  1. I am trying to get rid of having to get a server for pfsense and also get a 10G switch, making it 2 things to worry about So why not get one giant mikrotik core router and connect my servers to it directly? I only have like 8 servers to connect to with dual 10 SFP+ ports each Here is the mikrotik router am thinking about CCR2216-1G-12XS-2XQ https://mikrotik.com/product/ccr2216_1g_12xs_2xq Please advice on if this is a good plan or what issues i will have going this route
  2. thinking of getting this actually http://www.accellcables.com/collections/adapters/products/displayport-1-2-to-4-displayport-multi-display-mst-hub?variant=1129930136 good? so just need to use 2 x displayports and i can have 8 monitors
  3. I am using dell 17 inch http://www.recycledgoods.com/dell-fp816-1708fpb-17-active-matrix-tft-lcd-flat-panel-display.html same for all 4 for now and will be same for all 8 only take VGA and DVI
  4. My plan is to connect 8 monitors to this graphics card very soon...all same monitors. So i might as well start with that adapter so that way i get 2 monitors on 1 displayport Or what will be great move towards connecting 8 monitors?
  5. What if i use something like this http://www.startech.com/AV/Splitters/DisplayPort/DisplayPort-to-Dual-DVI-Multi-Monitor-Adapter-Male-to-Female-DP-to-2x-DVI-3840x1200~SP122DP2DVI Will it count one displayport as 2 DVI or one DVI? Thinking of getting two of those and connect the 4 monitors..will that work? Thanks
  6. Ok thanks will try and do that then But am still not sure why in hell AMD decided to add this limitation, i mean this is one of the most stupid limitation i have seen. I see these stuffs with paid licensing of software, can't believe AMD will do a thing like that with 8GB RAM DDR5 and yet have such idiotic limitation. NVIDIA the competitor doesn't have that and shows how much dumb the company is.
  7. My monitors only take DVI and VGA So what do i do here? What is the reason for this restriction? because it makes no sense to me
  8. I remember when i bought this graphics card https://www.asus.com/us/Graphics-Cards/STRIXGTX960DC2OC4GD5/gallery/, all 4 monitors worked, but then i had to return because the useless nvidia card wasn't compatible with my motherboard(https://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/Xeon/C600/X10DAi.cfm) So why in hell they have 5 outputs and yet i can barely connect 4 monitors? I mean why did the other graphics card work then and this is not? SO what do i do now? Like i said the 1 x HDMI is not been used, i only used the 3 x Displayport and 1 x DVI
  9. the 3 x Displayport are connected via an adapter(displayport to DVI) that connects to the monitor via 3 x DVI cables (DVI to DVI) and the 1 x DVI is just connected direct using the DVI to DVI cable to monitor I can pretty much select what monitor to be active except that the graphics card wont activate all 4 Really weird especially with the freaking power this graphics card has. Each monitor is a dell 17 inch monitor with 1280 x 1024 resolution each, so not even HD on any of the monitor
  10. bought it https://www.asus.com/us/Graphics-Cards/STRIXR9390DC3OC8GD5GAMING and it did fit Thanks
  11. Just bought this graphics card https://www.asus.com/us/Graphics-Cards/STRIXR9390DC3OC8GD5GAMING/specifications/ and just found out i can only have 3 monitors active at a time. I currently have 4 monitors but shows 4th as inactive. Of the 5 outputs i populated the 1 x DVI and the 3 x Displayport with the 1 x HDMI unused What can i do to activate 4th display and why is this happening in the first place. It sees all 4 monitors but can only have any 3 active and shows 4th as inactive Thanks
  12. DO NOT BUY NVIDIA GRAPHICS CARD!!! yes they may work for some but when you leave the single CPU motherboards behind and get serious with your computing you will learn the hard way. Just found out the garbage NVIDIA graphics wasn't compatible with the dual xeon E5-2600v3 motherboard from Supermicro. Not sure if it was the hardware or software, but i will think the software(the notorious troublesome nvidia driver) for now. Their customer service support sucks as well; they always want to get off the phone and don't want to do much work which i dont blame the reps as am sure they get lots of calls cos of their garbage hardware/software. Like i said yes several people may find them okay, but that is because you guys use a single CPU motherboard. Am sure nvidia is just lazy to care enough to support motherboards that are meant for the super users. Anyways thanks to all that gave up trying to help and those that never tried to help. Thanks to all! P.S Got an AMD graphics card and all problem disappeared into thin air!
  13. So which AMD graphics card with 5 outputs can i get?
  14. I am trying to get the Asus Strix Radeon R9 390 graphics card http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1175506-REG/asus_strix_r9390_dc3oc_8gd5_ga_radeon_r9_390_8gd5.html/prm/alsVwDtl and wondering if it will fit the Define Xl R2 computer case http://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/cases/define-series/define-xl-r2-black-pearl Thanks
  15. is this thread closed or no one will help or reply again?
