  1. Thanks for the response, that setup looks great but it doesn't seem like it would work as a portable setup. I'll keep it in mind though since it looks like a great home setup.
  2. I strongly recommend the Creative Aurvana Live! at that price. EDIT: I just noticed that you listed USD, I think you should fork out the extra for Senn HD 598/600s.
  3. Hi guys, my friend recently gave me his HD600s and my search for a dac/amp has resumed. I was looking at a couple of options from my local store, some of them are: Calyx Pat ($88), Astell & Kern AK10 ($99) and FiiO E17K. I'd like to use this at home and on the go. How do these compare for this kind of usage? Also support for lower ohm would be cool to have too.
  4. Hey guys, I noticed that this dac is on sale at a local store (50% off) and was wondering if anyone has experience with it. It's listed a snr of 98 db and 16bit/44.1khz but reviews say that it is really good. Thanks in advance.
  5. Hi guys, just wondering, how does a DAC/Amp combo such as the FiiO Q1 or E17K compare to a dedicated sound card like the Xonar U7 for powering 2.1 speakers such as Swan M50 or Logitech Z623. I've noticed most reviews focus on headphones instead of speakers and was wondering how effective a DAC/Amp combo will be. Thanks in advance.
  6. My PC jack buzzes at times and sounds worse than on my devices. I'd say it sounds a bit muddy and the bass drops. I'm assuming that it is because I don't use a dedicated sound card (apparently the motherboard one is bad) but I am no expert at audio hardware.
  7. Hi, thanks for the response, my devices seem fine but not my PC. What would you recommend instead of the above?
  8. Hi guys, thanks for your help in my earlier post. I've managed to round down a lot of options. Not sure how these compare - the main use will be to replace my PC motherboard sound card while maintaining portable use (phone/dap/console). I use low ohm headphones (16-32 range) such as the Senheisser Momentums. Thanks in advance!
  9. After some more research, E17k and Q1 are Amp/DACs with their own battery for mobile use so it's down to these two unless you can attach a portable battery to the others??
  10. Yes my onboard sounds worse than my phone...
  11. I forgot to mention that I live in Australia so most things are 30% more expensive. Dragonfly is $150 here and out of my price range sadly.
  12. The momentum on ear 2s and IEMs like Philips SHE3590 are what I use mainly.
  13. Hi, I'm looking for a all purpose device that I can use on the go and on my PC (which uses on board). The headphones I use tend to be in the 16-32 ohms impedance range so I don't think I will need a powerful amp but one with low impedance output would be nice. I've listed some options I am looking at but am still kinda lost. Any other recommendations are welcome. Also price range is less than $100.
  14. Do you know how the MMB is? I personally find the G402 and G502 MMB to be hard to press.
