  2. I just upgraded to windows 10 and I usually put my computer to sleep but now when it wakes up I get a blue screen and the error is "attempt write to read only memory" Windows 10 messed with my power settings a bit but I switched it back to never turn off the harddrive and I disabled hybrid sleep. My bios is up to date, I'm pretty sure all my drivers are reinstalled. Any help is appreciated.
  3. Just bought a linksys EA6200 router and now I have a WRT120n router laying around. Neither of these routers support dd-wrt, however I was wondering if I could use my WRT120n as a range extender and how to set it up if it's possible. I have a switch that I can use to run it to a different location in my house.
  4. There is a key difference between manually finding artwork for 700 songs and pressing a button that will do it automatically. I want something like Rinse but free.
  5. Anyone know of a free program out there to find album artwork and missing song info for iTunes and automatically update them? Running windows 7 if that matters
  6. I would like to know what the BEST unmanaged 5-port switch is. Try not to base it on your opinions, unless you've tried more than just that one switch.
  7. I know they didn't really merge, that's why I quoted it but that word pretty much summed up what happened, as long as he didn't get all my chrome settings, extensions, and history, than it's not really a big deal, however after deleting everything I still have search history from his laptop when I was on it, is there a way to get rid of that? here is a screen cap of what it looks like http://imgur.com/xUxF6EO, I cleared my browsing data with the exception of saved passwords and content licenses.
  8. I signed into chrome on a friends laptop and now when I am on my personal rig I noticed our accounts have been somewhat "merged" I have all my extensions, but I also have his extensions, I have all my bookmarks, but I also have all his bookmarks. When I look at browsing history there are 2 columns, one for my history and one for my friends, and I assume he is having the same problem on his laptop. How can I get everything from his account off my account, short of deleting every thing and redoing all my preferences?
  9. Why not start out balls to the wall... for me, that's the only way I learn How would I go about setting up a personal cloud with Ubuntu? It seems easier than FreeNAS, or at least more user friendly in the long run(correct me if i'm wrong). I think this will be my starting point, once I'm happy with my cloud I'll move on to attempting pfSense on a VM within the Ubuntu rig
  10. Unfortunately I need it to be compatible with Linux and Windows, I've looked into software KVMs a little bit but I was unsure whether or not it was the best application for me. Will Synergy do these below listed things? Can I use it with a single monitor? What about audio(not a huge deal)? Does it work with a virtual machine? ***EDIT*** I realized that I can have my main machine as digital DVI and the Linux on analog VGA, if that helps with the first problem. The Linux system doesn't need to have good graphics, just something that i can work with and if all I need to do is smash a button on my monitor I'll be happy
  11. Theoretically, If one were to put pfSense and FreeNAS on a VM approximately how much shit will be accrued? Why is it difficult to get it working on a VM?

    Best KVM

Best bang for your buck KVM needs DVI and keyboard/mouse Just need to switch between 2 systems Would be nice if it was under $100 Suggestions?
  13. I'm probably just going to buy a consumer router and use dd-wrt. However, I still need personal cloud storage. I have an old core 2 duo with 4gb ram that I can use for a storage server. I was looking into freenas with ftp earlier but I also found Tonido, I'm not really sure how either of them work so i guess I'm asking what is the best setup for a personal cloud in your opinion?
  14. I'm in need a of a new router and I want to have some network attached storage that I can access anywhere. So what I am asking is, is it possible to set up a single machine with pfSense and Freenas with FTP so I can have a good home router with a cheap personal cloud setup? My main goal is to spend as little money as possible while still getting a good router and some sort of personal cloud storage that I can access anywhere. Any other ideas are welcome!
  15. Can a linksys E1200 with dd-wrt firmware work as an AP for wireless and wired?
