Thanks for your advice but I think I will still go with the Deepcool S40 because I have read in reviews that it cools like 15-20 degrees better than stock. It is under 30 db when running at slow speed and around 45 db at full speed, which I think is fine. Also, it is compatible with 1151 and many AMD sockets also, which means I won't have to buy a new heatsink if I choose to upgrade my processor in the future. Only thing I want to know is if the fan is easily replaceable from heatsink in case it stops working in future. I also am worried about the RAM clearance. Do you know the answer to these 2 questions? Thanks very much!

That one is too costly. I will go for a stock intel cooler if I could find something under £5 (including shipping and thermal paste), but if I am paying more than that, I may as well spend £15-20 to get around 20 degrees improvement over a stock cooler, and a little quieter. But £30 is just too much money for my £400 dollar budget computer build. Why do you say that the Deepcool cooler is not good? Teksyndicate recommends it here - https://youtu.be/SsiHegrG3gs?t=3m32s It is only 5 degrees worse than 212 evo according to this - http://uk.hardware.info/reviews/5629/4/39-cpu-coolers-review-what-is-the-best-choice-graphs-cooling-socket-1155 Do you have any other suggestions?

no, it is not low profile. Kingston HyperX Fury Red 2x4GB. It is 1.29 inches high. Will I be able to fit the cooler?

I am thinking of buying this DEEPCOOL GAMMAXX S40 as it is available for £15. Will a 81.3 mm wide heatsink (including fan) be able to fit my microATX motherboard without blocking RAM slots? My motherboard is Asus H61M-K - specs and more images here. The Hyper 212 evo is 80 mm wide so if anyone knows if that can fit this type of motherboard without blocking RAM slots, then I can assume that so will this one.

It seems you might be right that Zalman is not as good as that website shows it to be looking at these reviews on newegg - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118100 Should I finalise TX3 evo then? Or would the £2 stock cooler type be a better deal for me since I am not overclocking?

But on this website, it seems Zalman cools around 10 degrees better than TX3 -http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/zalman-cnps11x-performa-cpu-cooler-review/6/ Also, Zalman is 120 mm fan. Should I still go for TX3?

Can anybody help me choose a good cheap CPU cooler for my i5-3470. I do not intend to overclock, but I do not have a stock cooler so need to buy aftermarket. I am actually moving from Norway to UK in a few days so I have the option of buying the CPU cooler from either UK or Norway. Here is the list of CPU coolers that fit my case and are compatible with 1155, under £20. http://pricespy.co.uk/category.php?m=s236531607&o=produkt_pris_inkmoms Here is my shortlist: CM xDream i117 - £2.29 Zalman CNPS11XP - £20.89 CM Hyper TX3 Evo - £19.37 CM Hyper 103 - £19.90 Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 - £21.85 Deepcool GamMAXX 200 - £20.74 Thermaltake Contac 21 - £18.24 I really like Hyper TX3 evo, but it is 92 mm fan while Zalman is 120 mm fan. I am leaning towards Zalman. I was also thinking of buying the £2 stock cooler type 60 mm fan CM xDream i117. Is that the best option for me considering I am not going to overclock and dont want to spend more than £20? Also, the Hyper 212 heatsink is 159 mm high, while my case only supports upto 157 mm high (CM Silencio 452), so please do not suggest that one. Thanks very much!

Hi, I am soon going to start building my own pc, so need to work in a anti-static safe environment. I know an anti-static wrist strap would not cost a lot, but I was just wondering if I could possibly improvise one at home. Is it possible to just wrap a copper wire around your wrist and then connect that to a turned off power supply which is plugged in? Will that work? Is there any other way of creating a safe anti static working environment without having to spend those extra 10 dollars? Thanks very much!

Hi, I have just received my motherboard, cpu and all other components except the cpu cooler (Hyper TX3 Evo). I do not have a stock cpu cooler, because I bought the cpu second hand. I want to check whether my cpu and motherboard are working. So can I just start the motherboard to see if the bios comes up. Will my CPU be harmed if I turn on the machine for like 30 seconds to test if it works, without any cpu cooler/heatsink? Thanks very much!

What motherboard sizes does this case support?
NewJo replied to NewJo's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Is there any graphic card I could fit into that motherboard and power supply - something like a GT 610 or lower, because when i watch videos in 720p or 60fps, they lag. -
What motherboard sizes does this case support?

I have DDR2 2.5 GB mix&match RAM and intel core 2 duo E6300 processor at 1.86 GHz. -
Hi, I have old business class hp compaq dc7700p small form factor computer. Link here I want to upgrade this computer; change the motherboard, RAM and CPU without buying a new case. The current motherboard does not support a lot better than what I actually have in it right now. The current motherboard is here. I want to change motherboard but don't know what sizes of motherboard will fit in the case. Will I need to change the case or is there a motherboard that I can upgrade to? Thanks

Which one would give better performance? The cost of a new 8x1 1600 would be 53 USD. The cost of used 4x2 1333 will be 30 USD. I also have the option of buying a used 4x2 1600 for around 40 USD. Which one should I go for? Is buying a used RAM safe? I have a motherboard with 2 RAM slots only. I plan to mainly use for gaming and some school work and video editing. Thanks very much!
