  1. I didn't even know you could do these things in CAD software. Yea I mostly just model parts and run code for mathematical models which I know does slow my computer quite a bit.
  2. I help prototype medical devices with solidworks. Guess I'll wait for coffeelake release.
  3. From the leaks I read, 8700k will be about $360 while 7700k is $300 now, not to mention Z370 motherboards will likely be overpriced for a while
  4. My PC is mostly for gaming and a bit of CAD. Currently running a GTX 1070 with a 1440p 144hz monitor. Should I get the 1700x or 7700k?
  5. I'm looking for a 1440p 144hz monitor preferably 27in. I am considering the Asus MG279Q and Dell S2716DG or another monitor that's similar for about $500. The Asus one is IPS and the Dell is a TN with Gsync. It's going to be right in front of my face to viewing angles don't bother me but I do want good colors like an IPS, so is Gsync better or IPS?
  6. The cable is in the middle of the keyboard which isn't great for cable routing and it's also not removable. If you like the logo and the cable is fine for you then go for it. Otherwise, I'd get the Masterkeys since it has rgb, a cleaner look, and I've seen it go for about $80 USD before. Not sure about Germany though.
  7. So instead of plugging the fan connector into the motherboard, I plugged it into my H100i and now I can control the fans with Corsair Link. Corsair's software still doesn't control my case fans though.
  8. Corsair Link does nothing to my fan speed. MSI Gaming App starts up if I look at task manager but no interface screen shows. I used both after uninstalling AI Suite.
  9. I have done all these things and yes, Noctua fans are PWM.
  10. AI Suite 3 came out with the Maximus VII series motherboards for Z97 which isn't too long ago. How do you use Corsair Link to control your fans? I have it but it has no effect on my case fans.
  11. I'm using Asus AI Suite to control my fans which are Noctua NFF12s
  12. I'm using Asus AI Suite to control my fans which are Noctua NFF12s
  13. I plugged the fan hub into SATA and a motherboard (Maximus VI Gene) fan header but my 4 nff12 are running at full speed. Is it software controlled or something?
  14. I would say the Cloud revolver is better. It has a metal frame and a springy headband which makes it feel lighter than the Cloud 2. I find that the stereo sound is also more appealing than a 7.1, especially for fps games
  15. Then theoretically I can run the previous driver on my current Windows version and it will be fine.
  16. So then why was it that I could run my 970 fine on the previous Nvidia drivers (the one before the current one)?
  17. After using DDU to remove my old drivers several times, installing my 1070 Amp Extreme, and trying to install the new drivers, I get an error saying the drivers are incompatible with my version of Windows. So I look it my Windows version up: Version 10.0 (Build 10240) and I assume that this is a newer version than the required 1511 but it's still not working. Currently installing Windows anniversary edition to see if this is a fix. Anyone have a clue as to what's wrong? Also, when I go to check my gpu using GPU Z, the name shows up as Microsoft Basic Display Adapter instead of my gpu's name which is kind of strange.
  18. So today I checked that my PSU cables were plugged in correctly and thermal paste was fine. Then I go onto event viewer and the only pattern I see is Critical Kernel Power Event ID 41 Error Event Log Event ID 6008 Warning DNS Client Events Event ID 1014 I have no idea what it means and still not sure whats causing the bsod.
  19. Ok, I'll check my thermal paste and event viewer tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks
