  1. I've tried this multiple times already. I guess you're right, it's time to look elsewhere.
  2. I would prefer just to fix whatever the issue is and use Window's backup. I'm trying to get everything backed up and ready to restore so I can try out Win10.
  3. I have been trying to back up my laptop (Win7 64-bit) onto a 1.5TB external drive for the past couple days, but I keep getting errors from Windows Backup Utility. The error log reads: "A shadow copy could not be created. Please check "VSS" and "SPP" application event logs for more information. Details: Insufficient storage available to create either the shadow copy storage file or other shadow copy data." The event log is showing an Event 4100 (0x81000019). My research into the issue indicates that it might be due to my System Reserved partition having less than 40MB of free space. I am unable to find any viable solutions on how to clean up this partition and it cannot be expanded. I will attach all relevant images. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will post additional information or screenshots as needed.
  4. Nevermind, looks like the fan just needed a lot more time to spin down. Not sure what the actual fix was.
  5. I recently reset my CMOS and the fan is still running. On a related note, any idea how to make the X99 Sabertooth boot faster? It seems to spend too long running through POST every time I power it on.
  6. Hey all, I've got a minor question that hopefully can be resolved quickly. I have an Asus X99 Sabertooth mobo. The small assistant fan that blows air into the TUF Guard (upper left hand corner) continues to run when the system is fully powered down. The only time it actually turns off is when the power supply is switched off. Anybody know how to remedy this? (Yes, I know, unplug it and don't use it, but I'd prefer a fix instead of a workaround.) Thanks!
  7. Hey all, I recently built a desktop, but am wondering if there is a way to transfer Office 2010 from my Win 7 laptop to the desktop (also Win 7). I found the product code for Office and entered it into the MS download page and got the response below. The Office 2010 Product Key provided represents a product which is not eligible for free download. Please re-enter your Product Key and try again, or check the list of eligible products. If this does not work, you may be interested in downloading a free trial or purchasing Office 2010 products at http://www.office.com Do I need to uninstall Office on my laptop before I can download it? Is there a workaround for this? I am not opposed to switching to an open source suite, but I would like to stick with what I know if possible. Thanks for your help!
  8. I was just considering doing this. What's the best way to transfer office from one computer to another? I have Office 2010 and both are Win 7 pc's.
  9. Tried it and it works. Guess I'll just install it whenever I feel like changing the led color.
  10. @That_Random_Guy Thanks for the head's up. I was able to control the fan speeds just fine with bios, so that's why I asked. I just want to set the color and let my fans work the way they should via bios. Do you know if there's any way to change the led without link? That would solve the primary issue here. Edit: I'm pretty sure I can set the led and just uninstall Link. But then I would have to reinstall to change color (not that I anticipate doing that often).
  11. Title says it all. I have an H110i GTX and only want a way to control the RGB lighting. I want my bios to control the fan speed. Is there a way to do this? Or even a non-Link way to control the lighting?
  12. I did that. My mouse worked when I plugged it in. When the computer tried to reinstall the drivers, it stopped working again.
  13. I just got my new pc up and running yesterday. I was using an old Deathadder 3.5G when I started downloading drivers and it worked fine. Then I added my Deathadder Chroma and installed Razer Synapse 2.0. Everything worked fine last night. This morning both of my mice were recognized as keyboards, though the 3.5G was also seen as a mouse and worked. I uninstalled and reinstalled Synapse, but the Chroma is still seen as a keyboard. I checked and it works perfectly fine on my laptop. Any ways to fix this?
  14. I've been using an Alienware M17x R3 for years and I've loved it the entire time. Never had any issues and added in a SSD a while back to help speed it up. The primary issue is that other than memory and storage, it's not upgradeable. My laptop is showing it's age by low frame rates in newer games. If you invest the same amount of money into a desktop (Alienware or otherwise), you can have a decent machine that allows upgrades in the future. So it's a choice you have to make: portability vs. longetivity.
  15. Where did you get the second release? Who has them in stock?
