  1. If i go for FD Define Mini S? Then i will keep my cooler perhaps? And change the PSU with EVGA Supernova G3 550W? It's too much, but i want something with decent quality ... The electrical grid here is not so great so i need all the protection i can get. Was thinking about Seasonic M12II because of the ribbon cables, but it will be a downgrade i think. I want something that is not group regulated ... Also, i am not making any 3D work, so rendering is not an issue for now. Hmmm ... Coffeelake is not a bad idea also. Edit: Can you recommend a good PSU with ribbon cables? And good itx case? Define Nano S is good enough? And a motherboard if i decide to keep my CPU? Something with a good layout for that case?
  2. Hello, I am thinking about making my PC smaller. My current build is: MB: Asus H170-Pro Gaming CPU: i5-6500 CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U12S RAM: 2x4 Corsair LPX @2133Mhz Sound Card: Asus Xonar D2X HDD: WD Blue 1TB SSD: Samsung 250GB 850 EVO PSU: Evga Supernova G2 750W Case: FD Define R4 (window) I know the PSU is a big overkill. I wanted it to be as quiet as possible. I had a MSI GamingX 1060, but i don't play games anymore, so i sold it. Perhaps in future i will buy something like 1050/1050Ti but that's it. Nowdays when i look at the PC case it is so empty ... i don't like the thought about wasted potential So i am thinking about going ITX route. Never done that before ... I want it to be easier for carying around. It is mostly used for multimedia and a few professional programs like Photoshop, but nothing serious. Games i play(if any) are mostly old-school, so VGA is no problem at all at this point. Do you think it is worth it going for AMD? Or keep my CPU and change only the PSU and Motherboard? I don't want to touch it for a long time. Only CPU change if that gets too weak. Do you guys have any advise? About motherboard and such? It will be nice to have Wi-Fi and maybe USB Type C. Not sure really ...
  3. I do like their sound signature. The bass is there but not too much. Maybe a bit tighter would be nice. I like the warm sound. I have for example the Superlux HD668B, which are open ones, and they also sound great(for that price) ... but the treble there gets me fatigue. So Cloud i think is a nice balance. Edit: I can get a second hand AT-m40x at a very good price right now - 75$. Would that be better? I will still have to change/clean the ear pads and clean the headset with anti-bacterial solutions, but otherwise they look as good as new. But not sure what are the drawbacks of buying second hand headsets.
  4. Well, the motherboard sound does have a headphones amplifier ... There is that ... The HT|Omega Fenix i can't find in any store in my country(Bulgaria). In this case, can you recommend a better quality headphones? The have to be closed though. As much as i like the open cans, i have to keep the noise at minimum in my environment. And they have to be comfortable, because i am wearing them for long sessions ...
  5. I tend to listen mostly at lossless audio and blue-ray movies. Some games also, but there should be no difference there with my onboard. I just want to hear as much details as possible. I don't want to change them right now, because i returned 4 other sets and those are the most comfortable ones i have ever used. Also i like the warm sound that they offer ... no fatigue there. Are you sure, that there will be no difference at all? I was hoping for a nice change ... not the WOW effect but still ...
  6. Hello I want to buy a sound card for my headphones - HyperX Cloud I, to get the most out of them. In future i might buy a better headset, but for now i am quite happy with them so no hurry. I currently use the onboard audio(SupremeFX) from my motherboard - Asus H170-Gaming Pro. Right now i am looking at two options: Asus Xonar U7 - brand new with 3 years warranty = 76$ or Asus Xonar D2X - second hand for about the same price as the U7 = 79$ I am only using headphones, so the extra 7.1 doesn't matter. Can you please help me decide? Or is there a better solution for this budget?
  7. Because i want something more versatile. Something that can go in the laptop if needed. And also i want a bit more quality enclosure, not just bare bone plastics. The extra software that comes with those drives is also of no interest for me.
