  1. What is the best way to hook 4 1080p monitors and 3 4k monitors to a pc? I'm assuming I will have to use a type c, hdmi, or display port adaptor for the 4 1080p monitors, but is their better or worse way to go about it?
  2. When it does 100% CPU usage when using unreal engine sometimes, it dose get to 100° C.
  3. Is it normal for an i9-10850k to idle at 42° C? My buddy has Omen 30l prebuild. 42° C at ideal seems a little high. If it is an issue, any idea what be causing it.
  4. Budget (including currency): U.S. Dollars, No greater than $3,000 but price to performance is considered Country: U.S. Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Triple AAA and Niche games Other details: After about 8 years of building my last PC, I'm looking to build a new one. I'm shooting around 4K 60fps for Triple AAA and Niche games, however, I'm also interest keeping the build astatically pleasing. Any advise would be appreciated. -I have a particular question on the case/power supply bundle and how it relates to the CPU choice. Currently my system just barley meets the 20% headroom threshold I'm looking for. In order to get a more power CPU, I need to buy the case stand alone and a 850W SFX power supply. The case/power supply bundle is $190, link below. To by 850w SFX power supply and case separate is about $280. Thus it will cost me an additional $90. I would like get the i7 12700k as the next leave up for the CPU so that is an additional $100. Finally I'm looking at about $190 as opposed to $120 for the mother board. Altogether I'm looking at an additional $260 to have a i7 12700k. Another way to look at it that I'm effectively paying $540 for the i7 12700k [$380 (for the i7 12700k) + $90 (for buying 850w power supply and case separate) + $70 (for buying a more expensive motherboard)}. Now from what I have seen, some games will get about a 20% fps boost with the i7 12700k. Most will be in the 3%-10% range and many games it will not matter. I'll take the upper bond of most games and say 10%. So it becomes 90 Frames for the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X vs 100 Frames for the i7 12700k in most games. The GPU costs about $800 so the i7 12700k combo cost $1340 and the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X combo cost is $1080. Thus the cost per a frame for the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X is $12 and i7 12700k is $13.40. https://www.newegg.com/p/2AM-000Z-00077 PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 3.4 GHz 8-Core Processor ($286.98 @ Amazon) CPU Cooler: ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports DUO CPU Cooler ($47.99 @ Amazon) Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 AORUS PRO WIFI (rev. 1.0) ATX AM4 Motherboard ($119.99 @ Amazon) Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory ($83.99 @ Corsair) Storage: Crucial MX500 250 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (Purchased For $0.00) Storage: Crucial MX500 250 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (Purchased For $0.00) Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (Purchased For $0.00) Storage: Seagate Barracuda Compute 3 TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive (Purchased For $0.00) Video Card: MSI GeForce RTX 3080 12GB LHR 12 GB VENTUS 3X PLUS OC Video Card ($779.98 @ Newegg) Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini ATX Mid Tower Case ($130.66 @ Amazon) Power Supply: Lian Li SP 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular SFX Power Supply (Purchased For $0.00) Case Fan: Antec Prizm 5+C 45.03 CFM 120 mm Fans 5-Pack ($59.95 @ Amazon) Case Fan: Antec Prizm 5+C 45.03 CFM 120 mm Fans 5-Pack ($59.95 @ Amazon) Custom: LG 27GN950-B Ultragear Gaming Monitor 27” UHD (3840 x 2160) ($649.99) Custom: LG 27GN650-B 27-inch Ultragear Full HD (1920 x 1080) ($189.99) Custom: LG 27GN650-B 27-inch Ultragear Full HD (1920 x 1080) ($189.99) Custom: Case Power Supply Bundle ($60.33) Total: $2659.79 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2022-06-26 18:57 EDT-0400

  7. 1) Motherboard might be overkill? I do like the selection of USB ports, but I'm assuming that I'm not making full use of those pcie 5 ports. Downgrade? Unless you really think you will use all of those ports and don't want to use a USB hub, I would down grade. 4) I don't mind upgrading to get a better deal and I don't mind downgrading if the feature is really not needed. Any other thoughts would also be appreciated! -Unless you know the programs you will be using will take advantage of 32GB of ram, I would set with 16GB. That is to say so long as you have the option to add my RAM in the future. -Your RAM cost for even 16 GB seems a little high. Only certain programs benefit from high RAM speed.
  8. Appreciate it. Another question I had was is the Ryzen 5 5600X going to be sufficient. Based on this video, it seems like it will be. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FV2oZMUkRFg&t=384s

  10. I'm ok with either Intel or AMD In terms of price, just something that makes sense price to performance wise
  11. I'm planning on building a new pc and using the RTX 3080. What would be the best CPU to pair with it. I play a lot of niche games (Examples: Civ 5, Factorio, and, State of Deacy 2) that I think would benefit from a better CPU than your average GPU and CPU pairing but I'm not sure. What would you recommend?
  12. After about 8 years of building my last PC, I'm looking to build a new one. My methodolgy is to first pick out a GPU that can run current games maxed out at 4k at 60 FPS. What GPU would be best suited for this.
  13. Would you recommend AMD or Intel. Right now I'm looking at the Ryzen 3 Laptop
  14. I guess what I'm asking is what CPU would I need to run Youtube with a dozen other chrome tabs as well a word document and PowerPoint presentation and be able to switch between them without an hiccups.
  15. Looking to recommend my brother a Laptop for going back to school. He's looking for something "decent." That being said, I'm not super familiar with sweet spot in the price to performance for a productivity laptop. If you could answer any of these questions, it would be appreciate: -If you can just outright recommend a laptop, what would it be? -What is the best processor for light productivity software?
  16. I think I'm going to put it on craigslist to be bought as a whole system or parted out to see what I can get
  17. So am already going to have to replace Motherboard, and CPU so it is whatever makes sense for the combination of the 3 of them
  18. I'm looking to buy an new GPU for a PC build but it's been about 5 years since I've build a PC, so I'm not so familiar with the current price to performance of current generation GPUs. I'm currently using a gaming laptop with GTX 1060. I've got the budget to spend up to $2000 dollars on a PC build, but I'm not necessarily inclined to spend that if the price to performance warrant it or It would significantly maxing out every game. I plan getting a 4k Monitor as well as two 1080p for triple monitor games. I plan on playing some pretty demanding games like Ark. If you could point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.
  19. Here is the parts list and what they are going for. CPU: i5 4690k $60 CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO $20 GPU: MSI r9 380 $90 Motherboard: MIS Z97 Gaming 5 $60 Memory (RAM): 8 GB Hyper X DDR3-1600 $25 Power Supply: You will have to buy you a new one (About $60 new). Storage: M.2 SSD 250 GB $35 (I have 2 additional 250G Crucial BX100 for $35 each if your interested) Case: Corsair SPEC-03 Mid Tower Case $40 Cooling: 4 120mm Red LED Fans $10 Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver 5 (I can reapplied it before I give it to you) Total in parts: $340 Total with Power Supply: ~$400 Probably willing to go down to: $350 Let me know if you think that is a reasonable price.
