  1. Hi guys! Looking for a bit of advise, I’m looking to change my the cpu and ram and not sure if I’m going to gain any extra performance for the price current setup: i5 12400f, 16gb ddr4 ram upgrade: amd 7600, b650 motherboard, 32gb ddr5 ram keeping 240 aio, nvme, rtx 4080 fe, 750 watts psu I only play games on my 4k monitor cheers
  2. Also I've got a msi b660 mortar paired with a i5 12400f if I swapped that out for a k series would I be able to overclock it, as there is options to do so in the bios and the motherboard has 2 8pin eps connections. Strange thing to have if you can't overclock like the Internet says you can't
  3. Thank you for the response Dr dray, it's the one thing I haven't checked, was so focused on thinking it was the gpu failing, didn't think about the cable. Just tried a different cable and that seems to have fixed the problem
  4. Hi guys My computer when stood doing nothing, the screen keeps flickering, I've tried a clean install of nvidia drivers using ddu but the problem still persists. I'm using a rtx 3070ti. When running Valley benchmark Mark I get 75c on the clock and 81c on memory And 88.4c on hot spot. Is the memory failing on the gpu? I also purchased it 2nd hand, the person who sold it to me only had a month then upgraded it. He gave me the proof of purchase, (and was the main reason why i purchased it of ebay in the first place) the gpu is only a just over a year old, would I be able to claim on the warranty of the card?

  6. Sorry guys had a brain fart and thought eps connectors are the same as pci express but yes you are right if unplug 1 of the eps and replace it with a pci express I’ll have the 3rd connector needed for the gpu. Was just wondering if I needed both eps connected, but as I can’t overclock 12th gen or 13th gen anyway I cant see the system being unstable. Photo above is the back of 850 watt or higher. The 750 watt only has 4 eps/pci
  7. I currently own a MSI MAG Intel B660M MORTAR DDR4 MicroATX and a i5 12400f cpu. my power supply is a Seasonic gx focus 750 watt. I want to upgrade to rtx 4080 but don’t have enough pci express to run it unless I unplug 1 of the pci express cables from the motherboard. Will the motherboard still work with only 1 pci express cable connected and will 750 watts be enough for the system?
  8. I’ve got a Seasonic focus gx 750 watt psu
  9. Hi all Planning on upgrading my rig, I currently have a rtx 3070ti fe gpu. would my 750 watt Seasonic psu be enough to power my i5 13600kf and a rtx 4080 fe? I have a nvme and sata ssd, as well as liquid aio and 5 lian li uni fans. I play triple A games on my 4k tv and would like to do a little a bit of over locking as well. Cheers guys
  10. Current Red Mist pc. I7 4790k overclocked to 4.8ghz Msi Z97m 16 GB ram Evga 1070 ftw Corsair platinum h100i cooler 2 Samsung ssd's in raid 0 bootdrive 1.9Tb ssd for games Custom corsair cables and rm 650 watt Power supply Coolermaster Q300l case I now have a 4k monitor and want to play in 1440p or 4k and my current system above isn’t cutting it anymore, so my 2 questions are do I go with: i5 12400f or Amd 5600x msi b660m mortar or Msi b550m mortar and Corsair vengeance ddr4 3600 16gb and samsung 980 pro 500gb nvme? I want to keep the case, psu and aio (would need to upgrade the mount for intel system) and eventually replace the gpu once the prices start to become reasonable or should I replace the gpu 1st and then once that's paid for go with either amd or Intel cpu system?
  11. Hi all I am currently rocking a corsair h100i rgb platinum aio and I want to upgrade to the 12th gen 1700 socket does my aio fit the new socket or do I have to get a new bracket. Cheers everyone

  14. Managed to pick up i7 4790k for £130 plus £5 p&p, only 1 owner and he has had it for 3 years and it’s never been overclocked. I think I got a bit of a bargain with that as well as picking up a 2tb ssd for another £145 brand new (Kingston a400). My 1tb hdd game drive is running out of room so I thought I would upgrade that too.
  15. So maybe try to pick up a 2nd hand i7 4790k if I get one at a good price and maybe hold out till ddr 5 and new platforms in the process
