  1. I have a home server that I want to install a *virtual machine* on that with a dedicated NIC and hard drive to run my security cameras. I do not want and do not want to mess with any docker containers right now and just want a good piece of software for this. If it means installing linux on a VM and then installing security software, so be it. I really want to use Frigate but it'll only install via Docker and the built-in HomeAssistant version is garbage.
  2. I really like the convenience and easy-to-use front end of Google Drive, but I don't like Google. I like the DIY-ness of Plex and its easy-to-use front end, but Plex is for media rather than straight-up file access. Is there an application that's like Plex, where you use your own server and hard drive, but it can contain files that can be easily accessed remotely? TLDR: Plex for Files.

    KJ7ABS?

"KJ7ABS" is at the bottom of the LTT channel "about" page. Is this a Canadian thing or is it something else?
  4. A 2060 Super is $500 more than a 2060. I am not shelling out almost $800 for a GPU
  5. Is performance noticeable or am I better off getting a 2060 with a better designed cooler?
  6. Not so much in it for the ray tracing; only game I ever play that would have ray tracing is Minecraft.
  7. Buying my first Ray Tracing GPU. EVGA has a "KO" 2060 but I have no idea what that means. Is it any better than a 2060 or should I not waste my time?
  8. How many rigs and what caliber of power do they have that would warrant such an increase?
  9. I've added an interesting piece of hardware to my folding farm. This is a Phoenix Contact PPC-5319 Panel PC from 2004. It rocks a "Banias" Pentium M with 1.6 GHz crammed through a 400 MHz FSB. It's also got 512 MB of RAM and a 30 GB Maxtor hard drive and a fresh copy of Windows 7 32-bit. Not bad for a company that also makes hammers. Where my Ryzen 7 2700 is estimated to rake in 150,000 points a day, it seems this beauty will bring in about 59. Efficient in any way? No. Really cool? Yes. It picked up work right away, so I guess there are some WU's optimized for a 32-bit glorified toaster.
  10. Did a new WU server go up? I was at a drought but now all 7 of my rigs have work.
  11. Yeah Chrome acts strange with the Web Control. Firefox works 100% or just load up the advanced control.
  12. Did Jake or anyone say when the in-house WU server as going up or when they're testing it?
  13. Has Jake or anybody mentioned when they will be testing the in-house server with WU's? With the saturation of so many users, my rigs have barely had any work.
  14. Anyone on here running really old hardware? Oldest I'm running currently is an early Core 2 Duo. I want to get my Compaq Deskpro EN with a Slot 1 PIII up and running with Mint and FAH. I tried a Pentium D but all it did was heat the room and take longer, so I swapped back in the lower clocked C2D.
  15. Servers are currently overloaded because of so many new members... They said they're working on it.
  16. Walked out into my garage where my folding farm is and it was actually warm in there
  17. Yeah my 7800 GTX has the reverse cooler. I used to have two of them and they came out of an Alienware Aurora 7500 SLI. Very powerful for the time and still sought after. I sold the Athlon FX-51 out of it a few years ago for over $100... too bad the motherboard went bad.
  18. I have a GeForce 7800 GTX from 2005 I can use to fold. It's an absolute space heater so I wonder how warm I can make my garage lol
  19. I'm having a great time! I now have 8 computers folding. I'm out of school for 3 weeks and I kinda want to ask if I can set up my school's library computers to fold since no one is there except core staff.
  20. One weird thing I've noticed is that all my less powerful Core 2 Duos always have work, but my more powerful computers are getting maybe one project a day. I guess more projects exist for dual cores?