  8. Hello there guys(and girls if any). I have a question about an external solution. First i was thinking about AIO ready external solutions, but after some research i couldn't find anything to my liking. So i decided to go for HDD enclosure + 2,5" HDD as the more practical solution. The drive will be used as a backup plan and no extended use. Transfer my data -> back in the drawer. So for HDD I stopped at 1TB Hitachi Travelstar 5K1000. Is that a good choice? I like my older Hitachi drives - outlived all my Baracudas by quite some time. It's 5,400 rpm, so i guess it will not get too hot? For the enclosure i am not sure. There are so many models out there ... I was thinking about something in the 30-40$ range. I like the features in Zallman ZM-VE350, but it is too expensive in my country(almost as much as the HDD itself), so i want to be more practical. Does it have to be aluminum? Will it be OK in plastic enclosure too? What do you think about this Transcend StoreJet? I like the rubberized sleeve because it won't slip as easily in my hand. Also the rubber inside, which should minimize micro stutters. Also what do you think about Icy Box products? Are they good? If you have any suggestions about the HDD and the enclosure, please help. And sorry for the long post!
  9. Thank you for the info. You have been most helpful. I was excluding purple already because of the "AllFrame Technology" but didn't know about the write speeds. So i decided i will go for the normal red ones, as the Pro will be more noisy and i don't really need the extra protection in a home PC. Thank you all!
  10. So the data correction time is not less on the red ones? I mean ... not 3-5 seconds, insted of 1-2 minutes? Not that i trust the longer time will fix anything actually but still ... If reds are intended for NAS(24/7), does that mean that they have higher quality bearings? Or other parts in that matter ... And we are talking about the regular reds, right? Not the Pro ones. I have red all the info on WD site, but it is not very helpful if someone wants to know specifics. It's just baselines. I know marketing(i work in that sphere) so no bad feelings about this Edit: I think i will be getting a red one after all. Now just have to figure 1 or 2TB ... Thank you for the info guys
  11. I had my thoughts about red or even purple ones ... but i red somewhere that they have almost no data correction time? Are they good for everyday, home usage? And if red is more reliable choice than green, i don't mind the higher price.
  12. First i wish everyone a Happy New Year filled with lots of good health, good friends and luck in those things, that you can not control Now to the question: I managed to build myself a quiet PC configuration in my Define R4 but right now i have just one 250GB SSD for the OS and programs. I intend to buy a HDD 1TB or more for storage and some games, that don't benefit from being on the SSD(non multiplayer ones mostly). But i am concerned about the the noise because right now i hear only my CPU Fan(stock one), which i also intend to change with CM EVO 212X when it's available in my country. Sometimes it's very quiet around me and i can hear those little noises and they are bugging me ... i have a sensitive hearing Can you guys recommend something? I was thinking WD Blue, but i hear very mixed opinions on that matter ... maybe one of the new Blue(exGreen) 5400rpm one? I read they had problems with the parking? Are they reliable or the old blues are better in that term? I doubt i will see much difference between 7200 and 5400rpm anyway for my needs. I heard the new Seagate disks are quiet, but i don't trust much that manufacturer for i had problem with their HDD before ... Thanks in advance. You have helped me alot in my previous posts! And Happy New Yea
  13. Ahh i am so glad that it will be ok! The Be Quiet! logo will look very nice through my Define R4 window
  14. Hello, I have a question to ask again ... I have a i5-6500 and i am considering a aftermarket cooler. I have stopped at those CPU coolers: Cooler Master TX3 EVO Cooler Master T4 Be Quiet! Pure Rock I don't really think i need something more than the TX3 ... The thing bothering me is, that the TX3 has no backplate. Is it safe for the motherboard to attach aftermarket cooler without one? I also very much like the Be Quiet! one ... but i read some very alarming things about Skylake processors bending? Is it also safe to use a cooler that large? I don't know ... help me guys!
  15. Won't H170 and B150 support next one or two ticks??
