  1. Thank you guys for the suggestion! Truthfully had no idea, was just learning powershell and trying to dig into it because that’s what I was recommended for moving up from my current position, like I said, newbie. I’ll start diving into C# then! thank you so much!
  2. Good Morning! I'm hoping im posting this in the right part of the forum, if not, let me know and i can make a new post in the right spot. For starters, super new to using powershell scripting (and any programming language for that matter), and this has kinda turned into my pet project to keep learning. So, essentially, I wanted to make a GUI that could be ran by anyone in my workplace to execute simple commands for now. I would like to expand it to other things in the future, but for now, just things like dism/sfc, gpupdate, etc. Also, yeah, its pretty useless for anyone who just memorizes the commands, but I work for a school division that really under-appreciates their IT staff, and our entry level position starts at 19k a year, full time, for work that is way above that pay grade, so we get very inexperienced/ uninitiated hires (understandably so). I've been the one taking the initiative to try and make their lives at least a little easier with better documentation, resources, communication and hopefully, this script. What i'm trying to accomplish is packaging the batch files i've made with my script, either in an exe, xml, whatever it needs to be, so that way when I send it to someone, they don't need to edit the script to put in the address of the bat file, which defeats the whole purpose of the file. I've tried looking elsewhere, seeing suggestions for dot-sourcing, then using powershell pro tools to make a exe that attempts to gather the dot-sourced files, I've tried using ps2exe hoping that it would just magically want to grab them for some reason, i've attempted to skip the bat file and use cmd.exe /c to just execute the command, but i'm starting to think i just don't understand how that is supposed to work, since the examples i've seen of that in action had the batch file address after it anyways. Also, this is the part that I think is useful for this problem, i'm not sure what exactly is needed so i'm just trying to give as much info as I can provide. < $btnsfc.add_click({start-process C:\Users\Users\Desktop\DISM-SFC-SFC.bat}) $btngpu.add_click({start-process C:\Users\Users\Desktop\GPUPDATE.bat}) $btnchk.add_click({start-process C:\Users\Users\Desktop\_CHK_DSK_.bat}) $btnprntspl.add_click({start-process C:\Users\Users\Desktop\Restart_Spooler.bat}) I also attached the full script in case it was needed, I'm not sure how kosher that is so if it isnt im sorry in advance! Is this something that just isn't doable because of powershell? Or am I just approaching it wrong? PS GUI(1).ps1
  3. Aw, but it’s fun freaking out over a situation that’s probably going to be fixed by tomorrow
  4. Wait, the main LTT channel is gone, can’t find it in my sub list or in notifications
  5. Someone is working overtime and probably deserves a raise for them to get it at least back to LTT *something* this fast:
  6. Side note, just realized that the thumbnail says “the system is down”, definitely not intentional
  7. I didn’t know the best place to put this, but just got a notification for one of those BS Tesla crypto streams, I clicked on it, and it directed me to the LTT channel, but a LOT of the info has been changed to seem legitimate, attached the best screen shot I could grab to represent what I meant. Hopefully someone is having a really early morning this morning at LTT… Good thing I have floatplane
  8. This one is super weird to me: I’m a Field Tech for the local school system and we have a bunch of HP 600 pro desk G4s at the high school. We got these all last year, they were all imaged correctly when they were first brought in so they worked at one point. Recently, I’ve had a total of 3 desktops (potentially a 4th because one was just reported at the time of writing this) that boot, let me play around in the bios, but when I want to go to windows, it will show the normal windows logo for a second, then nothing. I can remote into the computer and see that it’s working, but other than that no luck. I tried drivers while removing in and nothing. A reimage won’t work because once it gets to the windows section of the installation it has no video out, and that’s where our reimage ends itself (assuming reimaging is different for other organizations). The device is connected to an old AF, square, HP monitor from 2004 ish, but I tried it with a newer monitor and same thing. On the first one I replaced ALL of the internals except the SSD (because why would it be that?), I eventually had an extra SSD that was from kioxia from a different broken device that was beyond repairing. So I said F it and swapped it out. The original SSD was from SK Hynix. After swapping it it worked and booted to windows with video out and everything. Ant ideas of why the SSD is the issue instead of the cpu or VGA port? Any ideas of what else I should check? Cause I just find it crazy that 1- the SSD is the fix and 2- that I have to replace it each time one pops up. Any help would be great! I’ve got one on my desk and the other one I need to go check on so let me know if there are any other questions or things I should try before ordering a new ssd! -Mark
  9. Ive Tried the xbox app, but the game hot bar never shows up in any of my games at all! so i dont have the choice to even record!
  10. Hello! Im a small YouTuber who has been trying soooo many different things to record his screen with on his pc. and my problem is my CPU. Everything i try using either destroys my CPU Which in turn Destroys FPS, or i record just fine with frames and such, but it is always a black screen when i play the video back, but i can hear audio. Ive Tried Fraps, OBS, Dxtory, even Hyper Cam! and it either black screens in playback or it destroys the Frame counter, im hoping anyone here has a good solution to this because i really wanna record on my PC without breaking the bank, yet.
  11. Thank you all for your suggestions! im thinking and comparing each and everyone that was given
