  1. Hi everyone, I am looking to upgrade my monitor which is a 27" 1440p 144hz Asus ROG Swift PG279Q i bought in 2016. https://tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/asus_rog_swift_pg279q.htm I haven’t been keeping up with the market so i need some suggestions on a 4k monitor around 27-32" preferably. The max budget is £1500. Use cases: PS5 XBOX X Display for Macbook aka office work. Movies Maybe PC gaming again in the future. If anyone has any suggestions on a 4k monitor that i can get for another few years without having to upgrade, i would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!!
  2. I'm not too familiar with correct terminology as i'm not a dev, but they do use java for the backend with a javascript front end, i'm not sure what that is categorised as.
  3. Thanks, i'll take a look
  4. sorry i mean web apps, there is no particular preference on the language, java web apps are mostly what i support at work, so i have heard the most about java.
  5. Does anyone have any good tips on learning to create apps in java? I work as a (linux) ops engineer and write lots of scripts in ruby interacting with API's and parsing JSON, but i'm not really sure where to start with learning java or creating apps. I have been interested in trying to learn how to create apps, I write lengthy scripts in mostly ruby and bash but have no clue how to transfer what i know to app development. Has any one been in a similar situation or has some tips? Also should i look for intermediate resources or complete beginner? Any advice would be greatly appreciated ?
  6. Thanks I'll look in to it.
  7. Hi everyone, I've just bought a tower server on a really good deal. The specs are: Intel Xeon E3-1226v3 3.30 GHz 16GB (2 x 8GB ECC) 2 X Enterprise HDD's I'm looking to use this as NAS, for Plex and for VM's. Which OS is best for this? Also are there any other uses? I want to try and make the most of the hardware. Thanks in advance.
  8. Thanks and will do! I appreciate the advice!!
  9. I've just bought the P7's, thanks again. Do you think I need an DAC for my Nexus 6p? Some other Nexus users have as the onboard is not very good apparently.
  10. I'm not too bothered about looks, if they look good it's a bonus. I've heard of the P7's they are on my shortlist. Thanks for the other recommendations! I've never heard of those before.
  11. I'll have a look into them, I tried to buy a pair of VModa a few years ago but they didn't stock well in the UK.
  12. Yep, I totally get that but people in a gaming / PC enthusiast crowd probably won't ever agree with beats as a viable option. Personally they aren't for me but I can get why some people like them.
  13. I've heard the new beats are better, but I still don't think I can bring myself to buy beats due to build quality. Anything else is fair game and the budget is only the max I will look at all prices below that.
  14. Thanks! I'll look into those.
  15. Hi Everyone, Does anyone know any good headphones for £350 or below? I will mostly be using them on my android phone or laptop, maybe with a external DAC if I can find a good one. I will be traveling with them quite a bit which may rule out open headphones. Thanks in advance!
