsible for shipping out bum monitors as Acer/Samsung/LG/etc. Now quit acting like a child. Each company makes quality monitors when the monitor doesn't have defects.
  15. I absolutely love it. Hands down worth every penny. Games are smooth and the colors look gorgeous. I have tons of space for multitasking. The look of the monitor is nice and the light bar under the monitor is a really nice touch without being overpowering. I honestly can't recommend this monitor enough.
