  1. I did put in a request with MSI, I'm just hoping it doesn't end in a long RMA process EDIT: They were zero help, basically gave a did you try what I already tried, if so send in for RMA.
  2. These were originally alll plugged in correctly. Now I'm using an external one I had, I'm sure they are in the right spot. I've also tried shorting it just incase somehow both were broken. No Luck ;/
  3. Yes Directly on the PSU with the 24 pin. I've tried shorting the power pins on the motherboard, nothing occurs. Would not having the right bios cause zero power / signs of life? I feel like it'd fail for sure, but at least show some light or error message. I could be very wrong.
  4. Hey Ya'll, I'm having some issues with my new build. Here's the build: PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/RYjvtn CPU: Intel Core i7-13700K 3.4 GHz 16-Core Processor CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 50.5 CFM CPU Cooler Motherboard: MSI MAG B660 TOMAHAWK WIFI DDR4 ATX LGA1700 Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive Video Card: EVGA SC GAMING ACX 3.0 Black Edition GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8 GB Video Card Case: be quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 Rev. 2 ATX Full Tower Case Power Supply: be quiet! Straight Power 11 1000 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Generated by PCPartPicker 2023-01-30 12:50 EST-0500 When hitting the power button it does nothing. No clicks or activity at all, no fans spin. I took everything apart and put it back together on the motherboard box itself, just having one stick of ram, the psu, cpu, and video card. Nothing happened still. I did the paper clip trick to the PSU and the fans spun. I tried a different power switch and still nothing happened. So I don't think it was a faulty case power button. It looks like it all points to the motherboard or cpu. Unfortunately both are out of return policy (I took awhile to start the build). I don't have any spares that would fit the right sockets. Any suggestions on what to do? I did see that technically the motherboard might not be the updated bios to work with the CPU. I don't know what that would look like as far as issues go. The motherboard doesn't seem to have a USB for flashing, or have any power so I don't think that's an option. What options do I have?
  5. Thanks for all the information I appreciate it! Specifically the tv trays and razer turret link is super helpful! I have to wonder, is a modern i5 like the one you listed truly better then an older i7? Would I see substantial performance gains from building an entirely new one like this, vs spending it all upgrading something like a gpu for the older system?
  6. Budget (including currency): $1,000 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Talespire VR Games Civ Games Sim Games, I.E. Tropico, Prison Sim, Etc. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I'm debating between what would be the best for me. I have an existing computer that has a 4790k, nice SSD, 8 gigs of ram (in a single stick), and a rx480. Should I upgrade this or build an entirely new system? At the moment I plan on playing on my existing BenQ monitor that's older and is only 60hz / 1080p for single player games and then on a large 4k tv for other couch coop games. I'm thinking about upgrading my keyboard / mouse as well. I've used a Razerblackwidow ultimate with the display screen, and the original razer naga for a LONG time. I've thought about maybe going wireless for those couch gaming setups? Maybe getting one of those boards for your lap that I've seen in videos in the past? I will not have to buy windows within this budget. Thanks for the advice / help!
  7. All games including console / pc games. About two arm lengths away I do play at night, however I have overhead lights so it's essentially daytime in there. I've tried during the day and have the same reaction. It's happened with so many monitors thought, it's just odd. This whole situation baffles me. Anywhere between 1.5-2.5 arm lengths away. For pc games it's about one and a half. For console I lean back in my chair and it ends up being 2-2.5 arm lengths away. It does seem worse when playing pc games.
  8. Honestly your probably right. I'm not sure why this never occurred to me. As far as cost I don't have much to go off of aside from my wife who spends thousands annually . Either way, if that fixes the issue it'd be worth it. Fingers crossed this is right Honestly never thought of headaches being a medical thing. I've always gone at it from the side of cause and effect. Either way, I think I'll be seeing a medical pro soon Thanks everyone for the suggestions!
  9. I'm not sure how to tell if it's in the center but definitely starts in the eyes. It begins by my eyes feeling very fatigued and tired and quickly turns into a full blown migraine. I do notice if I stop before it turns into a bad headache then they feel worse when looking around. I've certainly thought of visiting a eye doctor, just dreading the lovely American priced healthcare. As far as viewing distance they are roughly the same. I do notice that if I sit a bit further back when gaming it lessens the eye soreness. However, for most games that doesn't work if I'm reading something etc. I'm sitting about two arm lengths away.
  10. Hey everyone, so I'm out of ideas. Hoping someone here can shed some thoughts on this. I would play video games on my VG248QE monitors without issues as a kid. Now, as I've grown older for a period of about two years, I didn't play anything, and I worked on an iMac Pro and Macbook Pro screen for work. Now, for the past couple months, every time I've tried to go back and play games on my other monitors, I get terrible headaches. I've tried switching main monitors (I have three of the same one), I've tried using a Pavilion 23bw monitor, which had the same effect. Does anyone have any suggestions on why this could be happening and what I can do about it? The only theory I've had so far is that I'm used to the color accuracy of the mac displays, and the other monitors cause my eyes to hurt? I'm fine with buying a new monitor if that's what it takes. I just want to be able to relax and play games again. Thanks in advance I have a 1070ti if that makes a difference for suggestions.
  11. Thanks, I'll check that out! Didn't realize I could get enclosures like that and put my own drives in them. I'll explore that route as well, thanks for the info!
  12. Hey Everyone, I have a iMac Pro. I've been using Final cut pro to edit / create videos but have been running into some serious storage issues. I'm looking for a external drive I could use that would match the performance I'm getting with my internal storage. I edit native footage from my mac so usually 4096 × 2304 footage. Thanks for any advice!
  13. Think I'm going to go with yours Genwyn, thanks!
  14. Ah interesting, wasn't aware of that. Thanks!
  15. Thanks everyone for the responses. I did mean Optical drive, poor wording on my part. Could integrated graphics support two monitors? I was going to assume we'd need a cheap GPU
  16. Hey everyone, thanks in advance for the help/suggestions. I've been out of the game for the past three years, so I appreciate all the advice. Location and Budget: 1k or less, USA Aim: Used professionally as a daily driver by people who are not familiar with computers. Responsiveness is most important. Will have between 20-30 tabs open at once, along with proprietary software running in the background. The occasional loading/manipulations of CAD drawings as well. Monitors: 1-2 monitors. Not included in price. Peripherals not included in price. price DOES have to include windows 10 pro My friend (Who I'm building this for) wants 512gb SSD, Optical Drive, and 16 gigs of ram. Everything else is up for debate Thanks!
  17. I mean you can technically learn the basics on anything even notepad or physical paper... It really depends on what your looking to get out of it.
  18. Your options are basically either buying a cheap use Mac, or renting one online somewhere. You could also try your hand at a non native language like Xamarin which would work for iOS.
  19. I've been an iOS Programmer for a couple years now. Swift is officially supported on Ubuntu, but you'll have a heck of a time getting it to actually work well. Depending on your use case this may be ok. I'd suggest either trying to find an older MacMini that would support it natively, or trying to build a hackintosh. Goodluck!
  20. This looks promising. Would these be the same reds that'd you would by separately?
  21. Redundancy is the most important to me. Speed is next. I'll be working coding / editing off of files on this so I wouldn't want it to be snail speed. Cost is a concern, but I do realize that it's going to be expensive no matter what for that much storage.
  22. I'm looking for the best hard drives for the bank, along with redundant concerns. I have 22 TB's of random hard drives between 128gb - 4tb sizes that are full, and need backed up. I've already built a freeNAS machine a couple years back which Is what I was planning on expanding. The freenas currently has two 4tb WD Red Pros inside. Any suggestions on the best size / type of HDD's to get?
  23. I'd also like to add Objectice-C Is an old iOS / macOS Programming language
  24. So I’ve been trying to figure this out for the past couple hours and can’t seem to do it.. Any of you have any suggestions? I have a function which I will be passing in an array of models. Each one of these models has an IP Address. For each one of these models I want to send that ip address to another function which will make a connection through SSH, reboot, and wait for it to come back online (I already have all that working). The problem is this only works if done in a one by one fashion, not async. The for in loop that goes through the array of models doesn't wait until everything is done before going to the next one. Any of you guys know of a way to wait until all these other functions are called / finished before moving on to the next thing in a for in loop?
  25. Even if you tell a miner they won't care, they flash cards all the time and should have no problem reflashing a card.. Cheaper for them.. win win
